Don't worry!

Hello everyone and happy Monday to you!
Wow...where did the weekend go?  They sure do get away quickly don't they?

I took a bit of time this weekend to play with my newest stamps from Peachy Keen.  I have used sentiment stamps for a very long time, but I'm still pretty new to coloring stamped images.  I'm afraid that I may have a new crafting "addiction" with Peachy Keen stamps!  Their stamps are just so stinkin' cute and can be used in so many ways.  I would love to take a class on using Copic Markers, but haven't been able to find one in my area.  So, I'm thinking about taking an online course.  Any suggestions?  If you have taken an online course I would love to hear your thoughts!

While I was working on my card, I kept remembering when my boys were little (a very long time ago).  I would get them all cleaned up and dressed to go somewhere, turn my back for 2 minutes...and they were dirty again...or something was torn or ripped or missing a button!  Two busy little energetic little boys that are 18 months apart can be very rough on a wardrobe!  Anyway, I'm going to enter my card into this week's "Anything Goes" Challenge on the Peachy Keen blog....

Notice the nasty little stains on her sweet dress!  I just love the shocked look on her face - it reminds me of my boys as they listened to me rant and rave about running late and having to change clothes...again!  My "boys" are now 29 and 31 years old and guess what....it really did all come out in the wash!  Guess I could have saved some of that ranting and raving!

Now, the details...
* Images and sentiment from Peachy Keen July Stamp Set
* Clothes are stamped onto paper scraps and paper pieced
*Twine - The Twinery
*Laundry Basket and Cloud - Silhouette Online Store
*Buttons - The Paper Studio
*Copic Markers
*Liquid Pearls for buttons on dress

Thanks for taking a walk with me down memory lane today!  And now, ironically, I need to go work on my laundry.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful Monday!

Until next time,

Congratulations Easel Card

Hello everyone!  I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend and get a chance to do something you love to do.  I've spent most of my day upstairs in my craft corner working on various projects.  It's too bad that my hands don't work as quickly as my brain!  I have so many projects going on inside my head and I can't seem to get them on paper fast enough!  Unfortunately, sometimes those ideas disappear as quickly as they appear, so I have a list on my craft island and I try to remember to write them down as they come to me!  It gives me a great deal of satisfaction to check off one of those projects after it's finished, and today, I get to check one off!

With this card, I actually get to check off two items!  I needed to make a graduation card for a friend and I have been wanting to make something with one of these beautiful hot air balloons I've been seeing everywhere.  So, today's post is a twofer! Don't you just it when that happens??

Recipe:
* Easel card made from - Bazzill in "French Vanilla"
* Printed papers - from "October Afternoon"
* Hot Air Balloon - Silhouette Online Store
* Sentiment Tag - Silhouette Online Store - "Echo Park"
* Sentiments - Pink By Design - "Small Things" and "Vintage Greetings"
* Lace - Melissa Frances

I was so afraid to try stitching on the balloon after all the work of inking the edges and putting it together!  But, I went ahead and zig-zagged away and I'm so happy that I did....I love the way it turned out!  I also did some crazy, wavy stitching around the edges of my card just for fun!

I'm going to enter my card into the challenge going on over at  Made Especially For You - "Create An Easel Card"

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.  I'm going to go see what else I can check off that list of mine (and I'm sure I'll also be adding a couple of things)!

Until next time,

Rise and Shine!

Hi there and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!  I hope you are doing well and staying cool during this hot, hot summer we are having.

I've got a sweet little card to share with you today made with some of the cute stamps from the July stamp set by Peachy Keen.  I'm pretty new to Peachy Keen, but I've really fallen hard for their super cute stamps!  When I saw the sentiment "Rise and Shine"...an old song from our Children's Worship program came to mind...."Rise and shine and give God the glory".  So, I used the stamp for the first part of the title and printed the rest of it on my computer.  And this is what I came up with....

Recipe:

* Printed papers - October Afternoon - "Sidewalks" paper stack
* Spellbinders
* Distress Ink - "Broken China
*CTMH Ink - "Pear"
* Peachy Keen - "July"
* Twine - Doodlebug
* Button - purchased at Michael's
*Martha Stewart paper punch

* I stamped my image onto the blue mat.  Then stamped the image onto different prints, cut them out and glued them into place.

I going to enter this card into the sketch challenge going on over at the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog.

It's been a long day and I need to work a bit longer on some party favors for an up-coming shower that I am helping with .  I hope to have a few photos to share with you soon.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope the rest of your week is wonderful!

