Better late than never....

Hi there and welcome to Studio 5380.
Wow - the last couple of weeks have been some doozies!  Between the holidays, my computer crashing and dealing with this crud, I don't know if I'm coming or going these days!

I think I may be beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel (and please Lord, don't let it be the train)!  My house if finally free of Christmas decorations, my wifi is working again, and while these headache issues seem to be hanging on, I am finally feeling better.

Once I started feeling better, I got the itch to get my hands inky! And, I knew just what stamp set I wanted to play with.  When the "Jingle All The Way" set by My Favorite Things was first released, I was totally smitten - what an adorable little Santa!  But, by the time I tried to order it, it was already sold out.  I finally got my hands on the set a couple of weeks before Christmas....and...well....you've already heard that sad story.

Anyway, I finally had a chance to (and felt like) getting inky - so better late than never!  Let's just look at it as starting my stash for next Christmas....

Putting these tags together was the most fun I've had in days!

I used the Stitched Rectangles and Stitched Circles Die sets from Lawn Fawn to create my tags.  The larger mats were cut from red cardstock and the smaller from white cardstock. Using some Distress Ink in "Salty Ocean", I inked up the white mat.  I used the Hillside Borders Die by Lawn Fawn to cut a smaller mat which I covered in Clear Rock Candy Glitter for a snowy effect.

Using the "Falling Snow" stencil by Simon Says Stamp and some white embossing paste, I created a snowy background. I sprinkled on a bit of the Clear Rock Candy Glitter before the embossing paste was dry giving the background a pretty shimmer.

All of my images are colored with Copic markers and I added a tiny white pom pom to the Santa hats.  I pop-dotted the images onto each tag adding a few embellishments here and there.

And there you go....the beginning of next year's Christmas stash!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and thank you again for all the well-wishes, it really means a lot to me. You ladies are the best ♥

Have a wonderful day and I hope to see you soon....

It's been awhile....

Hi there and welcome to Studio 5380.
Long time, no blog!

I hope you have all had a wonderful, happy, Merry, Merry Christmas.
My family and I celebrated a few days early this year so that we could work around everyone's schedule.  It was wonderful to have my hubby, our sons, our daughter in law, my Mama and all of our beautiful grands gathered under our huge Christmas tree at the same time!  And, it worked out great because 2 days later I came down with the crud...again.  That's twice this month - blah.

Anyway, between preparing for the holidays and being sick (twice) this month, I have been left with very little time to play in my Studio or to blog. I'm hoping to complete the "Christmas de-construction"of my home very soon (where did all this stuff come from anyway) and get back in my Studio for some creative time!

So, I'm off to pack away the rest of the Christmas decorations and run the vacuum cleaner (yet again) over the millions of Christmas tree needles on my floor.  I'll leave you with a few pictures of my family and hopefully be back soon with some crafty photos very soon.

WARNING: LOTS OF PHOTOS!

My sweeties from left to right:
Hannah - 19 months
Brayden - 3 years old
Blake - 5 years old
Emma - 10 years old

I love this picture!  Emma's reaction when she first saw her goodies is priceless!

Santa left lots of fun toys at Nonna and Papa's house.

Somebody must have been extra good this year!

Emma digging into her stocking.

Hannah didn't quite know what to make of all this, but she jumped right in!

I love surprising my Mama ♥

Some of my favorite men!
My "boys", Christopher and Matthew and grandson, Blake.

This picture is not the best, but it makes my heart happy.  Everyone is enjoying being together and checking out the goodies Santa left (even the big kids).

Thanks for stopping by today and letting me share some happy memories with you!
Have a wonderful day and I'll be seeing you soon....

Official Elf Report Card

Hi there and welcome to Studio 5380.
I'm taking a quick break from the house cleaning, baking, gift wrapping and all-round Christmas chaos to share a fun project I made for my "boys"....

Now, keep in mind that my "boys" are 31 and 33 years old!  But, that's okay, they are still my boys! I came across some "lumps of coal" candy at Target a couple of weeks ago and knew I had to do something with it for my guys.

