Bee Happy!

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
I hope you had a great Monday! I've been trying to get back into the swing of things after taking my grandsons home after their visit with us.  I got a bit of much needed house-keeping finished this morning and piddled around in my craft corner for a while this afternoon.  Just can't seem to find my mojo and didn't finish anything I started.....I hate days like that.  Hoping that I can find my groove tomorrow and actually complete something.
I do have a sweet card to share with you - this is one I put together a few days ago.  I love this sweet little image from "La-La Land".......
I still see much room for improvement with my Copic Marker skills - practice, practice, practice!  Thankfully, coloring sweet images like this makes practice fun!

Recipe:
* Image and sentiment -"Watercan Marci" from La-La Land
*Sentiment mat - Spellbinders
* Felt flower - "Fancy Pants"
*Twine - "Lemon Tart" from Trendy Twine

Ok, this one is going to be short and sweet tonight.  I think I'm off for a long soak in a hot tub full of bubbles and then, hopefully, a good night's sleep.  I'll be seeing you soon (as soon as my mojo comes back home that is)!

Until next time,

Peachy Keen Challenge 13-17

Hello everyone and happy Saturday to you!
I've been missing in a action for the last few days, but I've had a very good reason...well 2 very good reasons actually!  I had my 2 grandsons Blake and Brayden with me for a few days.  Blake just turned 4 and Brayden will be 2 in August, so between them and a very hyper-excited Lola (our Yorkie), you can understand why my computer time has been somewhat limited!  We took our little guys back home yesterday (6 hours each way...too far) and it's really, really quiet around my house today.  Missing my  sweet boys, but I will get to see them in another month or so when their baby sister makes her arrival and joins our family!

So...I managed to get this card put together before the boys came to visit, just didn't find the time to get it posted!  This one is for the current Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge - PK Challenge 13-17 : Sketch ..............

Recipe:
* That adorable little duck is from the April PK Stamp Club - PKSC-16
* I added a fun birthday hat using the Party Items Cutting Files from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.

* The sentiments are from the "Honey Sentiments" stamp set from Peachy Keen - PK-195.  I just curved them a bit to fit on my circle mats.

* I added a strip of fun Washi tape along the bottom of my card and made a few stitching lines with my white gel pen to finish up this sweet birthday card.

Be sure to stop by the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog and see all the beautiful cards the other designers created for this this week's Sketch Challenge!  I hope you can find some time to join in the fun.

Ok, before I let you go...I just have to show you what I've been doing the last few days....

All 3 of my sweet grands: Emma, Blake and Brayden

Playing in the water is fun...

...but...blue popsicles are even MORE fun!

Ok - time to get busy in my Craft Corner!  It will soon be time for more Peachy Keen Sneaks and I need to get busy on my projects.  I can tell you now - you are gonna love the stamps coming out next month! And, yes...I know that I say this every month, but I'm always right....right?  Back to work for me - hope you have a wonderful weekend and I'll be seeing you soon!

Until next time,

* I put some yummy sour apple straws in a clear bag and tied them off with some pretty blue twine to put inside this sweet little gift box.

* The sentiment is from the "Artiste Collection BD" set by Close To My Heart.

Here's the complete set of "Rainy Day Critters"...aren't they adorable?

PPPR Spring Blog Hop

Hello everyone and happy Saturday to you!
I'm happy that you stopped by today, because you are just in time for the
Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Spring Blog Hop!

If you are following along the hop, you should have arrived here from my talented friend Barb's blog at BugBites.  If you are just popping in for a visit and would like to start at the beginning of the hop just head over to our talented designer, Lisa's blog at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.

For today's Spring Hop all of the designers created a spring-themed project using some of the darling files created by Lisa of Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons.  I decided to make a sweet spring-time card using this adorable bee from the "Honey Bees Cutting Files" .....

Recipe:
* I started with a 5 X 5 inch white card base.  Next, I cut a layer of yellow cardstock and a layer of pretty patterned paper from K&Company.  I machine stitched around the 2 layers a couple of times, added some pink crinkle ribbon and adhered the layers to my card base.