Until next time,

You're Sunsational

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!  I hope you had a great weekend.  I didn't get in a lot of crafting time this weekend, but I did manage to finish up a project that I spent most of last week working on.  Emma spent the weekend with us and the biggest part of the weekend was devoted to her.  We swam, made paper dolls on my Imagine, and she had her first lesson in needlework (thankfully Hobby Lobby has kits made just for her age group).  And, we ate...oh my goodness, we ate soooo badly this weekend.  McDonald's and The Waffle House... in one day! And, just to top it off, we went to Olive Garden after church yesterday.  I need to live on tea and crackers for the rest of this week...but I don't see that happening...lol!

Ok, let me show you what I've been working on. This is a card set I put together for a friend's upcoming birthday.  I love making card sets for gifts....

Recipe:
* Patterned paper - Echo Park - "Paradise Beach"
* Sunshine stamp - Peachy Keen
* Swimming stamps -  Lawn Fawn - "Swimsuit Season" stamp set
* Pink By Design - "Summer Vacation" stamp set
* Crinkle Ribbon - My Craft Spot
* Twine - The Twinery
*Buttons - American Crafts
* Basket - Silhouette Online Store
* Spellbinders dies

* I used lots of Spellbinders dies and Martha Stewart punches for my mats and borders.
* I also added "stitching lines" with my white gel pen
* The sunshine is from "Peachy Keen" stamps - "Large Sun"
* The "You're Sunsational" sentiment is from PBD

* The basket is from the Silhouette Online Store - "3D Basket with handle"
* Those cute little buttons are from American Crafts.  I added one to each card and to the ribbon on the basket handle.  I've had them for a very long time, and they were perfect for this project.

* Using Spellbinders dies really makes creating layers easy!

* And here are the cards all tucked away into the basket!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I always appreciate your visits and sweet comments.  Now, I've got to get off this computer and get busy.  I have two choices...crafting or cleaning...hmmm?  I'm thinking the dust bunnies may have to wait another day!  Enjoy your day and I'll see you soon.

Until next time,

Make A Splash!

Hi there and welcome to my little corner of the crafting world!
So, how's the weather at your house?  It has been unbelievably hot around here. Hot, humid, sticky, make-up melting heat!  I am so thankful for air conditioners and iced coffee these days!

One good thing about the hot weather - I tend to spend more time in my craft corner just because I don't want to get out and actually go anywhere!  So, I've been spending some time playing with my Copic markers...practice...practice...practice!  I have also discovered a new love for "The Greeting Farm" stamps...oh my goodness....they are super cute....

Is this little guy adorable or what?

Recipe:
* Printed paper - Echo Park - "Paradise Beach"
*Spellbinders - "Labels 11"
*Martha Stewart punch
*The Greeting Farm stamp set - "Summer Fun"
*Distress Ink - "Salty Ocean"
*Copic Markers
*Crocheted embellishments - Hot Off The Hook Embellishments
* Crystals -  Prima - "Say It In Crystals"

Ok, that's if for me today!  Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by.  I always look forward to your visits and sweet comments!  Try to stay cool and I'll see you soon!

Until next time,

Happy Birthday...in pink...

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner.
I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are ready for another Monday.  Those Mondays sure do roll around quickly, don't they?

Today's card is for a very special lady that attends my church.  She is turning 80 years old in a few days and is one of the most elegant, graceful women I have even known.  I believe that if you googled "southern charm", Mrs. Jeanette's photo would pop up!  Her family has requested no gifts - instead they wish to shower her with "love, prayers and cards".  How sweet is that?

Here is the card I put together for Mrs. Jeanette....

Recipe:
* Printed papers are from Lost & Found "Market Street"
* Bird cage - Cricut's "Sophie" image on page 26 cut at 4 inches
*Flower - Recollections
*Stick pins - sorry, I did not have the packaging and can't remember who made them
* Crinkle Ribbon - My Craft Spot
* Sentiment - Pink By Design

*I machine stitched around the pink background mat and each printed mat.

* All edges were inked up with Versamark ink in "Vintage Sepia"
* I covered the birdcage with Glossy Accents and sprinkle on Martha Stewart's Coarse Glitter

I love all these pretty shades of pink and the sparkle from the glitter!

Thanks so much for stopping by today - I hope you've enjoyed your visit.  I always look forward to reading your sweet comments.  Enjoy your day and I'll be seeing you soon.

Age is just a number....

