Reasons to smile

Hello and welcome to Studio 5380.

You know how it is when you find a new crafty product and just fall in love with the whole creative process all over again?  I know I am late to the party, but I recently joined the Kit of the Month Club from Unity and I'm totally in love with their images. I haven't had much time to play around with them but I find myself thinking about those stamps and trying to decide what I want to create next.  I really want to try my hand at some mixed media projects and some watercolor projects as soon as I have some free time.  But, in the meantime, I have a sweet, simple card I created with the July Kit....

I love this fun camera and could not wait to color it up. And, isn't this a sweet sentiment?

I added some Wink Of Stella Glitter to the white portions of the camera. It doesn't show up very well in the photos, but it adds a subtle touch of shimmer to my card.

Okay, that's it for me today!
Thanks so much for stopping in for a visit. Enjoy the rest of this holiday weekend and I'll be seeing you soon.....

Happy Birthday in PINK!

Hi there!
How's your day been? Mine has been super busy and I'm happy to say that I got several things knocked off of my "to-do" list! However, I think I may have added as many (or more) things back to that stinkin' list that really need to be completed in the next few days :(

But, for now at least, the list is on hold and I've got my Dr. Pepper and M&Ms right beside me!  I also have a sweet birthday card to share with you....

I used several goodies from The Stamps of Life for this card:

I really love the fun font Stephanie used on the Happy Birthday Die set ♥

Thanks so much for stopping by! As always, I appreciate your visits and sweet comments.  Have a good one and I'll be seeing you soon....

Hello

Hi there and welcome to Studio 5380!
So, how's your day going for ya?  Mine is going to be another one of those busy, busy, busy days so this is going to be one of those short and sweet posts!  I've got a really fast and easy Halloween card to share with you today, so here we go.....

Not only was this one fast and easy to put together - I think it's really kinda cute!

I started with a solid white mat and inked it up using the Colorbox Chevron Stencil designed by Stephanie of The Stamps of Life.

I added a fun purple tulle bow at the top of my card - sentiment is from the crazy4daisies stamp set.

And, last but not least, those yummy little candy corn candies are from the cute, cute, cute candycorn2cut stamp and die set.

Okay, short and sweet as promised!
Have a wonderful day and I'll be seeing you soon...

You are my Sunshine

Hello and welcome to Studio 5380.
I hope you've had a wonderful Monday. It has been a very long Monday for me and I really should be calling it a day.  But, I decided to play with some new stamps rather than go to bed - it's been fun, but I'm pretty sure I will be sorry when that alarm goes off bright and early in the morning!

A couple of months ago, I joined the Unity Kit of the Month Club and tonight I decided to finally pull out my stamps and play a bit.  I have really been loving all the projects I've seen lately created with watercolors.  And, I really wanted to give it a try...so...I did.  And...after I finished....it went straight into the trash can....sigh.  Maybe I'll give it another try sometime soon, but after the day I've had I just did not have the patience to deal with a new technique.

So, I pulled out my Copic markers and while I'm not thrilled with my efforts, it's definitely better than the water-colored version.....

The images and sentiment are from the July 2014 Unity Kit of the Month:
Beautiful - Inside and Out

This really is a beautiful stamp set and it puts me in the mood for fall. I need to give it another try when it's NOT Monday and I'm NOT so tired!

I'm going to wrap this up for now because in just a few minutes it won't be Monday anymore :(
Have a wonderful Tuesday and I'll see ya soon...

Celebrate!

Hi there and happy Saturday to you!
I hope you are having a great weekend and are able to fit in some time to do something you love.  We are having a good day at my house - spent the morning helping my grandson, Blake complete his first Kindergarten homework project and going for a swim later this afternoon.

While Blake is enjoying some Lego time, I thought I would get a post up and running.
So, here we go....

These cute candles are from The Stamps of Life.  I used the candles4birthday and morecandles2stamp stamp sets along with the Candle Club Die Set.

I really love the fun chevron pattern stamp!

This is one of those bright, happy cards that just makes me smile!

That about wraps up today's post, but before I go I have to share this cute picture of Blake with his completed "homework".....

His homework was to decorate the letter 'A' to go along with the story "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom".
Didn't he do a great job?

Okay, we are headed to the pool!  Have a great weekend and I'll see ya soon....

Birthday Altered Tins

Hi there and welcome to Studio 5380.
I hope your week is going well for you. We are rolling right along my house - getting into the back-to-school groove!  It's been a while and I'm still adjusting to having a 5 year old in the house full time, but we are getting our routine down and each day gets a little easier.

Stephanie over at The Stamps of Life released 4 new exclusive die sets today and I thought I would share a project I created with the new Happy Birthday Word Dies....

I started with these cute little metal tins. They are about the size of an Altoids Mint tin.  I've had them stashed away in a drawer for a long time and I don't remember where I purchased them.  Sure wish I could remember because I think they turned out really cute!

I covered each tin in patterned paper, one appropriate for a girl and one for a boy.  I used the "celebrate" sentiment and banner die from the Sizzix Framelits Birthday Cake Set on the inside of each tin.  A bit of ribbon wrapped around the bottom of each tin adds to the festive look.

