Teacher Feature

Good Monday Morning!
I hope you have had a wonderful weekend and a very happy Mother's Day!

It's Monday again and time for another Challenge Me Monday at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.
 This week's challenge is....Teacher Feature!
Make something for that special teacher and include the color red!
Remember to include at least one Cricut cut on your project.

This week's challenge came at the perfect time for me!  School is winding down for Emma with just two more weeks to go....then we have....Kindergarten Graduation!  Do you have any ideal of what a weeping mess I will be watching my first grandchild graduate from Kindergarten...uuuuuggghhh!

Ok...if I don't move on, I'll be crying now!
I have always loved the re-purposed Frappuccino bottles filled with candy or other goodies,  however, I have never tried my hand at one of these cute little gift sets.
And...as it just so happens....I also love Frappuccinos (see how well this works out?). So, I thought I would give it a try for Emma's teacher....

I also created a matching card!
This is really an easy project, but it does take awhile to put everything together.

Here's how it started....

You will need a Frappuccino carton with 4 bottles (it's a tough job, but you will first need to drink all 4 Frappuccinos first)!  I used Zip Dry glue and lots of tape to to adhere my paper to the carton.  Large paper clips held everything together while the glue dried.

After covering the carton, it was time for the fun part!
I used my new Elegant Edges cartridge to create the red and white mat on the carton.
This cut was the oblong design found on page 59 of the handbook cut at 4.25 inches.
The pencil is from Locker Talk cut at 1.75 inches.  I used a silver gel pen to add dots around the edges of the white mat.  I also used pop dots to lift up the pencil from the mat.
The bottles are wrapped with cute paper, filled with M & M's and tied up with a bow.

(Bottle Tops)
I spray painted the bottle tops white first.  Then, using Mini Monograms, I made the red mats layered with white.  These were cut using the circle scallop and shadow found on page 129.  I cut them at 1.75 inches.
Those cute little apples are from Doodlecharms and are cut at 1.25 inches.

For the matching card, I used Mini Monograms again, this time cutting the scalloped circle at 4.75 inches.
I also cut the apple from Doodlecharms at 3.50 inches.
I added some rick rack, a button and used my gel pen around the edges.

For the inside of the card, I created a pocket to insert a gift card.

Did I mention that Emma has TWO teachers this year?  Guess I need to get off this computer and get busy drinking another 4 pack of Frappuccinos! (the things we do for our grandchildren....sigh....)
I hope you enjoyed my project and hope you will head over to FCCB and check out all the wonderful projects from the Design Team members!  Then...go get creative and link up your project!
I can't wait to see what you create!
Until next time,
Tanya

  3. I've been saving (make that, drinking then saving) bottles, but have yet to make something. Your gift is just adorable! We DID use the same paper - I agree, must be great minds (or caffeine brains). Emma will be so proud to take the gift to her teacher - what a special grandma you are.
    Hugs,

  6. Fantastic!!! Emma's teachers are going to just love these. So so cute!!! I need to find someone that drinks those things and have them to save some bottles for me. No, I don't drink any kind of coffee. Smells good but doesn't taste good to me. I remember when our Bug graduated from daycare to kindergarden and then kindergarden to 1st grade. She'll be 10 soon and she told her Mom(our DD) that then she would be half way to 20!!!
Noooooooooooo!!! Our oldest granddaughter graduates high school this year. She joined our family when she was 12 shen her Mom married our Son. Oh how they grow up way to fast!! Okay, I'll shut up now. :)
