My Craft Spot Challenge #131

Hello everyone and happy Monday to you!
Did your weekend fly by as quickly as mine did?  Wow - where did it go?  Oh well, it's Monday again so we may as well make the best of it with another fun challenge from My Craft Spot!  This week's challenge is Thank You Cards/Gifts.  I put together this sweet little shaped card for this week's challenge....

The cutting file for my card is from the Silhouette Online Store.  After putting it all together I thought it still needed a "little something" - so I went searching through the store again and came across this fun little ladybug.  I added some Glossy Accents and popped her up with a pop dot.

The sentiment I used is from one of my favorite sets - Chalkboard Sentiments.

I really love this set:

That about wraps up my project for today. I hope you will stop by the My Craft Spot Blog to see what the other Designers have created for this week's challenge. And, I hope to see your project linked up with us very soon.  Have a wonderful day and I'll be seeing you soon!

Hello everyone and welcome to the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons and My Craft Spot  combined

If you just stopped by for a visit with me today and would like to start at the beginning of our Hop, just pop on over to Lisa's Blog at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.  If you are hopping along you should have landed here from Gloria's Goofy Craft Spot.  So, if you're in the right place let's get started!

My first project for the Hop is a cute little Easter treat....

I used the PPPR Gift Box With Window cutting file to create this sweet treat box from pink gingham paper.  That cute little Easter bunny is from the Hoppy Easter cutting file. I added some fun sparkle to his egg with some purple glitter.

The green polka dot grass was cut with the Fancy Edges metal die by My Craft Spot. The super cute sentiment from the Stamping All Around Spring 2 is adhered to a purple flower created with the Tiny Doilies 2 metal die set.

When I first saw the PPPR cutting file Little Duckling I knew I had to create something with this darling little guy.....

I love these bright, springtime colors!
The pretty, pink scalloped border on the right of my card was created with My Craft Spot's Fancy Edges metal die set.  And, I found the perfect sentiment for my card on the Cute Critters stamp set.

Okay, I think I mentioned a couple of give-aways, right?
So, here's the scoop - Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons and My Craft Spot will each be giving away one $20.00 Gift Certificate to a couple of lucky hoppers!  All you have to do for a chance to win is:

You float my boat

Hello and welcome to Studio 5380.
I hope you are having a good week. Mine has been pretty busy but I found a bit of time to play around with a new set of stamps I recently ordered from Lawn Fawn.  When I first saw this set I knew that I wanted to make a ....wait for it........Shaker Card!

I just can't seem to help myself with these Shaker Cards lately!

Anyway, this stamp set is called "Float My Boat" and it has so many cute images. The sailboat, the seagulls, waves and sentiment are all from this set.

I colored a few wood veneer stars with my Copic marker. The white star and circle around the shaker window got a few sprinkles of glitter.

This set has so many cute images and sentiments that I had fun with the inside of my card also!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I've got to go clean up all the teeny, tiny little sequins that I managed to spill all over my desk while working on this card....sigh....

Java Time!

Hello everyone and happy Monday to you!
Ahhhh....Java Time - my very most favorite time of all!  I do love my coffee - morning, noon and night.  I'm an all day coffee drinker and I don't mean that decaffeinated stuff either - no sir!  Gotta have the "leaded" version and gotta have it black.  Unless of course there happens to be some flavored coffee in the house (which there always is).  Or, if I happen to be going to Starbucks and just really need a Carmel Mocha Latte.  But, most of the time, I just happy as can be with my fully leaded, black cup of coffee....ahhhhh.

So, where was I going with all this talk of coffee?  Oh yes...today's project!  This one happens to be for another coffee lover I know............

I cut the gift bag from Kraft paper using a file I found in the Silhouette Online Store (3D Large Scallop Handled Gift Bag).  The layers are cut from an old K&Company paper stack.

I added some dark brown ribbon and a couple of stick pins that I had on hand. I have no idea where I picked up the pins but the colors were perfect!

The coffee cup is from the coffee4two stamp set by The Stamps of Life.  I colored the cup with my Copic Markers and paper pieced the cute label.

Okay, I think I need to go pop a K-cup into my Keurig and get busy around here.
Thanks so much for stopping by - have a great Monday and I'll see you soon!

We need to talk...

Hello everyone and happy Saturday to you!
I've been down and out the last couple of days with yucky sinus/allergy issues. You can tell that "spring has sprung" in my neck of the woods. I love that everything is turning green and starting to bloom, but it sure does a number on my poor, aching head.