*My pretty mat is created from the "Layered Labels1 Cutting Files".  The bottom layer is cut from the K&Company patterned paper and the top layer is cut from green cardstock. I ran the green layer through my Cuttlebug using the "Honeycomb" embossing folder.
* After assembling this darling little bee, I gave her wings and antenna a bit of glitter for some sparkle and shine!

* I didn't have a flower in the color I needed for this card, so I grabbed a white flower and gave it a spritz with my Copic Air Brush and a yellow marker - I LOVE my Air Brush!
* The fun sentiment is from Peachy Keen Stamps (PK-197). I hand cut my sentiment banner, stamped my sentiment and gave it a dash of glitter.

And there you go!  I hope you like my sweet little spring time card!  Before I let you hop away, I need to show you the goodies Lisa is so generously giving away for today's hop....

That's right...all those goodies AND a 15.00 GC to Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons!  Pretty sweet! So all you have to do to be entered into the drawing for this great prize is:
1.) Be a follower of each blog on today's hop
2.) Leave a comment on each blog of today's hop

If you would like an extra chance to win, you can "like" Lisa's Facebook page at Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons and/or sign up for the weekly newsletter here.  Be sure to leave a comment telling me that you did!

One more thing before I let you go... there is a fabulous MEGA sale going on at PPPR right now that you might want to check out....

Ok, I've shared my project, given you all the details, shown you the goodies for the awesome give-away and told about the fabulous Spring Mega Sale!  Now it's time for me to send you hopping away to my sweet and talented friend Candace over at Scrappin' 3 Little Princesses. Thanks again for stopping by today and enjoy the rest of the hop!

PKS Spring Fling Blog Hop!

Hello everyone and welcome to the
Peachy Keen Stamps Spring Fling Blog Hop!

I'm so glad that you joined us for this fun hop!  If you arrived here from my friend Emily's blog, Creations of an Army Wife, you are in the right place!  If you just stopped by for a visit and would like to start the hop at the beginning, you need to pop on over to the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog.  I encourage you to start at the beginning so that you won't miss even one of the amazing projects brought to you by the fabulous PK Design Team, both past and present!  While you are hopping, be sure to leave a comment on each blog because the Queen of Peachy Keen has an amazing prize package up for grabs and the more you comment, the better your chances!!!

Ok, so let's get started, shall we?  Today's hop is all about Spring, and each spring I feel the need to fix up, repair, remodel, re-do...you get my point?  As much as my poor hubby dreads it, each spring brings several "Honey-do" lists!  So, to help my hubby keep all those "Honey-do" lists together, I thought I would make a sweet little notebook to keep them in......

Recipe:
*I started with two 6 X 7.5 inch pieces of chipboard.  I inked up the edges and covered them (each side) with some pretty October Afternoon paper.
* The tree and grass are both from the Silhouette Online Store.
* That fabulous bee hive and pretty little flowers are from April Peachy Keen Stamps Stamp of the Month (PKSC-16).

* The sweet little bees are from the "baby bee" stamp which was a freebie a couple of weeks ago. There is a larger version of this little guy included in the April Stamp of the Month.
* The butterfly is from last month's stamp set PKSC-15
* I used my Cinch to punch holes in my covers and inside papers then used black wire to bind everything together.
* Next, I used my Copic markers to color some white seam binding in shades to match my cover.  I snipped them into short pieces and tied them to the wires making this "Honey-do" notebook to bright and colorful for my hubby to miss!
I wanted the inside to be pretty too, so I stamped that cute little bee on each page....
Cute, huh?

Before I let you head off to the next blog, I want to pass on the info about the wonderful Peachy Keen Stamp of the Month Club.  If you aren't familiar with this program, and you LOVE Peachy Keen Stamps (I mean, really, who doesn't?), you really need to check this out!  You will receive a wonderful discount on the stamps and get to see the stamps before non-club members - just click here for all the info!

Ok, now you are off to the very talented Cristina at Crafting With Cristina!  Thanks again for stopping by - don't forget to leave some bloggy love for everyone!

