Halloween Glass Block

After seeing so many great looking glass blocks on the Cricut MB and various blogs, I wanted to give it a try!  I used glass etching cream on both sides of the block first in hopes of hiding the light cord a bit.  I left the etching cream on for about 40 minutes and was very pleased with the even appearance I got.  I cut the cat from Pumpkin Carvings using black vinyl.  I stuffed the block with some really cool orange lights that I found at Hobby Lobby.  The strand had 100 lights and it was a tight fit, but I think it looks really cool!  The final touch was a bow made with ribbon from M's. (I make a terrible bow...please don't look to closely).  You can't really tell in the photo (photography isn't my strong suit either) but the ribbon is really cute...says Trick or Treat and has candy all over it.  Anyway, this was a fun project and I think that I'll be trying a Christmas version of the glass block soon.
I am planning on entering this glass block in this week's challenges at My Sheri Crafts and Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog...wish me luck!
