Sending Sunny Summer Smiles

Say that one 3 times fast!
Hello everybody and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner! I hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend.  I've spent most of my day either upstairs in my Craft Corner or downstairs eating food I shouldn't be eating...it's been a good day...lol!
It's been awhile since I have taken part in a challenge and since I've had a bit of extra time this weekend, I thought I would join one of the fun challenges going on this week.  The challenge at Bitten By The Bug 2 looked like a fun one to me!  The challenge is to create a project using the watermelon cut from Stretch Your Imagination.  I love pulling out an older cartridge like this one and trying to come up with something new!

And here's my card....

I love this hot pink and green combo...looks so summery to me!
* Paper is by Cosmo Cricket.
* Background mat - Elegant Edges (Oblong feature pg 37) cut at 6 inches
* Watermelon - Stretch Your Imagination cut at 5 inches
* Tag - Nestabilities - Ribbon Tag Trio 3
* Sentiment - Pink By Design Summer Vacation stamp set.

To punch up the watermelon a bit, I used the Cuttlebug embossing folder Swiss Dots on the hot pink portion of the melon.  Can you guess which folder I used on the bottom?  I flipped through my folders trying to find something that would mimic the rind of a watermelon...who would have thought....Animal Prints! I think it worked out pretty well!

I love this stamp!
I inked up the edges with lots of Ranger Ink (Shabby Shutters) and a bit of bling always makes me happy.

And of course, I had to use up my daily quota of pop-dots for all the layers....I should owe stock!

Ok, I'm off to link up my card.
Thanks for stopping by.  I always look forward to your visit and your sweet comments!

Until next time,
Tanya

  2. Wow, your card is terrific! So colorful! Love how you cut the background mat a couple of times. Don't you just love Elegant Edges cart? I do. I love everything about your card. Wouldn't have guess animal print for embossing folder - was thinking Distressed Stripes. One terrific card, Tanya!
