Hello everyone and happy Friday to you!
I hope your week has been great and I wish you a wonderful weekend! It's been a good day around here.  We (me, hubby and a very wonderful friend) spent a few hours working on the set for our VBS program this afternoon.  I think it is finally beginning to look like something (I hope).  We still have hours and hours of work ahead of us, but I do think I'm beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel..stay tuned for pictures!

I was also able to sneak in a bit of crafting time this morning.  This is one of those cards that turned out absolutely nothing like the image I started off with in my head.  And, to be honest, I'm not really sure if I even like it all that much.  It just seems to be missing something or another.  I love the flower, I love the sentiment...maybe it's the ribbon that's off?  This ribbon seemed like a good idea at the time, but now I'm not so sure. I've spent over an hour tonight trying to tweak this card! is now into the wee hours of the for now (at least), it is what it is....

How's that for an introduction?

(click on photo to enlarge)

* I used a Martha Stewart punch on my pale yellow mat and added some stitching in lime green.
* The flower is from Cricut's "Flower Shoppe" cartridge.  I used the <Fun 2> cut found on page 16 and it cut it out a layer at 3 inches, 3.5 inches, 4 inches and 4.5 inches.
* Next I inked up the edges then spritzed each layer with a mist of water.  I wrinkled up each layer a bit and left them to dry.
* The yellow center is the <Fun 1> image found on page 16 cut at 4.5 inches.  This was inked with Distress Ink in "Rusty Hinge".
* The leaves are the <Ruffle5> image found on page 22 and are cut at 2 inches and 2.5 inches.  I also spritzed these with water and curled them a bit.
* The sentiment mat is from Cricut's "Art Philosophy" cartridge.  I used the <shape4> image on page 56 and cut it at 1.25 inches.  The orange layer got a sprinkle of MS coarse glitter in Crystal.
* The sentiment is from the "Definitely Definitions" stamp set from Pink By Design

I really do love the way the flower turned out. Once all the layers were dry and assembled, I was very happy with all the dimension...
And, there you have it...such as it is!  Can you tell how blah I feel about this card?  If you have any suggestions on how to tweak it....please feel free to share them with me!
Ok, I think it's about time for me to head to bed.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I'll be back on Monday for the next Challenge Me Monday at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog!

Until next time,

Oh, Hoppy Day

Hello everyone and welcome!
I hope your week is going well for you.  I can't believe that it's the middle of the week already.  I've had my grands together for the last few days and my week has just flown by.  I'll have some photos to share with you as soon as I weed through them!  I always take way too many photos, but I want to remember every minute of the time we have together!

So, I got back upstairs to my craft corner today and sat down to play with my Cameo.  I have had my Cameo for a couple of months now, but shortly after I got computer crashed.  Not good.  In the shop it went and I finally got it back a few days ago.  So now I 'm trying to re-learn the little bit I had learned about my new machine.  Anyway, I was playing around with some of the fun Easter shapes available in the Silhouette Online Store and this is what I came up with....

* I cut this fun, shaped card that I purchased in the Silhouette store once from pink cardstock and once from the patterned paper.  Then I adhered the patterned bunnies onto the pink to make the card a bit more sturdy and durable.
* Those sweet little faces are from the "Critter Faces" stamp set by Peachy Keen
* The sentiment is from the "Hoppy Easter" stamp set by Pink By Design
* I used my hot glue gun to add a white ribbon bow to each bunny
And, here's the back of my card...

I added little white pom-poms to the bunnies' backsides!

This was a fun card to put together and it went together so quickly! I'm loving my Cameo and looking forward to spending some "quality time" with it over the next few days!

Until next time,

Thinking Of Ewe

Hello everyone and Happy Monday!
I hope you've had a fun, productive weekend! I've been enjoying some time with all my grands and celebrating my grandson Blake's 3rd birthday a few days early. They will be here for another day or so, and I'll have pics to share, but I wanted to take a minute to say..... it's time for another Challenge Me Monday over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog

Here are the details for Challenge #104
Out Like A Lamb
"Make a project using a gentle animal...lamb, kitten, puppy, etc."
Remember:  You must use at least one Cricut cut somewhere on your project.

I decided to go with a shaped card for this week's challenge.  And, I was able to use my new Noah's ABC Animals again.....

* I used my Grand Nestabilities "Grand Scalloped Circles" to create my card base
* Next, I cut a circle at 4.75 inches for the center of my card.  I cut it into sections to resemble pieces of a quilt.  Using that as a pattern, I traced each section onto pretty, printed paper (from My Mind's Eye "Lost & Found" paper stack) and lightly glued them into place.
* I used my sewing machine and a zig-zag stitch to sew around the edges of each "quilt piece". Then I used a straight stitch and stitched around the outside of my circle.
* I added some wonderful crinkle ribbon to my "quilted circle" then adhered it to my scalloped card base (which was inked up with some "Worn Lipstick" Distress Ink)
* That sweet little lamb is from "Noah's ABC Animals" and is cut at 3.25 inches.
* The hearts are from "George"
* Sentiment is from the "Pink By Design" stamp set Country Living

Here's another view of my card...