Hello everyone and happy Friday to you!
I've got a quick, fun card to share with you today using the new "Wild Card 2" Cricut cartridge.  I know it's been out for awhile, but it's new to me because I'm just now getting around to using it.  This is one of those carts that I'm going to have to take some time to play with.  It really has some cute images and I love the fun shape cards.  In case you don't have this cart, here's a list of the features:

*Layer
*Card
*Envelope
*Phrase
*Phrase Layer
*Font

I love shape cards and was really excited about this cartridge and all the cute possibilities!  Here's my first card from this cart (I don't think it will be my last!)....

How cute is this?

*I used the image on page 37 of the handbook and made my cuts at 5 inches.
*The card is cut from Kraft paper and the layers are from The Paper Studio paper stack "Adventure"
*I inked up everything with Distress ink in "Vintage Photo"
*Sentiment is from Close To My Heart stamp set "Just A Number"

I used the second part of this fun stamp for the inside of my card....

After I put the card together, I though I would have to be careful who I send this one to.  With the technology we have today, I'm not sure if the younger generation even knows what it means to have an "unlisted phone number"!  No one uses phones books anymore!

*I cut the red receiver out twice and used some pop dots to give it a bit of lift.

Thanks so much for stopping in for a visit!  Hope you have a wonderful weekend and get to spend some time doing something you love!!

Until next time,

For Chylee....

Hello all my crafty friends!
Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I'm really glad that you're here because I have a special card for a special young lady to share with you today.

I have been very fortunate to "meet" some wonderful people via Facebook.  Connie happens to be one of those wonderful people and Connie is on a mission!  She is collecting cards for a sweet young lady who is dealing with Leukemia.  Chylee is 9 years old and, at the moment, her Leukemia is in remission!  However, she must still undergo several more rounds of Chemo and could use a little bit of cheering up!  So, today's card is for Chylee!  If you are interested in sending a card to Chylee, I will be happy to send you the address.  Just use the "Contact Corner" button at the top of my blog and let me know that you would like her mailing address and I'll get you in touch with Connie.  So, here's my card for Chylee....

Recipe:

* Paper - "Uptown Flair" by The Paper Studio
* Butterfly - Silhouette Online Store
* Gems - Recollections
* Stickles
* Black glitter - Martha Stewart
* Sentiment - Pink by Design stamp set "All Girl"

I used lots of glitter, gems and ribbon, because what little girl doesn't love some bling???

I guess that's it for me today.  As always, I appreciate your visits and your sweet comments!  I hope the rest of your week is wonderful!

Until next time,

Happy Birthday tutu you!

Hello everyone and welcome to my little corner of the crafting world!  I hope your Monday is treating you well.  It's always tough for me to get back into the swing of things after the weekend.  But, I've got the laundry going, the house straightened up (somewhat), supper planned and now I'm ready for some "me time"!

Today's card was created for this month's Feel The Love Project that Madison hosts over at Funky Cards.  This month she is collecting birthday cards and decorations for an organization known as "Sheffield Place" - a home for homeless Mothers and their children.  You can read more about this wonderful organization over at Madison's blog.

I used the fun June stamp set from Peachy Keen stamps to make this sweet birthday card...

Isn't she just the cutest little Birthday Fairy?

Recipe:
* Bright, happy papers are from the "Uptown Flair" paper stack by "The Paper Studio"
*Mat is created with Spellbinders die "Lacy Ovals"
*Sentiment mat is from Spellbinders also - "Ribbon Banners"
* Green flower ribbon was purchased at Hobby Lobby
* Fairy and sentiment are from the June Stamp set by "Peachy Keen Stamps"
* I used my Copic markers to color the Fairy - still learning here, but having fun!

* I added a bit of Stickles to her wings
* Liquid Pearls in "Hydrangea" for the buttons on her shoes
*White gel pen around the edges of my oval mat

* I used lots of pop-dots to add some dimension to this sweet little card

Ok, guess it's time to go finish up the laundry and maybe clean a bathroom or two (blah).  I hope you have a wonderful Monday and I'll be talking with you soon!

Mini Album for Baby Knox

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner.
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!  I've spent a lot of time in my craft corner this weekend, so, it's been a good one for me!  I've been working on a mini album for a special little boy that will be joining his sweet family in just a few weeks.  I'm thinking I may have gone a little over-the-top on this one, but his Mommy likes over-the-top, so it's ok!  I'll be giving this to Knox's Mommy tonight, and I so hope she loves it!

This is the cover with Knox's monogram....

