Save Santa A Stop....

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by!
I have a fun Christmas project to share with you today.  I put this little cutie together using products from some of my favorite online craft stores....

* This darling little Santa candy box is from My Scrap Chick - this is part of a 5 piece Santa Claus set that includes this box, a card, a tag and more....so cute!
* The fun stamps I used for the bottom of my kisses are from Jaded Blossom.  The set is called "Christmas Candies".  Santa's sign is made from the "Flag Die" also available from Jaded Blossom
* The too-cute sentiment is from the fabulous Peachy Keen Stamps!  This sentiment is from their November Stamp Set.

*Santa's hair and clothes got sprinkled with some fine, white glitter
* The snow is covered with coarse glitter
* I used a burlap embossing folder on his belt
* The gold "sign post" is a lollipop stick that I covered with Glossy Accents, then sprinkled with gold glitter.

This little gift box holds quite a bit of candy....yummy!

Ok - back to working on Christmas decorations!  I've got to get this house finished soon because I recently found out that I have Jury Duty during the week of December 10th.  Can't they just suspend court during the month of December...lol!  Ok - back to it - I'll be seeing you soon!

Until next time,

Emma's Birthday is Coming....

Hi there and thanks so much for stopping by today!
So, how was your Thanksgiving holiday?  Ours was pretty low-key.  My boys were not able to come home (both had to work) so the hubby and I managed to get several things checked off of our "Christmas to-do" lists.  We wrestled in our 12 foot live tree and the house is almost completely decorated! I can't wait to have my entire crew home for Christmas.

I did get to have my sweet Emma over to spend the night on Friday and Saturday (something I am very thankful for).  When Emma spends the night, she wants to do 2 things - go to Hobby Lobby and make something in Nonna's craft room!  So, we made our run to Hobby Lobby then got busy with paper, Cricut carts and glue!  Emma's birthday is December 23rd, but her party is going to be next weekend - so we got busy making a few goodie bags for her guests.  Emma wanted everything to be decorated with cats and the color purple. So this is what we came up with....

* Goodie bags from the candy making section at Michael's
* Grand Labels 11 Spellbinders Die
* Create A Critter for the kittens
* Worn Lipstick Stickles for the noses
* White gel pen for "stitching"

* I typed up and printed a little thank you note
* Next I used a Labels 11 Die to cut them out and had Emma sign her name
* These were added to the bag of the bag

Emma was really happy with the way her goodie bags turned out!  Best of all, we both enjoyed our time together crafting away the afternoon!

And that's about it from Emma and Nonna today!  I hope you all have a wonderful day and I'll be seeing you soon!

Until next time,

Christmas Ornaments for my Boys!

Hello everyone and Happy Black Friday to you!
Are you one of those brave souls who ventures out into all the craziness for wonderful bargains?  Not me!  The older I get, the less I can tolerate the crowds, noise and confusion!  I've already got a lot of my Christmas shopping completed and hope to finish it up next week after some of the craziness has passed!  So, my Black Friday will be spent between decorating the house and crafting Christmas goodies...my kind of day!

Well, it's not only Black Friday, it's time for another challenge over at the Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge Blog!  This week's challenge (#47) is my favorite kind of challenge....
"Anything Goes"!
I decided to work on some Christmas ornaments for my grandsons Blake and Brayden...
* I started with some cute unfinished wooden sleds I found at Michael's
* I painted the sleds in fun Christmas colors, then once dry, I covered with with Crackle Paint in "Clear Rock Candy" - this gives them an icy, frosted look
* The cute teddies are from the Cricut cartridge "Teddy Bear Parade" - cut at 4.25 inches

* The letters are from "Kate's ABCs" cartridge
* I used lots of glitter on the white, furry area of Santa's suit, the belt buckle and gift ribbon
* Twine and a jingle bell finish off these sweet ornaments

And, here's the side view.  I think you can see the "icy" effect a bit better in this photo...

Here are the details for this week's challenge...

It's A Girl Thing

Hello everyone and Happy Friday to you!
Do you have lots of crafty plans for this weekend?  I am hoping for one of those weekends where I get to stay in my jammies all day and craft away the day!

I've been working on gifts lately - Birthday and Christmas - and this time of year, I just can't seem to get caught up!  Here's one I just finished for an upcoming birthday....

After a run to the Bath & Body Works Store (yummy), I needed a gift bag for all my fun goodies.  So, I grabbed a plain white gift bag from my stash and got busy!  I keep a stash of white bags and kraft paper bags on hand at all times!

