Fall

Hello and happy Friday to you!
Has fall arrived in your corner of the world?  It's really, really trying to make itself known here in southeast Alabama.  I'm so ready for cool breezes to replace our hot mugginess!  There was just a hint of a breeze here today and the leaves are beginning to fall off the trees, so I'm hoping...any day now....fall will arrive in all it's beautiful splendor!  I even created a couple of pages in my Art Journal in honor of Autumn's arrival:
(click on photo to enlarge)
Materials Used:
* Dylusions Ink Sprays
* Pumpkins and leaves - Silhouette Online Store
* Swirly stamp and letters - CTMH
* Be Grateful sentiment - Pink By Design
* Leaf border - Dylusions
* Burlap stamp - The Greeting Farm
* White and Copper Gelly Roll Pens

Close up:

And, another:
I find myself wanting to do more and more of these journal pages.  I love the freedom of  starting with a blank page and going wild with these fun ink sprays. I never end up with what I originally envisioned, but I'm finding that I can live with that!  I'm learning as I go!

Okay, that's it for me. I'm looking forward to a wonderful, relaxing, creative weekend and I wish the same for you!

Until next time,

PPPR Design Team Day

Hello and happy Wednesday to you!
It's Design Team Day over at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons and I've got a fun project to share with you today.  I used the "Friday Freebie" from this past Friday to decorate a frame for my granddaughter....

This summer we went on an RV trip to Destin, Florida. While we were there, we visited a restaurant that had a couple of gators available for a photo shoot!  Emma wasn't real sure about it at first, but when I talked up the bragging rights she would have with all her friends back home she decided to give it a try. She did have one stipulation - Nonna and Papa had to join in the fun.  Notice I'm standing in the back as far away as possible from "Stubby" the gator!

Materials Used:
* I found the perfect frame at Michael's - I love the rustic look of this frame
* My cute little gator is from the Birthday Gator Cutting File. You can still get him as a Freebie until this Friday!  He comes with a cute birthday party hat.
* Numbers - Stickers from Recollections
* Twine - Blue Berry from Trendy Twine

I hope Emma treasures this frame and hangs onto it for years to come because I don't plan on getting that close to another gator anytime soon!

Okay, that's it for me today.  Be sure to stop by the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Blog to see what the other Designers have in store for you today.  You're gonna love what you see!  Don't forget - you still have time to play along with our "Birthday Challenge". You can link up your project here.  I hope you will join our challenge, I would love to see your creation!

Christmas Card and a Winner!

Hi there and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
I just want to take a minute to thank everyone who stopped by for our big Birthday Blog Hop this past weekend.  We totally surprised Lisa (owner of Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons) and had a great time doing it! I also wanted to welcome my newest followers and I hope you will continue to visit when you get the chance.

Okay, before I give you the winning name of my little give-away, I have a quick Christmas project to share with you.  You didn't really think I would give you the winner's name first, did you?
I made this sweet little Christmas card and gift tag set using the September Stamp of the Month from The Stamps of Life:

Materials Used:

* "lights4Christmas" stamp set from The Stamps Of Life
* Printed paper - K&Company
* Glitter - Martha Stewart
* Twine - "Cherry Cupcake" from Trendy Twine

I love all the sparkle!

I popped all the lights up with pop dots for some dimension.

Okay, that's my project for today. If you've read this far, thanks for bearing with me - now on to the winner's name.....

PKS Challenge - "Potluck"

Hello and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
It's time for another fun challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps and WOW...have we got a fun one for you this week!  Before I share my project with you, let me give you the details about our challenge:

THE CHALLENGE
Create a 3D object of your choice following the theme Potluck. Ever gone to a potluck and had no clue what a dish might be? Here is your chance to make an item to give a heads up of what your dish is. It could be toppers, placards, a banner, or anything else that sparks your creativity! Or maybe you have an awesome way to display your dish, that would work too. Use your amazing creativity to make a run with this challenge!!
We'll be awarding "TOP PEACH" to the player who uses their Peachy Keen Stamps this week and  our two runner ups will receive a spiffy badge to display on their blog!
Guidelines:
- Design must be new
- Link up by 9/25- 11:59 pm EST

Okay, those that know me, know that I am not a cook. I am not a baker. I am not a pastry chef.  However, I happen to know of an awesome little cupcake shoppe and I am pretty handy with paper, stamps and ink.  So...after my shopping trip to said cupcake shoppe, I got busy with those fun stamps, ink and paper...and...here's what happened.....