And, I think you can see all the layers a bit better here...

I hope you will stop by FCCB and see all the fabulous inspiration created for you by the talented Design Team.  Once you begin feeling that inspiration...go ....get creative...then link up your project with us!  I can't wait to see what YOU create!

Until next time,

Do One Thing Everyday That Makes You Happy!

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
I hope your week is going well for you.  Well...have you done something today that makes you happy?  I really love this sentiment from the Pink by Design stamp set Gratitude and thought it would be perfect for my gift card holder....

I could not decide on a birthday gift for a friend who is also a crafter.  So, what do you buy a crafter who already has so many crafting toys?  You get a gift card from a craft store, of course!  So, let me tell you how I put this together...

* I created a tag using the Cricut cartridge, "Tags, Bags, Boxes & More".  I used the tag image from page 89 and cut it out at 6.5 inches.
*  I covered my tag on both sides with the striped paper and inked up the edges using Distress Ink in "Worn Lipstick"
* Next, I created a pocket from the polka dot paper, cutting a square 3.5 inches tall.  I inked up the edges and ran a strip of double sided tape along the top of my pocket.  Then I gathered my green ribbon into pleats using the tape to temporarily hold it in place.  Next, I used my sewing machine to stitch the pocket to my tag on three sides....

* Now, it's time to decorate!  I used the Cricut cartridge "Art Philosophy" to create a mat for my little Cricut cartridge.  I used the image from page 34 and cut it at 3.5 inches.  I covered the green layer with Glossy Accents and sprinkled on Martha Stewart coarse glitter in "Crystal".
* The Circut cartridge is from "Cricut Everyday" and is cut at 3.25inches.  I found the Cricut face at this same size to be just too small to work with, so I cut him out at 5.5 inches...

* My sentiment label is also from "Art Philosophy".  I used the label from page 63 and cut it at 1.5 inches.  The green layer was covered with a layer of Glossy Accents and more Martha Stewart coarse glitter.
* I added more bright green ribbon through the holes at the top of my gift tag.
* A gift card from my friend's favorite craft store is the finishing touch...

And there you go! I hope you enjoyed my little project for today!  I hope you do something today that makes you happy!
Until next time,

Spring Is In The Air

Good morning everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
Has spring arrived at your house yet?  It's been here in my little corner for the last few weeks.  The temps have been in the 80's, trees are budding, bees are buzzing and there is a fine, yellow covering of pollen on everything standing still!  Wonderful for the allergies!

Speaking of spring....we have a "springy" challenge for you this week at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.  This week's challenge (Challenge #103) is called...
"Spring Is In The Air"
There are two requirements for this week's challenge:
1.  Use at least 3 flowers on your project.
2. Make sure that your project has at least one Cricut cut.

When I started thinking about spring, I thought of new spring clothes (I can't help it).  Clothes shopping made me think about this adorable new stamp I just ordered from my very own, personal, Close To My Heart consultant, Bobby from Cricut Couple.  So, I put this fun stamp together with some fabulous roses from Cricut's Art Philosophy cartridge....and...this is what I came up with....

(doesn't she look like she has been on a fun spring shopping spree?)

* Tag - Inkissentials #8 Manila tag
* Printed paper - Paper Studio - "Ooh La La! paper stack
* Solid paper - Recollections
* I used a MS punch on the top and bottom of the black layer
* Image - Close To My Heart - "Everyday Life" stamp set
* Roses - Cricut's "Art Philosophy (cut at 2.5 and 3.5 inches)
* Glitter - Recollections - "Blush"

* I cut two ovals, stamping and inking the edges of the first oval.  Then I used pop dots to adhere the two ovals together.  I also added a few black gems for a bit of bling.
* After assembling the roses, I gave them a spritz of spray adhesive and sprinkled on Blush glitter.  A bit of black tulle added just a bit of style!

Ok, that's my project for this week's challenge.  I happen to know that the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog Design Team has lots of amazing projects waiting for you to ooh and aah over.  So...hop on over there and be inspired!  Then .....go...get creative....and link up your project with us over at FCCB!  I can't wait to see what you create!

Until next time,

It's A Girl Thing

Hello everyone!'s Friday (at least for a few more minutes in my time zone)! What are your weekend plans?  My big plan for tomorrow is to stay in my jammies as long as possible and craft my morning away! I really need to get out in my yard and start some major "spring cleaning", but I'm not real sure that is actually going to happen (in fact, I'm pretty sure that it will not).

Before I show you the card I made for today's post, I would like to share with you the story behind it.  Many of you that follow my blog have read about the sweet girl at my church, Trinitie, who is in the middle of radiation and chemo treatments for a rare type of brain cancer.  Trinitie is doing really well at this point and continues to be so strong and brave.  Today I want to share the story of another awesome young lady who attends our church.  Lauren Thompson is an 8 year old sweetheart who just also happens to be a fabulous athlete.  She is putting her talent to the test to help raise money for her friend Trinitie!  Lauren completed in a free-throw contest that took place in Birmingham, AL.  She not only scored 23 out of 25 free-throws, she raised over 5,000 dollars in pledges for Trinitie!  How awesome is that!  Here's a photo of Lauren at work...