* That adorable little bathing beauty is a stamp from La La Land - "Bath Time Marci"
* My mats are both cut using Spellbinders Grand Dies
* The blue banner was hand cut and embossed with the "Spots and Dots" embossing folder
* Sentiment is from Pink By Design
* I added some Diamond Stickles to the bubbles for a bit of sparkle

* I used a hole punch around the top edge of my gift bag and threaded them with some pretty pink and white twine.
* I added a couple of blue paper flowers that I purchased at Hobby Lobby.
* A few blue gems on either side of my sentiment and there you go!

Now...off to clean up my mess so I can get started on my next project!  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  Thanks so much for stopping by, and I'll be seeing you soon!

Until next time,

Christmas Gift Tags

Hi there!  I hope your week is off to a great start.  I've had a bit of a cold, but am feeling much better now - thanks for all your sweet get well wishes!  Now, I'm trying to play "catch up" after a couple of days of not feeling like doing much of anything.  Unfortunately, the House Cleaning Fairy took NO pity on me while I was sick, so yesterday was catch up laundry day.  Today has been a mix of cleaning and crafting - I couldn't make myself stick to just cleaning and had to sneak up to my Craft Corner for awhile!  Guess I'll have to pull out the dust rag tomorrow some time.  But, today I have fun Christmas gift tags to share with you...much more important wouldn't you say?

See...much better than housework...don't you agree?

* The snow globe is from the Silhouette Online Store
* Penguin - PK-147
* Snowman - PK-148
* Sentiments - Peachy Keen November 2012 Set

* The sentiment banner is Spellbinders Die - "Ribbon Banner"
* I used Martha Stewart Coarse Glitter for the ice and snow

I'm going to link these cuties up over at this week's Peachy Keen Challenge - "Anything Goes".  Now, it's time for bed so that I can get up bright and early and start in on my cleaning first thing...and if you believe that.....

Until next time,

Thankful For You!

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by!
I hope you've had a nice, long, wonderful weekend!  I've had a bit of a cold and haven't felt all that great, but I think I'm on the upward swing now.  I've hardly been on my computer this weekend and I'm looking forward to paying a few visits - I've missed seeing all of your wonderful creations!

I started this card several days ago before I started feeling so yucky, and just finished it up this afternoon.  I'm still practicing with my Copic markers - not loving my results just yet, but still enjoying the process.  I love this sweet image, just wish I could do it justice....

* I started with a 5 X 5 Kraft card
* Printed papers are from Bo Bunny (Apple Cider)
* Spellbinders - Lacy Ovals
* Pilgrim Marci - LaLa Land
* Sentiment from Peachy Keen Stamps

* Crinkle Ribbon - My Craft Spot
*Ecru Lace - Hobby Lobby

Let's Talk Turkey

Hello everyone and Happy Friday to you!
I love Fridays...not only are they the beginning of the weekend, but they are also the beginning of another fun challenge over at the Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge Blog!  This week's challenge is very fitting as we head into the holiday season....

Challenge #45 - Food & Beverage
I don't know about you, but one of my favorite things about the holiday season is all the wonderful goodies that we only seem to serve during this time of the year.  So, how about that big, golden, roasted turkey served up on a special platter.....
Recipe (for the card, not the turkey):

* I created my card base using the Cricut cart- "Art Philosophy
* I cut 9 squares from coordinating paper and lightly glued them down, then using my sewing machine, I added a zig zag stitch around each square.
* The turkey is from the Cricut Cart - "Simply Charmed"
* I embossed the platter and added Crackle Accents to give it a glossy, aged appearance
* The sentiment is from Pink By Design and the sentiment mat is also covered with Crackle Accents

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by!
Did you have a fun weekend?  Mine was a hoot! All 3 grands and our county fair!  We had a wonderful time, even though we had a heat wave and the temps were in the high 80's/low 90's.  We rode some crazy rides and ate too much food - but it was great.  I'll have some photos to share with you soon.  In the meantime, I have another sweet Thanksgiving card to share with you....

* That cute little turkey is from the Cricut cart "Teddy Bear Parade"
* Sentiment - Peachy Keen Stamps - October Stamp Set
* Sentiment mat - Spellbinders - "Grommet Tags"
* Fall spray - Hobby Lobby
* Crinkle Ribbon - My Craft Spot

I am going to enter this cute little guy in the "Autumn Colors" Challenge going on over at Paper Playtime.

Today's post is going to be short and sweet.  My "To-Do" list has grown to an unbelievable length and I really need to get a few things checked off so I can play with my paper and inks! Take care and I'll be seeing you soon!

