Hello everyone and happy Monday to you!
Ok, ok...I know...Monday...right? Well, I can think of one good thing about Mondays....Mondays bring "Challenge Me Monday" over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog! And, we have an excellent challenge that goes right along with Mondays and summertime....
"Don't Bug Me"
Make a project with at least one bug...remember, you must use at least one Cricut cut on your project!
How's that for the perfect "Monday" challenge? That's sort of the policy for Mondays and mornings around my house...Don't Bug Me! So, let me share with you my project for this week...

During one of my visits to Michael's, I came across this cute little unfinished, wooden dresser. I thought about that unused bottle of Distress Crackle Paint that has been sitting on a shelf in my craft corner just waiting to be opened up and put to work! So, this little jewel went home with me. To get started, I gave it a light spritz with some white spray paint. Next, I started with the "Picket Fence" Crackle Paint. I just used a sponge paint brush and applied a pretty thick coat. While the paint was drying, I cut liners for each drawer from a soft, floral print ....
*Once the Crackle Paint was dry, I added "Vintage Photo" Distress Ink in various areas (especially the corners and edges) to give an aged, vintage look. I used gold ink on the knobs of each drawer.
*I used the "Art Philosophy" Cricut cartridge to create the sweet little scarf on top of my dresser. That so reminds me of my Mama and my Grandmother...they used to always have the prettiest scarfs on top of dressers and tables....why don't we do that anymore?....oh ....yeah...they had to be washed and ironed weekly...that's why!
*The flowers along the side of each dresser and the butterflies are from "Kates ABCs" and are cut at 7.5 inches.
*Grass is from "Straight From The Nest"
*I made the tassel using DMC embroidery floss and a bead.
*The Tea Set was given to me years and years ago from my Mama. It has been in the closet and I think I have found a new home for this little treasure...
*As a final touch, I added a bit of ecru lace to hang out the bottom drawer!
