I Love You More Than Ice Cream.

Hi there and welcome to Studio 5380.
I hope you are having a nice, relaxing weekend. I can't believe that we are about to start the month of June...where did May go?

Have you ever signed up and participated in any of the "Online Card Classes"?  I signed up for the current "Mask-erade" class and I've really enjoyed it.  I haven't watched all of the videos yet and I have not completed all the "homework" but I have learned a lot. So, while I'm not very good with the homework thing, I did try out one of the masking method new to me...

For this card I stamped the ice cream cone from the Ice Cream Dream stamp set by Simon Says Stamp onto some watercolor paper.  Next, I used my watercolor markers by Tombow to color/paint the ice cream cone.  I let the paint dry, then covered the image with a small paint brush and Elmer's Rubber Cement...yep...the same stuff in the brown bottle you used in grade school.

After the rubber cement was dry, I used my watercolor markers to add some light, pastel color to the background of my card. The rubber cement keeps the color from seeping into my protected image.  One the background was dry, I added a few ink splatters with Dylusions ink spray in Bubblegum Pink.  Next, I scattered a few sequins here and there across my card front.

Then came the true test - peeling off the rubber cement.  I am happy to say that it just rubbed right off of my ice cream cone with absolutely no trouble at all - way cool!

As a finishing touch, I added a bit of Doodlebug glitter to the top of my ice cream for sprinkles...gotta have sprinkles, right?

Thanks so much for stopping by today1 Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I hope to see you soon...

A Day At The Park....

Hi there and welcome to Studio 5380.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I've been working on this project off and on for a few days now and I'm anxious to share it. Not so much because of my work, but because of the beautiful little people (and one big person) showcased in this project....

I started with this black shadow box that measures about 12 X 16 inches and some photos of my beautiful grands (and handsome hubby) taken at the park last summer.

After choosing photos, I created mats for each section of the shadowbox and got busy with several stamp sets and dies from Lawn Fawn.  This section of the shadowbox features my beautiful granddaughter, Emma and our busy grandson, Brayden.

The next section features our youngest grandchild, Miss Hannah being held by her Papa.  And, the last photo is of our grandson, Blake flying down the slide!  Notice how his hair is standing on end?  That slide had so much static electricity and they all loved making their hair look crazy!

 And, the last row is a sweet little park scene I created using some adorable goodies from
Lawn Fawn.  Here's a list of the stamps and dies I used:

* Let's Play stamp and die set
* Wish You Were Here  (arrow die)
* Life is Good stamp set (sentiments)
* Sunny Skies stamp and die set
* Admit One stamp set (sentiment)
* Stitched Hillside Borders die set
* Grassy Border die set
*Beachside patterned paper

I had a really hard time getting good, clear photos of this project. And, as usual, you can't see all the fun, sparkly Wink Of Stella glitter I added here and there. I love the way it turned out and now I just have the find the perfect spot in my home to display this special piece!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I always look forward to and appreciate your visits and sweet comments!  Have a wonderful weekend and I'll be seeing you soon.....

Sweet Birthday Wishes For Hannah

Hi there and welcome to Studio 5380.

Thanks for stopping by today and happy weekend to you!
My family will be celebrating a special birthday this weekend. It's a few days early, but we are celebrating the 2nd birthday of our sweet granddaughter, Hannah!

So, of course, I had to put together a card for our special girl......

I used the following products from My Favorite Things for this girly shaker card:
* Sweet Birthday Wishes stamp set
* Stitched Circle Frames die set

* The patterned papers are from the Sugar Shoppe paper pad by Doodlebug.
Images are colored with Copic Markers, and it's hard to tell, but I added Clear Wink Of Stella Glitter to the balloons, cupcake and her sweet hair bow.

I forgot to photograph the inside of my card before I signed it, so you get to see my messy handwriting :(

Thank you so much for dropping by today. I need to go clean up my messy studio and finish wrapping Miss Hannah's gifts for tomorrow.  Have a wonderful weekend.....

Celebrate!

Hi there and welcome to Studio 5380.

It's been a while since my last post...again.  Life has been crazy busy and I am really missing my Studio these days.  While I haven't been able to spend as much time with my ink and paper as I would like, I did manage to find some time to make something for our special, soon-to-be Kindergarten Graduate.  Our first grandson, Blake will be graduating from Kindergarten next week ...where oh where did the time go?

This is my first time creating a "box card" and I have to say, it turned out pretty cute. The file is from the Silhouette Online Store and was super easy to put together. The diploma,  graduation cap, sentiment mat and year are all included with the file. I love that the card actually folds up to fit into an envelope then pops back into place when you open it up - pretty neat!

I used a few goodies from Jaded Blossom to dress up my card a bit:
* Star Dies
* Simple Sayings 3 stamp set

Also from Jaded Blossom:
* Birthday Candies stamp set
* Clear Gift Box

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope it won't be such a long, dry spell before I am able to share another project. Take care and I'll see you soon....

You Are A Blessing To Me

Hi there and welcome to Studio 5380.

I hope you are having a wonderful week. Things are rolling right along here in my little corner of the world!  It's a busy little world these days, but I did find a bit of time to play along with the current Watercolors Challenge going on over at the Lawnscaping Challenge Blog ...

These lovely flowers are from the Lawn Fawn "Flutter By" stamp set and the sentiment is from the "Harvest Season" set. I also used the awesome Stitched Rectangles Die Set to create my frame.

I love, love, love the current watercolor trend, but must admit that I have been less than ecstatic over some of my attempts. After watching a few videos, I finally broke down and ordered a set of Tombow Watercolor Markers.  Of course, like many things I purchase, they sat on my desk untouched (but admired from afar) for quite some time. So, I pulled them out last night and I have to say....not too shabby.  Not perfect, but not too shabby ;)

The flowers and leaves got a hit with my Clear Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush and I added a few gold sequins here and there. I forgot to add that after painting my background, I added a spritz of Heidi Swapp's Gold Color Shine - love that sparkle!

Okay, so I'm off to link up my card over at the Lawnscaping Challenge Blog:

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day and I'll be seeing you soon....
