Happy Holidays

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
Are you happy that it's Friday?  I know I am! And not just because the weekend is almost here, but because with Friday comes Festive Fridays at My Cricut Craft Room!  This is one of my favorite days at My Cricut Craft Room because I love the holidays and the Design Team always puts together some wonderful holiday creations that always leave me feeling inspired!

So, it's official....I have started my Christmas cards for this year!  Can you believe it...me....Mrs. Wait to the last possible moment...working on Christmas cards?  I have to give credit for my motivation to Mr. Bryan Wyatt at ScrapGuy's PaperCrafting Adventure and the wonderful Close To My Heart products he sells! I recently purchased the Art Philosophy package from Bryan and I'm in love!  I used these wonderful products to create my first Christmas card for the season....

Let me tell you how I went about putting this card together.

* For the card base, I cut a piece of Bazzill - French Vanilla cardstock 8 inches by 9.25 inches, folding it in half - creating a 4 X 9.25 inch card.

*Here are the measurement for the layers I used....
1) Printed holly paper - 3.75 X 9 1/8 inches
2) French Vanilla cardstock - 2.25 X 9 1/8 inches (edges punched with MS punch)
3) Gingham print - 1.75 X 9 1/8 inches
(Printed paper is from Paper Studio's paper stack Cozy Little Christmas)
I inked up the edges of the printed papers with CTMH's Cranberry ink.  After assembling the layers of my card, the fun begins....

Here are the steps I took to create this stamped image...
* Using the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge, cut the image Shape2 found on page 37 at 1.75 inches. I cut this image on my French Vanilla cardstock.
* Next, using this beautiful stamp from the CTMH December 25th stamp set, I stamped my image onto the mat using the Cranberry ink.
* I also used the Layer feature found on page 37 and cut the border for my sentiment mat, again using the French Vanilla cardstock.  I adhered the border on top of my stamped image, covered it with Glossy Accents and added some MS tinsel glitter.
* I thought my sentiment mat needed just a little something, so I used my green cardstock and cut the same mat shape at 2.25 inches, layered the pieces and added a gem to each end.

*Before adhering my sentiment, I added a piece of off-white ribbon to my card.
* I also added a couple of holly leaves created from Art Philosophy.  The holly is found on page 46 of the handbook and I cut them at 2 inches.  A few ruby red gems in the center finished off the card!

And there you have it...the official beginning of my Christmas preparations!  I always love your visits and your kind comments and I hope you have enjoyed your time here in my little corner of the blogging world!  Please stop by and check out the other Festive Friday creations put together by Erica's talented Design Team over at My Cricut Craft Room.  I'll be seeing you soon...

Until next time,