(photo by Jay Hare - Dothan Eagle)

Winning the competition in Birmingham allows Lauren to move on to a regional contest that will take place in Georgia.  There she will compete against kids from Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Alabama and Mississippi.  How awesome is this girl?  If you would like to read more about Lauren, click HERE.

I'm not sure just how many boys Lauren beat out to win a spot in the regional competition, but I'm sure it was quite a few!  I kept that thought in mind while I put together a fun, girly card for this special young lady...

How's that for "girly athletic"?
I think this suits Lauren's style completely...she's a fabulous athletic and an adorable girly-girl!

* Printed paper - My Mind's Eye - "Summer Song"
* Basketball goal - Cricut's "Boys Will Be Boys" cut at 4.5 inches
* Sentiment - Pink By Design stamp set "All Girl"
* Ink - Distress Ink "Worn Lipstick"

Here's the inside of my card....

I can't wait to give Lauren this card on Sunday!  I just think she is an amazing young lady, using the gift God gave her to help out a friend in fabulous is that?  You go Lauren ♥

Howdy! And welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
Today I have a fun card to share with you that I created for the challenge going on over at Stuck On U Sketches.  The challenge is to create a project using a cameo or a silhouette.  I have had the Cricut cartridge "A Child's Year" for a long, long time and rarely use it.  So, I thought it would be perfect for this challenge...

* Kraft paper card base
* Patterned paper - DCWV "The Guy Stack"
* Oval mat - Cricut's "Art Philosophy"
* Cowboy - Cricut's "A Child's Year" (cut at 3.75 inches)
* Howdy - Cricut's "County Fair" (cut at 1 inch)
* Stars - Cricut's "County Fair" (cut at 1 inch)
* Ink - Versafine "Vintage Sepia"
* Twine

*** I cut out two oval mats.  I punched holes all the way around one mat and threaded my twine through the holes.  Then I used pop-dots to layer the mats on top of one another.  I also used pop dots on my stars for a bit of dimension.  You can see the layers here....

(you can also see that I distressed the edges on my layers and inked them up with Vintage Sepia ink)

And here is the inside of my card....

Well, yee-haw....there you go!  Hope you enjoyed my card.  Have a great day and I'll be seeing you soon!
Until next time,

Lola Alert

Hi everyone!
Quick post for you tonight...totally non-craft related.  This one is all about Lola!  If you have been stopping by my blog for any length of time, you have probably "met" Lola by now.  If you haven't...Lola is my 4 month old Yorkie that I received for Christmas.  She is a spoiled rotten, 5 pound bundle of energy!

We finally have completed her shots (wow...that takes forever) and decided it was time for her first...gulp...grooming session!  My little girl is growing up!  So, here's a photo of her right before we headed to the groomers....

Adorable...or what?  But, you can't even see her eyes and all that hair is a pain to keep brushed!

And here she is a few hours later....

Can we all just say .....aawwww?  The groomer said she did a wonderful job!  I have discovered that puppies are a lot like kids in that they behave soooo much better for other people!

My hubby is not fond of the bow, but I ♥ it!

I'm still not used to seeing her this way...she looks a bit naked to me....

I'm thinking she may have lost a couple of pounds at the groomers!
Ok, just had a to share a milestone in Miss Lola's life with you guys!  Going to run now and snuggle with her while she still smells so sweet from all the goodies they used on her!

Until next time,

Luck Of The Irish

Good morning and welcome!
Can you believe that it's Monday...again?  I don't know where the weekend's gone!  But that's ok, Mondays aren't all bad, because Monday means another great Challenge Me Monday over at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog!  This week's challenge is called "Luck of the Irish".  Here are the guidelines for this fun challenge:
* Create a project using a shamrock or the color green
* Your project must include at least one Cricut cut

Let me show you my card for the challenge...

* I used "Art Philosophy" to create the white frame.  The bottom portion is stamped with the background stamp "Script" by Pink By Design.  The top layer is covered with Crystal Fine Glitter by Martha Stewart
* The pot of gold and rainbow are from the "Simply Charmed" cartridge.  This cut is made at 2.5 inches.  I used Golden Rod Stickles on the pile of gold.
* The shamrocks were in a little bag of buttons that I picked up from Hobby Lobby
* Ribbon is from "Celebrate It"
* Sentiment mat is cut from Spellbinders "Ribbon Tag Trio 3"
* Sentiment is from Joy's Life "You're So Punny"

And, here's the inside of my card...

(I am also going to enter this card in the challenge going on over at Bitten By The Bug 2 which includes using a shamrock and the color green.)

That's it for me, but I hope you will pop over to FCCB and see what the other Design Team members have created.  I had a little sneak peek and I'm telling you, they have created some fabulous projects to share with you!  After you check them out...go get creative and join in on this fun challenge.  I look forward to seeing what you create!