Knickers in a knot?

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
I'm glad you stopped by today because I've got some good news to share with you!  It's almost time for the Peachy Keen Stamps Mid-Month Release and Kathy's done it again!  Oh my goodness, Kathy has come up with some cute, fun, sweet and sassy sentiments that you are sooooo gonna want to add to your collection!  These stamps will be available for sale at the Peachy Keen Stamps Store on Friday, the 19th.  In the meantime, I have a little sneak for you!

I used the new "Baby Buzz Sentiments" (PK-197) for this fun card..

How fun is that?

Recipe:
* I searched high and low for a cute "knickers" cutting file with no luck.  I finally settled on a clothesline scene that I found in the Silhouette Online Store and sort of re-vamped a pair of shorts that were hanging on the line.  Pretty much looks like a pair of knickers...don't ya think?
* I duplicated the base layer, flipped it and welded the two together to form a card base.
* Next, I added some pink ribbon around the waist and around the bottom.  Then I added a few white flowers made from ribbon (I think these came from Michael's).

 * The last step was to stamp on this over-the-top cute and sassy sentiment!

This little card was super fast and easy to put together and I can think of lots of people I could give this one to....lol!  Ok, that's it for me today - keep an eye out for more sneaks by our fabulous Peachy Keen Designers. I have a feeling we will be seeing lots of Peachy Cuteness over the next few days!

Until next time,

I like you more than coffee

Hey everyone and Happy Friday to you!
Are you ready for the weekend?  I've got a busy one planned, but that's ok, I'm hoping to sneak a little crafting time in there somewhere!  Got a quick card to share with you today then it's off to lunch with some of my best girlfriends....

If you only knew how much I LOVE my coffee...you would understand how special the person who receives this card really is!

Recipe:
* This cute little guy is "Cafe Ian" from The Greeting Farm Stamps.  Isn't he a spiffy dresser?
I colored him up with my Copic markers and paper pieced his coffee cup. I'm still not happy with my hair coloring skills, but it is getting a bit better (well, at least I didn't cringe this time)

* My mats were created with the Spellbinders Die set "Curved Rectangles"
* The sentiment is from Lil' Inker Stamps
* I colored a bit of plain twine with my Copics to match the background papers and added a wooden button to finish up this card.

Ok -short and sweet today so I can go catch up with the "latest" from my girlfriends!  I hope you all have a wonderful, creative weekend!

Until next time,

Superhero Tissue Box Cover

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner.
I hope your week is going well for you.  It's been a busy one around here....busy and beautiful! We hit 89 degrees here yesterday!  Sure makes me wonderful what the temps will be like in a couple of months, but right now I'm loving it!

I'm really glad that you stopped by today, because today is my first "official post" as part of the Design Team over at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons!  If you aren't familiar with Lisa's Designs, you really need to check them out -she has some of the cutest cut files, digital clip art and digital papers!

For today's project, I decided to make a cute little tissue box cover for my grandsons using Lisa's Superheroes Trio Cutting Files.....

Recipe:
* I started with a paper mache' tissue box cover from Michael's and sprayed painted the box red.
* The first side is decorated with this handsome "Super Man" - isn't he a cutie?

* Next comes "Bat Man"! I think he looks pretty awesome too!

* The last 2 squares were decorated using the Superhero Badges Cutting Files.  The black zig zag running around the box is from the Borders 3 Cutting File.

* For my sentiment mats, I took the base from the Superhero Badges and stretched it out a bit, sizing it to create the perfect mat for my BAM! and POW!  They really remind me of the comic book graphics!

Here's a view of the top of my tissue box cover....

* I just punched a few stars with an old paper punch I had on hand to finish things up!
And there you go...a Super Hero Tissue Cover for my Super Grandsons!
As always, thank you so much for stopping by today! I always look forward to your visits and sweet comments!  Be sure to stop by the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Blog to see the amazing creations the other Design Team Members have put together for your inspiration!
I hope you have a wonderful day and I'll be seeing you soon....

.