* I started with a plain, chipboard mini that I picked up at Micheal's.
* Patterned paper is from the "Baby Boy" paper stack by "Me & My Big Ideas"
* Everything is inked up with "Vintage Photo" ink by Ranger
*I added white ribbon and white pom poms to one edge
* I used Spellbinders die "Scalloped Squares" for the mat
*Cricut cartridge "Alphalicious" for the monogram

(click on any photo to enlarge)

For these pages, I used the following:
* "Cappuccino" twine from "The Twinery"
*Cricut cartridge "New Arrival"
*"Pink By Design" stamp set "Baby Love"
*"Peachy Keen" stamp set "Boy Mates"

(I love this sweet little stork and baby!)

*The sailboat is from "New Arrival"
*Banner is from "Birthday Bash"
* I added lots of white ric-rac and ink to this page
*The second page is fan-folded booklet to hold 4 mini photos. Here it is all opened up....

*Quick page for 2 larger photos
*Diaper pins are from "New Arrival"

And the back cover!
*Spellbinders die for mat
*Outfit is from Cricut cartridge "Baby Steps"
*Sentiment is from "Pink By Design"
*Lots of brown and white tulle tied to the rings!

And, here's the tag I put together for the gift bag...

*Spellbinders - "Lacey Ovals"
*Cricut cartridge "New Arrival"
*Pink By Design sentiment

Ok...all put together and wrapped up!  It's almost time for me to head to the baby shower - nothing like "last minute"!  Actually, I have been working on this for several days, just getting down to the wire on finishing up!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Until next time,

Happy Fourth!

Hello everyone and Happy Fourth Of July to you!
How are you spending this special day?  It's almost too hot here to do much of anything outside, so I'm thinking I'll just spend my day in my craft corner!  My hubby is being the chef today and has ribs, mashed potatoes and fresh peas lined up for the menu.  I think it will work out for the best if I just stay outta his way and let him do his thing in the kitchen and on the grill!

So, whatever your plans are, I hope you have a wonderful day and get the chance to do something you love to do.  I love creating little things to celebrate the occasion and make someone smile.  So, today's project celebrates July 4th and since it's filled with candy...I know it will make my Emma smile.....

I came across this cute little "3D Firecracker Box" by Lori Whitlock in the Silhouette Online Store and knew that I had to whip this one up!  It really goes together simply and quickly.  I could have made things easier on myself by cutting the box out of glitter paper.  Instead, I cut it from white cardstock, added the red layer with the circle cut-outs and then added Stickles to each cut-out!  This took way to long to dry, but it did turn out kind of cute and sparkly!

I created the blue rosette by using a Martha Stewart paper punch along one edge and fan folding a 1.5 inch strip of blue paper.  I punched a white circle for the top and cut out a star from the Silhouette Online Store.

The sentiment is from the My Pink Stamper stamp set "Happiest Moments" and I cut the banner out by hand.  A bit of happy red, white and blue twine, a few stitches with my trusty white gel pen and there you go!

There are so many July 4th challenges going on right now, I thought I would enter my cute little Firecracker into a few...

Paper Playtime - Die Cuts - Red, White & Blue as main colors
Little Scrap Pieces - Use A Star
Celebrate The Occasion - 4th of July
Die Cuttin' Divas - Use Red, White And Blue

Ok, so that's it for me today!  Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoy your day!

Until next time,

Wishing You A Sunshiney Day

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by on this hot, hot summer day!
We had an awesome thunderstorm late last night/early this morning.  There was  a major lightning show and I just had to watch it for a few minutes before finally going to bed.  It was really amazing and made me think again about what a powerful Creator we have!  I was hoping (ha) that it would cool things off a bit, but it's just steamy hot instead.

So, if you're going to be out in this hot, steamy weather, you definitely need to be drinking lots of fluids and wearing some sunscreen.....

(how was that for an intro?)

Recipe:
* Printed papers - K&Company - "Hopscotch"
*Sunscreen - Cricut's "Pack Your Bags" cut at 4.5 inches
*Background mat - Cricut's - "Pack Your Bags" cut at 5 inches
*Oval sentiment mats - Cricut's - "George" cut at 2.5 and 3 inches
*Sentiment - Pink By Design stamp set "Summer Vacation"

*I cut the mat out twice and used pop dots to add some dimension.
*The bottle layer is also cut out twice and adhered with pop dots.
*I added Stickles to the sun for some sparkle.
*I used my Scoreboard to add a few lines to the lid of the sunscreen bottle.

I'm going to enter this card in the challenge going on over at Bitten By The Bug 2
"Here Comes The Sun"

Well, that's about it for me today.  I'm off to work on cleaning up this house...uuughhh.  I so dislike housekeeping.  But, at least I'm inside where my AC is humming along!  Thanks again for dropping by today. Take care and I'll be seeing you soon....