Instead of candy or gum, gift cards and cash fit in these fun little tins quite nicely!

These were so quick and easy to put together and if I can ever remember where I found these little tins, I plan to purchase more to keep on hand!

Okay, that's it for me today.  If you come across these tins, please drop me a line and let me know where you found them!  Have a great day and I'll be back soon.....

Cupcakes and Cutie Pies

Hi there and happy Monday to you!
Did your weekend fly by as quickly as mine did?  I took 2 of my grands to see the movie Planes: Fire & Recue on Saturday.  Sunday was spent at church and getting my grandson Blake ready for his first day of Kindergarten (today). And, before I knew what hit me...it was Monday!

I have another sweet birthday card to share with you today.  I used the cute new stamps from this month's release at The Stamps of Life for my card....

Products Used:
*Papers - October Afternoon
*Card Base - Silhouette Online Store
* Candle - candles4birthday (stamp and die set)

My inside sentiment is from the morecandles2stamp stamp set.

I added a bit of ecru lace on the front of my card before adhering my yummy cupcake with some pop dots.  A few enamel dots on the icing of my cupcake finished up this sweet card.

And there you go!
Now, I have to share one more super sweet photo with you....

I got to take this cutie to his first day of Kindergarten today!
Blake is staying with us until his Mommy, Daddy, brother and sister move to our hometown in a couple of weeks. We didn't want him to miss anymore school than necessary so Nonna will be dealing with homework, lunches and car line for a couple of weeks.  Wish me luck - it's been awhile!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Have a great day and I'll see you soon...

Happy Birthday!

Hello and happy Saturday!
I hope your weekend is off to a great start.  I spent most of yesterday on the road picking up my grandson Blake. He will be staying with us for a couple of weeks while his Mama and Daddy pack up their home and move to MY town! I'm so excited that my son and his family will be living in the same town with us. Big changes coming our way!

So, today's post is going to be short and sweet because I'll be spending this afternoon with Blake and Emma (my 2 oldest grands).  I think we may take in a movie since it's hot as blazes outside! Okay, here is today's projects.....

I used the following products from The Stamps of Life to create this fun card:
* candles4birthday stamp set

I colored up the cute candles with my Copic markers and gave the flames a bit of sparkle with a Wink of Stella Glitter Marker.  The ribbon was in my ribbon box and a perfect match to my cardstock (I love when that happens).  The gems are from The Paper Studio.

Well, that about wraps it up for me today.  I'm off to movie theater popcorn and an afternoon with 2 of my favorite little people!  Have a great weekend and I'll be seeing you soon....

Trick or Treat!

Hi there and welcome to Studio 5380.
So, how's your day going? It's a hot, humid, muggy day here in southeast Alabama, but it is August and it will continue to be hot, humid and muggy for at least another month...sigh.

So, what the heck - let's just jump on ahead to Halloween and forget about the temp....

This fun card base was created with the Square Flip-its #2 Framelit set by The Stamps of Life.  The candy corn paper is from an old paper stack by The Paper Studio called "Spooksville".

The sweet candy corn was created with the adorable candycorn2cut stamp set which comes with the die to cut out the candy-corn.  This is the cutest set!

This photo shows the card opened up.  The sentiment is from the thanks2fall stamp set.

I used a white gel pen to add a few stitching lines. Some bright yellow enamel dots and pretty gingham ribbon were the finishing touches to this yummy card!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Have a good one and I'll be seeing you soon...

Make a Wish!

Hello and welcome to Studio 5380 - thanks for stopping by!
I've got a sweet and simple birthday card to share with you today...

This fun candle and cute sentiment are both from the new candles4birthday stamp set and coordinating die set from The Stamps of Life.

I paper pieced the candle and adhered it to a base cut with the coordinating die.  A few gems, some white twine and some doodles with a white gel pen finished up this card in no time.

Okay, that's my card for today. But, as promised, I have a few photos of my sweet grands from yesterday's visit.  I discovered that it was impossible to get all 4 of them in the same photo at the same time while by myself - maybe another time...lol!

This is Brayden and Lola.  Brayden and Lola are both almost 3 years old and they have a bit of a love/hate relationship. There is usually a lot of grabbing (on Brayden's part) and snarling (that would be Lola) but, I caught them during a truce ♥

This is my sweet Blake. He is 5 and will be starting Kindergarten this year.

These are my beautiful girls!  Hannah just turned 1 year old and Emma will be 10 in December.

Thanks for letting me share my blessings with you!
Have a wonderful day and I'll be seeing you soon....

Hi there and happy Saturday to you!
I hope your weekend is off to a wonderful start.  I've been working in my Studio, trying to sort through photos of past projects and upcoming projects. While trying to get organized, I came across a photo of a sweet strawberry card that I forgot to share on my blog.  So -here ya go....

My card base was created with the beautiful Fancy Edge Flip-its Die which is made by Sizzix but is sold exclusively from The Stamps of Life.

The strawberry and sentiment are from the strawberries2stamp set.  The pretty little flower was created with the Quarter Flower with Leaves die set.

Well, I guess that's about it for this Saturday!
I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. Take care and I'll see you soon...
