Just Be-gauze

Hi there and welcome to Studio 5380.
Long time - no blog!

Once again, life has been getting in the way of my crafty time (don't ya just hate when that happens?). My fingers have been just itching to get upstairs in my studio and get all inky, so I put some other things on hold and gave myself a couple of hours to play.  Best decision I've made in a while ;)

The weather is still pretty warm here, but I can't wait to work on a few fall/Halloween projects. I pulled out my new, super cute "Mummy" stamp set from My Favorite Things and put together my first Halloween card of the season....

I started with a dark gray card base. Next, I cut strips of white cardstock, distressed the edges, inked them up with dark gray ink and adhered them to my base.  Using a die, I created a circle cut out in the base so that I could add my scene behind the "gauze".

After stamping and coloring my cute little Mummy, I masked her off and watercolored the background with Distress Inks. After the background was dry, I added some stars using the Star Celebration stencil by My Favorite Things and some Silver Metallic Texture Paste by Heidi Swapp.

To finish up my card I added a gray, circular border around my image using the Stitched Circle Frames die from MFT and added a few enamel dots.

Okay...it's time for me to get back to "life"....{insert sigh here}.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day and I'll see you soon....

Lawnscaping Challenge 113

Hi there and welcome to Studio 5380.
Once again, it's been awhile since my last post.  This going-back-to-work business sure does put a kink in my crafty time!  But, I have to say, I think the lack of free time makes me enjoy my crafting time more than ever before. I find myself relaxing more while crafting rather than stressing over every little detail and mistake. Just gotta look for that silver lining I guess!

I decided to use my crafty time to play along with the current Lawnscaping Challenge....

I have been itching to pull out my newest Lawn Fawn stamp set, Happy Harvest.  This is the cutest set and perfect for fall cards and projects.  Here's what I came up with...

I started with the Lawn Fawn Goodie Bag Die and created my treat bag from dark brown cardstock. It's a little hard to tell in the photo, but my "texture" was created by running a strip of Kraft paper through my paper crimper. After crimping the strip, I inked it up with dark brown ink.

All of my images were colored with Copic Markers.
I filled a plastic treat bag with yummy Hershey Kisses and tied it up with a bit of twine and placed it inside the finished goodie bag.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
I really appreciate that you ladies haven't given up on me!  I hope it won't be such a long time before my next post. I'm really anxious to get on some fall and holiday projects soon.

I'm off to link up my project over at the Lawnscaping Challenges Blog.  Have a wonderful weekend and I hope to see you again very soon....