(click on photo to enlarge)

Materials Used:
* Scrumptious cupcakes from GiGi's Cupcakes
*Cupcake toppers - PKSC-21
* Bakery - PK-1335
* Clouds on card - My Creative Time
*Twine - Trendy Twine
* Banner - Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons
* Copic Markers

Don't those cupcakes look yummy?
It was all I could do to wait until I took pictures before biting into that "Hunka Chunka Banana Love" cupcake!  Let me tell you...it was worth the wait - YUM!

To make the toppers for my cupcakes, I used the label stamp from Peachy Keen's September Stamp Club set.  After coloring them with my Copic Markers, I colored a few toothpicks then just glued the label onto the toothpick.

The banner is from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons and I attached it to my cake plate using glue dots.

I also made a little card to place in front of my cupcakes using the fun "Sweet Shop" stamp.  I colored up the bakery with my Copic Markers and added a little banner to the window for fun. The clouds are from the "Stitched Cartoon Clouds Die" from My Creative Time".

And, just so you know, this Mojito Cupcake was my absolute favorite ♥

That about wraps up my project for this week's challenge.  Don't forget to stop by Peachy Keen Stamps to see what the other Designers have put together for your inspiration (I happen to know there are some awesome creations for you to see).  I hope to see your Potluck creation linked up with us very soon!

Happy Fall!

Good morning and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
I'm so glad you stopped by because I have a special project to share with you today.  This week and next week the designers from Peachy Keen Stamps and Timeless Twine will be sharing projects showcasing products from these two fabulous companies!  Great combo, don't ya think?  I can't wait to show you what I came up with using some great Peachy Keen Stamps and gorgeous Timeless Twine!

I recently stocked up on some great fall scented soaps and lotions. I love to have these on hand for gifts and I love to present them in a special way.....

(click on photo to enlarge)

The "How-tos":
* I started with a cute little Halloween doorknob treat box I came across in the Silhouette Online Store.  I removed the hole for the doorknob and cut out the box using Kraft paper.
* I cut an extra piece to add to the inside of my box and ran it through my crimper.  Next, I inked up all the edges and assembled the box.

* I wrapped some beautiful, rich Chocolate Chip Brown twine around the top of my box several times. Then I made a big, loopy bow and finished it off with a bright orange button.
* My sentiment is from the Peachy Keen Stamp Set PKSC-09 . After stamping onto a hand cut banner, I adhered the banner just under my twine bow.
* I also wrapped the top portion of my soap bottle with more twine and added another fun orange button and bow to dress up the bottle a bit.

* My adorable scarecrow is from the Peachy Keen Stamp set PK-648 and his sweet little face is from the  PKS set PK-692.  I colored his face, hair and straw with my Copic Markers and paper pieced his clothes.  I even added a cute little belt made from that great Chocolate Chip Brown Twine!
* The pumpkins are also paper pieced and are from the PKSC-09 set.

So, what do you think?  I'm thinking Peachy Keen Stamps and Timeless Twine make a great team!  Thanks so much for stopping by today - I hope you enjoyed your visit.  Have a wonderful day and I'll be seeing you soon....

Spooky

Good morning and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
Can you believe that it's Monday....again?  The weekend just flew right by and was gone before I knew it! I didn't get as much accomplished as I had planned - just had one of "those days" yesterday and didn't feel like doing much of anything.  I pretty much went to church, went to lunch, came home and napped on and off all day.  But, that's okay, I think sometimes we just need the chance to do nothing.  So....that was yesterday, today I gotta get busy!

I really love the fun sketch challenge going on this week at Peachy Keen Stamps .  Even though it's not my week to post, I wanted to play along with this cutie. So,here's my take on this fun little sketch.....

I had so much fun putting this card together - I love the colors scheme!

Materials Used:
* Printed papers - "Boo Who" paper stack by Recollections
* Witch - PKSC-09
* Copic Markers
* 3/4 and 1 inch paper punch
* Spellbinders Circle Die
* Glitter letters - Recollections
* Sewing Machine
*Sequins - Hobby Lobby

I did a bit of "wonky" machine stitching with black thread around the edges of my card. And, I added a few black sequins for fun!