I used lots of Jaded Blossom goodies on these treats:
* Layered Frame & Journal Die
*Elf Report Card Stamp Set
* Santa Mail Stamp Set
* Christmas Candies

Notice the bad rating for "Read Mom's Blog"!  Good thing these guys are pretty nice to others or Santa wouldn't pay them a visit at all!

Thanks for taking the time to stop in for a visit today (more than I can say for my boys..lol).  I hope you have a wonderful day and I'll be seeing you soon...

Lock & key...

Hello everyone and welcome to Studio 5380.
Are you feeling as frenzied as I am about right now?  I keep telling myself to slow down, calm down, it will all come together.  Maybe if we all say it 3 times while clicking our heels together it will work. I'm willing to give it a try!

Anyway, I'm taking a break from all the Christmas chaos to share a card I recently made with the newest release from The Stamps of Life...

I used the sweet heartlocket2love stamp set along with the coordinating patterns4heartlockets stamp set and the die set which will be available on the 20th of this month.

I added a bit of sparkle to the key with some clear Wink of Stella Glitter.

Just a reminder - Valentines is just around the corner!
Okay, back to the Christmas preparations!  I've got my sugar cookie scented candles burning, Christmas music playing and I just had an iced coffee - time to get back to it!  Thanks for taking the time to stop by today...have a good one and I'll see you soon....

Merry Christmas

Hello everyone and happy Monday to you.
I hope you had a great weekend. Mine was wonderful and filled with blessings. Each year around this time, our church puts on a production of "The Greatest Story Ever Told". We have about 16 scenes set up around the church campus telling the story of Jesus from the time of the prophecy of this birth to the time of his death and Resurrection. The community is invited to drive through while listening to a narration on CD. It is a very moving experience and I am so blessed to be a part of it all. We had over 800 cars to drive through during the two days we were open - it was amazing!

This week I am hoping to get all my loose ends tied up because we will be having our Christmas celebration on Saturday! I am really feeling the time slipping by...so much too do!

I find that I always need "a little something" for someone at the last minute so I try to make a few goodies to have on hand just in case.  I came across a file in the Silhouette Online Store for Ghirardelli Candy holders and thought they would make for quick and easy goodies....

The file number for the holder is #69518.  I did not use the band that is included in the cut file so that I could add this cute little snowman instead.

After cutting out the box from blue cardstock, I stamped on a few snowflakes from the Lawn Fawn stamp set "Making Frosty Friends.  This sweet little snowman is from the same stamp set.

The box hold 3 pieces of yummy Ghirardelli Chocolate.

I used the Lawn Fawn stamp set, "Cozy Christmas" and the "Stitched Snowflakes" die set to decorate the top of each candy box.

Okay, it's time for me to get back to work!  Thank you so much for stopping by today, I always look forward to your visits and sweet comments!  I hope you have a great day and get lots of things marked off of your "to-do" list...see you soon!

A FULL MUG MAKES EVERYTHING BETTER

Hi there and happy Friday to you!
How are you doing with your Christmas preparations?  My house is as decorated as it is going to get and most of the gifts have been purchased and wrapped. But, there is still so much to do!  We will be celebrating a few days before the 25th this year so that I can have both of my sons home at the same time (which makes me very happy) so I am really feeling the crunch to get things finished.

During my Christmas shopping I picked up a Starbucks gift card for someone special in my family.  I knew that I wanted to "dress it up" a bit and today I finally found some time to do just that....

This cute image is Kimmie Girl from Unity Stamps.
The sentiment is from the June 2014 KOTM.

I used the Gift Card Envelope Die from The Stamps of Life to hold the Starbucks gift card.

Works like a charm!

And, there you go!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I'm off to link up my card with Friends With Flair over at the Unity Stamps Company Blog.  I hope you have a wonderful day - see you soon ♥

Christmas Blessings

Hello everyone and welcome to Studio 5380.
I hope your week is sailing smoothly along for you. Mine is slipping by much too quickly to suit me, but what can you do?  Too many projects floating in my head for my hands to keep up with.