Enjoy the Journey

Hello everyone and welcome!
I have been wanting to make this post for quite sometime now...and...finally...I can!  Back in July, I had my very first card published and have anxiously been awaiting it's return so that I could post it on my blog.  I know that the Cricut Magazine from July is probably old news to most of you - but I just had to share my card with you!

Once a project is published through Cricut, you can post it on your blog, or elsewhere, after 2 months.  But, I failed to take decent photos before sending off my card...lesson learned....and had to wait for my card to return safely home!  So, now that's back where it belongs.....

I wish I could photograph as well at the folks at Cricut Magazine!  My card has lots of Martha Stewart Coarse Glitter on it and I have a hard time capturing that sparkle.

The bird is from the Cricut Cartridge "Florals Embellished" and the beautiful sentiment is from "Pink By Design".  I used a die from Spellbinders for the lovely sentiment mat.

My card is in the July, 2012 issue of Cricut Magazine, pages 96 and 97.

Thank you all so much for letting me share a long-time crafting goal with you!
The weekend is almost here and I hope you all have a wonderful one.  My sweet boys, Blake and Brayden are coming for a visit this weekend.  My Emma will be here also so we are planning on having a fun filled weekend at our county fair!  Thanks again for stopping by and I'll be seeing you soon....

Until next time,

Sunshine Blogger Award

Good morning everyone and happy November to you!
I love the month of November - fall seems to be finally arriving in the deep south, and there is still time to enjoy it before the panic of preparing for Christmas sets in!  And, while I am thankful and grateful for my blessings always - there is just something about the month of November that makes me even more so.  So, today's post seems very appropriate because I am very thankful for all the wonderfully talented, inspiring, generous crafters I have met in bloggy land.  A few of these special ladies have seen fit to pass on a sweet blog award to me and I want to share that award today....

Here are the rules:
1) Include award logo in blog post and thank the blogger who gave it to you & include a link back.
2) Answer 10 questions about yourself that you have made up yourself.
3) Nominate 10-12 bloggers for the award and contact them at their blog site to inform them.
Like I said,  this award was passed onto me by some very special, bloggy friends:
Shelly at My Paper Love
Moni at Craft Moni
A special thank you to each of my talented friends!
Ok, so onto the questions!
1.  How long have you been married I married my very best friend, soul mate and biggest fan 32 years ago.
2. How many children do you have?  - We have two children - Christopher is 31 years old and Matthew is about to turn 30...yikes...my kids are old!
3.  How many grandchildren do you have?  Oh...thanks for asking!  We have been blessed with 3 amazing, darling, beautiful grandchildren!  Emma is almost 8 years old, Blake is 3 years old and Brayden is 14 months old.  Did I mention that they are beautiful?
4. Any pets? - One terribly spoiled Yorkie named Lola (she's about to celebrate her 1st birthday)!
5. What is your favorite (at the moment) line of paper?  October Afternoon! ♥
6. What technique would you like to master? - Blending and shading with my Copics
7.  What music do you listen to while crafting?  - Ok, I am a child of the 70's -  The Eagles, Eric Clapton, Bee Gees (yes the Bee Gees), Simon and Garfunkel, all of those oldies!
8.  What is your favorite snack while crafting?  Coffee and Chocolate - no question!
9.  Do you craft more in the morning or at night? - I am definitely a night owl...always have been and I guess I always will be.  I get my second wind around 10:00 and night and I'm good to go for 2 or 3 more hours.
10.  What's your idea of the perfect day?  - Let's see...
Wake up around 10 or 11 in the morning
Have someone bring me breakfast in bed (lots of coffee, a rose in a vase would be nice also)
Take a leisurely shower and have someone do my hair and make up
Go to a late lunch with my girlfriends
Receive hugs and kisses from all my children and grandchildren
Come home, take a nap and refresh myself before dining out with my hubby
After dinner enjoy some crafty time with my endless supply of brand new crafting toys
Have a nice long soak in a bubble bath with a dish of chocolates and a new book
Get ready for bed and sweet dreams of doing it all again the next day.
(Ok, so I obliviously live in a fantasy world...but a girl can dream...right?)
Ok, this post suddenly became a lot longer than I had intended!
I am going to wrap this up now by passing this award on to all of my sweet, crafty friends out there in blog land!  I don't know anyone who does not deserve this one, so if you are a visitor to my blog - please feel free to post this one on your blog!
Thanks for stopping by today and I'll be seeing you soon with another project!
Until next time,