I've got a fun, happy little card to share with you today. After my last detailed, time-consuming, somewhat frustrating card (see previous post), I needed a quick and easy project....

I used the phone4you stamp set by The Stamps of Life for this cutie.

After layering my card with the fun polka dot print, I used a Spellbinders Circle die to create a circle through both layers.

And, here's the inside of my card.

I love the big, bold fonts Stephanie used on this set - they stamp out beautifully even on busy printed paper like these polka dots.

Okay, that's about it for me today. I'm off to see what I have in my medicine cabinet that might help these allergies without putting me to sleep.  Have a great weekend everyone and I'll see you soon.

Make Gnome mistake.....

Hi there and welcome to Studio 5380!
I hope your day is going well for you.  Mine has been pretty productive - laundry finished (even folded and put away), sheets changed, bathroom clean and dinner cooking in the crock pot.  I love days like this - they don't happen often, but I love those rare occasions when it all seems to come together.

So, here's the down side of my day - I finished up a card last night and took my photographs this afternoon.  You know the old saying about how the camera never lies?  Well, my camera seems to be brutally honest!  This ever happen to you - you are really excited about a project, can't wait to complete it, feel somewhat accomplished while working on it, complete the project and go....oh, hmmm, not quite what I had in mine.  Yeah....me too.

I'm not looking for compliments here - just being honest about how I feel about this one.  I want so badly to master coloring with my Copic Markers.  Let's face it, I have a ton of money invested in these pricey little markers not to mention the cost of two classes.  I know I need to practice more, I know, I know, I know.  Anyway, I was super excited about this adorable image and while I still adore the image - not so much adoration on my coloring skills.  I'm going to share this with you today with the hope that with time (and practice, I know) future projects will show improvement.

So, this sweet image is from SugarPea Designs. The stamp set is called "Gnome Sweet Gnome".  I adore the images, I like my colors and paper choices.  I guess the biggest issue I have with my coloring is the whole blending thing.  Still just don't have a firm grasp on that particular skill. I also really need to remember to start with lighter colors and build up to the darker shades.

And, I will admit that while it's a darling little scene, it is also very detailed and probably not the perfect image for someone still learning the mysterious ways of Copic Markers!

Thanks for letting me share my project and for listening to me critique myself. I am hoping that publishing my projects (even though I don't love it) will help me see where I need to improve and motivate me to practice...I know, I know, I know.

Also, if you have any tips or techniques that you would like to share, please leave me a comment.  Thanks for stopping by today, see you soon!

My Craft Spot Challenge #129

Hello everyone and happy Monday to you!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are ready for a new week.  How about starting this week off with a new challenge from My Craft Spot?  This week's challenge is Pinterest Inspired - just look at these beautiful, spring time colors....

And, here's my card created with this lovely color palette in mind...

I started out with a 5X5 inch white card base.
I added two beautiful prints from the Simple Stories Vintage Bliss paper pad.  Next, I did a bit of machine stitching around the edges of my card.

This pretty flower was created with a file I picked up in the Silhouette Online Store.  I embossed the layers and inked up the edges with a soft ivory ink.  After inking, I used pop dots to adhere each layer creating texture and dimension.  The center of my flower got a bit of sparkle with some pretty Pumpkin Sequins available in the My Craft Spot Shop.

I finished up my card with this happy sentiment from the Big Sentiments 2 Stamp Set.

Well, that's my card for this week's challenge.
Now, it's your turn!  I hope you get a chance to play along with our challenge this week at My Craft Spot.  I look forward to seeing what you create!

Awesome!

Hello and happy Friday to you!
It's my turn to post over at My Craft Spot and I thought I would share my project with you here as well.  I hope you haven't gotten tired of Shaker Cards yet, because I have another one for you today.  I just can't seem to help myself - I love making these fun cards....

I mean really...doesn't this just make you smile?

I started out with some bright, happy patterned paper from the Take Note paper stack by Doodlebug.  I used my Cameo to cut a heart in the center of my top layer.

My fun sentiments are from the Scrapping Life - Everyday Stamp Set.  The little hearts along the bottom of my card were created with the Heart Border Die Set and the sentiment banner was made with the Ribbon Banners Straight Die Set.