I purchased the sweet stamp set, "A Blessed Christmas" by Paper Smooches several weeks ago and finally found a bit of time to pull it out and play. I love the simple, but beautiful images and sentiments in this set.  Here is the tag I made this morning....

I started with a navy base cut with a  Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Die.  I used a smaller die to cut a mat from Smooth Solar White Neenah Paper.  I inked up the white mat using the following Ranger Distressed Inks from top to bottom:
Black Soot
Chipped Sapphire
Dusty Concord
Worn Lipstick

After my ink was dry, I added some stars using white embossing paste and a stencil.  While the embossing paste was drying, I colored my image with Copic Markers.  I cut out the image and added it to the tag with pop dots.

To finish up this tag, I stamped my sentiment along the bottom and added a bit of twine for hanging.

Thank you so much for stopping by today - I always look forward to your visits and sweet comments. I hope you have a wonderful day and I'll see you soon....

You hold the key...

Hi there and happy Monday to you!
Thanks so much for stopping by today and a special thank you for all the wonderful "feel better wishes"! I am happy to report that this cold is finally letting up!  This one has lingered for over a week and I am so ready to leave it behind and get back to playing with some paper and catching up on my blog visits!

Today I'm going to share one of my favorite things to make - a Shaker Card!  I used the new heartlocket2love stamp set and coordinating dies from The Stamps of Life to put this one together...

Using the dies and this pretty metallic paper, I cut out the heart locket and key. I used gold embossing powder to give my sentiment some sparkle.

Shaker Cards just make me happy ♥

Okay - that's it for me today!
If I owe you a blog visit (and I probably do),  I hope to be stopping by for a visit very soon!
Have a wonderful day and I'll see you soon....

BAH HUMBUG.....

Hi there...and no...I really don't mean it.
I'm just grumpy because I have been dealing with a yucky cold/sinus infection that seems to want to hang on and never leave me....sigh. I have 40 gazillionly things on my Christmas to-do list and I'm making NO progress. I feel bad, have no energy and just want to sleep -want to hear the worst part?  I haven't picked up a stamp or ink in about a week....YIKES!

Okay, thanks for listening to me whine (hubby is getting tired of it).  After a week or so of this stuff, I do hope I'm on the upward swing of things. I hope to get a chance to visit your blogs and see what wonderful things you have been creating - I've missed my visits with you all!  And, once I get a bit of shopping and gift wrapping completed, I hope to actually reacquaint myself with some of my favorite stamps and ink!

In the meantime, I have another sweet card that I made for the release of the newest stamp set by The Stamps of Life to share with you today....

The new stamp set, heartlocket2love, is just beautiful and is perfect for Valentines, anniversary or those "just because" cards.

I used the coordinating die set for the heart locket and key (love those dies)

Okay, that's about it for me (thanks again for listening to me whine). I promised myself that if I got a blog post finished and wrapped a few gifts, I could have chocolate and a nap (it's the little things).  So, I'm off to slap some cheery Christmas paper and a bow on a few boxes, pull out my stash of Hershey nuggets and cuddle up with Lola for a couple of hours....see you later....

heartlocket2love

Hi there and welcome to Studio 5380.
I hope your first day of December (yikes) is off to a wonderful start!  Along with the first day of the month comes a new release from The Stamps of Life.  This month's release is called heartlocket2love and it's a beauty.  I've got a couple of cards showcasing this new set to share with you today....

This card base was created with the Sizzix Large Circle Flip-its Die.  I used the stamp set for my sentiment and the coordinating die set for the heart locket and key.

After die cutting the heart locket, I added a layer of Glossy Accents and lots of hot pink glitter. I love the glittery shimmer!

I used several bright, happy prints for this sweet card and love the way it turned out.

I used a Wink of Stella Glitter pen to add a bit of sparkle to the key and key hole of this card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Be sure to stop by the  Gallery at The Stamps of Life to see all the fabulous projects created by the Design Team!  Have a wonderful day and I'll be seeing you soon....