Rainy Day Challenge

Hello everyone - thanks for stopping by!
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  It has been so pretty here today.  I spent about an hour outside, soaking up the sun and reading a great book.  It was so nice, especially after the cooler temps we have had lately!

I also spent some time in my Craft Corner today playing with my project for the upcoming Peachy Keen Spring Blog Hop.  I'll have more details about that for you later. In the meantime,do you need a fun challenge to play along with? We have two great challenges going on over at The Peachy Keen Connection!  My friend Cassandra is hosting a "Birthday Theme" Challenge and I am hosting a "Rainy Day" Challenge.  For my challenge, you can create any spring project with a "Rainy" theme.  Here are the general rules for both challenges:

We're sponsoring TWO challenges this month and will be awarding one $25 Gift Certificate to one random winner from each challenge.  If you enter both challenges, you double your chances of winning a prize, but you do need to create one project for each challenge, as combining challenges is not allowed.
Using Peachy Keen Stamps on your project IS a requirement if you want to be considered to win the Gift Certificate!
You will have until Tuesday, April 9th at Midnight to play along.
We will randomly choose a winner from each group of challenge entries.  Those winners will be announced and their photo featured here on the PK Connection on Wednesday, April 10th.

Here's the card I created for the "Rainy Day" Challenge....

Recipe:
* That cute little boot is a cutting file from "Miss Kate Cuttables".  I used the offset feature to create a shadow of the boot.  Then I duplicated the shadow, flipped it and welded the two together to create my card base.
* Those darling little ducks are from the new April Stamps Release (PKSC-16) by Peachy Keen Stamps.  I paper pieced the ducks and colored their sweet faces with my Copic Markers.

 * I covered the puddle and the tiny little raindrops with Glossy Accents for a wet look.  Those raindrops are actually flower petals from an old Martha Stewart punch -they made perfect raindrops!
* The cloud is cut from a sheet of scrapbook paper - you can see the entire sheet in the background.
* Sentiment is from Peachy Keen Stamps Duck Dolls (PK-266)

Ok - that's my card for the challenge...I would love to see your creation linked up with us at The Peachy Keen Connection soon - hope you can play along!

Until next time,

* The Polaroid frame is from the Silhouette Online Store.
*My blue background is embossed with a Darcie embossing folder

* I gave them some cute little faces using the July 2012 Stamp of the month set by Peachy Keen Stamps  (PKSC-07).  The "SMILE!" sentiment is also from this set.

* Using my Cameo, I cut out letters for the names of my grands and added them to the bottom of my frame.

* This darling little honeycomb box is from the Silhouette Online Store and I thought it was just the perfect background for my sweet little bee.
* After assembling the box, I added a pre- made daisy to the front. I think the flower was made by K&Company.  But, I've had them in my stash for a long time, so I'm not really sure!

Spread your wings and fly!

Happy Monday all my sweet bloggy friends!
Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Can you believe that it is April already?  Wow - this year is just going by too quickly to suit me!

Well, with a new month comes a new stamp release from Peachy Keen Stamps and the "sneak peeks" begin today!  I know I say this every month (because every month it's true), but these stamps are so adorably cute that you just can't stand it!!  Our very own Peachy Queen has done it again, so don't dare miss even one day of the sneaks!  The Design Team has put together some fabulous inspiration for you and you can see Day 1 of the Sneaks here.  But, before you go, I have a sweet little sneak to share with you......

Pretty, huh?
The jar, lid, butterflies, swirl and sentiment are all from the April Stamp Set.  And, these beauties are just a little peek at this amazing set!

* All images are colored with my Copic Markers
* I didn't have any twine in the color I needed, so I used a Copic marker on some plain twine to create just the color I needed to match my card.

* I wanted my jar to have the shiny look of real glass, so after coloring the jar I covered it with Versamark ink and clear embossing powder.  I then heated it up with my heat gun, waited for it to cool completely and repeated the process.  I love the shiny look that resulted.

Ok, that's my little sneak for you today.  Don't forget to stop by the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog to see what the other designers have in store for you.  Have a great day and I'll be seeing you soon....