And of course you have to have something to shake for a Shaker Card, so I used these pretty Berry Red Sequins - they make me so happy!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I hope to see you back here Monday for the new My Craft Spot weekly challenge.

Bad to the Bone

Hello everyone and welcome to Studio 5380.
It's the wee hours of the morning and I can't sleep (again) so I though I would play along with the Anything Animal Challenge going on over at Jaded Blossom.  If you have visited my Blog lately, you know how much I am loving the Shaker Card trend. So....here we go again....

This fun paw print paper (hmmm...say that one 3 times fast) is from the Spoiled Rotten paper stack by The Paper Studio.

The cute little pup and sentiments are from the Puppy Love stamp set by Jaded Blossom.

I used an SVG file from the Silhouette Online Store to create the bone shaped window for my card.  The grass is created with the Spring Dies set and the banner with the Candy Charms & Banners Die Set (both sets by Jaded Blossom).

And there you go!  I'm off to link this up over at Jaded Blossom, then I'm going to take a Benadryl and hope to grab a few hours of sleep!

Have a Purrfect Day!

Hello everyone and welcome to Studio 5380!
How's your Monday going for you?  I spent a little bit of time cleaning, a little bit of time doing some yard work and a little bit of time in my Studio.  I bargained with myself all day - 30 minutes of cleaning - 30 minutes to stamp.  30 minutes of trimming shrubs - 30 minutes of coloring (okay, so more like an hour of coloring)!  I actually managed to get a few things accomplished with my bargaining method - the cleaning stuff really doesn't matter, let's get to the card I made....

This adorable little image is from Sugar Pea Designs.  I just discovered their sweet little stamps recently and had to place an order.  This cutie is called "What's Mew?" My order came in last week and I was determined to actually use this set before putting it away. Yay me!

I colored up this sweetheart with my Copic Markers. The pretty printed papers are from the Vintage Bliss paper pad by Simple Stories.

Sugar Pea Designs has a SugarSketch Challenge going on right now, so I followed the sketch and plan on entering my card into the challenge.

Okay, so that's 30 minutes of blogging, guess that means have to go clean something for 30 minutes....sigh....see ya later....

Thanks Bunches!

Hello everyone and happy Saturday to you!
I hope your weekend is off to a great start.  I woke up this morning to the smell of bacon frying - my hubby is a keeper!  After a wonderful breakfast, I headed upstairs to my Studio for a couple of hours to play with some new stamps - so my weekend is off to an awesome start!

So, I really love the newest stamp set from The Stamps of Life, crazy4daisies.  They arrived at my house a few days ago and I've been anxious to play with them - they are super cute....

I started out with one of my favorite color combinations (at this moment).  This fun paper is from the Emma's Shoppe Collection  by Crate Paper.

I am a member of the Die-Hard Club over at The Stamps of Life so I automatically receive the Stamp of the Month Set along with the dies. I am really loving this set - the dies made this card so quick and easy to put together.

I added white buttons to the center of each flower and an enamel dot to the center of each button. A bit of Cranberry Twine from  Trendy Twine ties things up nicely!

Thanks Bunches to all of you for stopping by today!
I've got to get busy with some Saturday errands, but I hope to sneak in a bit more stamping time before the weekend is over. Hope your weekend is fabulous!

Make today ridiculously Amazing!

Hello everyone and welcome to Studio 5380!
It's my turn to post over at My Craft Spot and I thought I would share it here with you as well:

This is one of those bright, happy, fun cards that just makes me smile!
The papers for my card base are from the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan Stack - I love the colors!  I did a bit of inking and then some machine stitching around the edges of my mats. Next I used a few pop dots to adhere the top layer onto the striped layer.

The adorable little scooter is from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons. I used a "Honeycomb" embossing folder for the seat of the scooter and added some Stickles to the lights.

The sunshine is an SVG file from the Silhouette Online Store. I really didn't like the center portion of this file so I used the circle die from the Tiny Doilies Die Set. It was the perfect size for my sunshine and fun sentiment.  The sentiment is from the new stamp set Simply Sentiments.

And of course I had to "pretty up" the inside of my card!  This pretty, scalloped border was created with the Fancy Edges metal die set.

This fun card is going to a special little girl named Maddy.  Maddy is a 6 year old cutie pie who is dealing with Leukemia.  You can read all about Maddy and how you can send a card to help brighten her day at I Feel The Love Project.

That's it for me today.  I hope you have a wonderful day!