You still have time to join in the fun - here's this week's sketch...

I hope you have a chance to play along with us! I look forward to seeing your card linked up with us over at Peachy Keen Stamps!  Have a great day and I'll be seeing you soon...

See beyond the imperfections...

Hello everyone and happy Saturday to you!
I hope your weekend is off to a great start.  It's a beautiful day here and I have a full day of crafting planned.  Hubby will be watching the games and I'll be in my craft corner - happy, happy, happy!

Speaking of happy, I have been having so much fun playing with my Art Journal. This is a whole new venture for me and it's kinda hard to just let loose and let it happen, but it's fun to see where the whole thing goes once you do!  So, I'm going to share my 2nd double page layout with you today.  I pulled out my sprays, inks and finally one of my new Prima Doll stamps that I've been anxious to play with.  Here's the end result.....

(click on photo to enlarge)

Material Used:
*Dylusions Ink Sprays - "Bubblegum Pink" and " Pure Sunshine"
* Dylusions Stamp Set - "Around the Edge"
* Dylusions Stamp Set - "The Right Words"
* Various stamps from CTMH
*Prima Doll Stamp
*Atyou Spica Pen
* Copic Markers
* Memento Ink
* Ranger Distress Inks

I love the way these spray inks just blend right into one another.

After stamping the leaves, I lightly colored them in with a Copic marker.
I used a Atyou glitter pen to add a bit of glitter to the center of the little white flowers.

Okay, that's it for me today -time to get up and get busy!  I hope you enjoy your weekend. Have a great one and I'll be seeing you soon!

Halloween Treat Bags

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
It's Design Team Day over at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons and I've got a couple of sweet Halloween Treat Bags to share with you....

(click on photo to enlarge)

Supplies:
* Clear purse shaped treat bags - Jaded Blossom
* Sentiments - Jaded Blossom
* Candy Corn SVG - Candy Corn Guy Cutting File - Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons
* Sentiment banners - Sentiment Spots 1 Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons
* Faces - Peachy Keen Stamps (PK-1200)
*Twine - Timeless Twine

Lisa named this sweet file "Candy Corn Guy", but I kinda "girled" him up a bit by adding a cute little twine bow and cutting the shoes out of that pretty purple paper!

I totally stole borrowed the idea of wrapping twine around the handle of my bag from my very talented friend Kate of Kate's Creative Corner.  Thanks Kate for sharing such a fun idea!

Well, that's about it for me today. But, before I let you go, I need to share a bit of news with you.  Lisa, our fearless leader of Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons is holding a Design Team Call!  If you love working with beautifully created cutting files, digital paper and digital images, you really should give it a try!  You can see all the details about the call HERE.

Be sure to check out the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Blog to see what our talented Design Team has to share with you today - there is some awesomeness awaiting you!

I've got a fun easel card featuring some of the cute new stamps from this month's release at Peachy Keen Stamps to share with you today. This easel card pulls double duty as I turned it into a gift card holder also....

I really love the retro look of these fun papers from October Afternoon.

If you know me and how very much I dislike cooking (not to mention how very bad I am at cooking), you know how much I ADORE this sentiment!

Okay...back to the Monday grind.  Looks the cleaning fairy is still AWOL and I have floors that are in desperate need of a vacuum cleaner.  So, I guess I'm off to crank her up - enjoy the rest of your Monday and I'll be seeing you soon!

coffee...coffee..coffee..coffee...

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner.
I hope you are enjoying your weekend. Mine has been pretty great so far - I slept in, played in my craft corner, hubby brought home lunch, played in my craft corner some more and now I'm having an iced coffee and Hershey kisses with almonds...ahhhh...life is good!

So, have you seen the newest stamp release at Peachy Keen Stamps?  Not only are they totally adorable, they are also totally on sale!  That's right 25% off the new release right now through September 12th....how awesome is that?  We also have some fun challenges going on in honor of the new release.  Challenge number 1 is to create a project using arrows and your favorite color. Challenge number 2 is to create a project using a die cut and a Peachy Keen face.  You can read all the details about these challenges at The Peachy Keen Connection.

Here's what I came up with for Amber's Challenge - use arrows and your favorite color:

Well, I think my iced coffee has kicked in and I'm off to work on some fun fall projects.  Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!
