I've Got News!

Hi there and welcome to Studio 5380.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
I have a bit of news to share with you today.  I'm happy to announce that I have been asked to be a member of the SRM Stickers Blog Design Team!  My term will begin in August and I'm really looking forward to working with Susan and the Team.
If you aren't familiar with Susan and the fabulous crafty products she carries, you really need to check out the SRM Stickers Store.  You can find all sorts of fun items like planner stamps, journaling stamps, stickers, vinyl, twine, ribbon, containers to decorate, all sorts of bags and boxes and more.
I love to create little treat boxes and bags to give for special occasions or "just because".  SRM has so many great styles to choose from and the possibilities are truly endless.  And, I love having a few decorated bags or boxes on hand, ready to go, just in case I need one quickly.
Here is an example using the Clear Take Out Boxes:

These cute boxes are quick and easy to assemble and can be decorated in so many ways.

After assembling, I wrapped each box with some pretty twine and tied it into a bow.  The flowers were created with felt and the Flower Power Die set by Lawn Fawn.

A button tied up with twine adds a bright pop of color to each flower center and I added a simple, sweet sentiment to the handle of each box.

That about wraps it up for me today. Thank you again for stopping by today and letting me share my news with you!  I hope you will stop by the SRM Stickers Blog and meet the new Design Team.  Have a great day and I'll see you soon!

Sending love your way

Hi there!
Welcome to Studio 5380.

I cannot believe that it has 2 weeks since my last post! This summer got off to a busy start and the time is just flying right past me. VBS, grandchildren, family visits and a couple of road trips have left very little crafty time in my schedule - but I wouldn't change a thing! Wow...these grandchildren of mine are growing up way too quickly and I'm really enjoying some special time with them.

So, as it turns out, my house is empty today. No little people calling for "Nonna" and no crazy, chaotic schedule to work around.  So, of course, I headed straight to dust cloth and vacuum cleaner.....right?  Ha...(you people know me better than that)....more like straight to my stamps, inks and paper stash! That stinkin' dust can wait, this Nonna needs a crafty fix!

Feeling a bit rusty and in need of inspiration, I headed over to the Lawnscaping Challenge Blog to check out their current challenge. Lawnscaping Challenge #132 is called "Distress Maniacs and is all about using Distress Inks or distressing your projects somehow.  So, I thought I would give it a try:

When I think of distressed things, I usually think about old, vintage photos and letters.  I wanted to duplicate the look of an old, worn postcard that has been treasured for many years.

I started with this pretty print from Basic Gray. I distressed and inked up the edges then added the ecru crocheted lace along the bottom.  The postcard was created with the "You've Got Mail" stamp set from Lawn Fawn.  The adorable flamingo is from their "Flamingo Together" stamp set.

I distressed and inked up the edges of the postcard to add to the vintage look.  The background of the postcard is lightly inked with "Broken China" Distress Ink.  And, as a final touch, I added some "Clear Rock Candy" Distress Glitter to the flamingo and hearts.

And, now, it's really is time to find that dust cloth and vacuum cleaner :(
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope to spend some time tonight visiting your blogs and seeing what you've been up to for the last couple of weeks!  I'm off to link up my card at the Lawnscaping Challenges Blog.  See you soon!

Hello

Hi there!
Welcome to Studio 5380 and thank you so much for dropping by for a visit.

My schedule has been really busy these last couple of weeks and it's been a while since I've had a chance to play along with a challenge. So, when I had a couple of hours of "me time" today, I stopped by the Lawnscaping Challenges Blog to check out their current challenge.  Even the name sounds like fun on this one....Challenge #131 - Off Kilter!  The challenge is to use as least one element at an angle, so...here's my take on the challenge:

My angled element is the pretty plaid paper from the Perfectly Plaid paper stack by Lawn Fawn.

These bright, fun flowers were created with the new Lawn Fawn die set, Flower Power.

I used lots of foam tape to give dimension to the flowers.

My sentiment is from the Yay, Kites stamp set.
And, as a final touch, I scattered a few brightly colored enamel dots onto the front of my card.

I'm off to link up my card at the Lawnscaping Challenge Blog:

Thanks again for stopping by - see you soon!

Hope Anchors The Soul

Hello and welcome to Studio 5380.

Once again, it's been awhile!  The last couple of weeks have been super busy and I've really been missing my "me time" in my studio. I'm happy to say that all VBS projects were completed in time and we had a great turn out this year! We only had a couple of "oops" and they were corrected quickly and fairly easily and everything turned out great.

Anyway, all of that to say...I finally had a chance to get inky!
So, here we go....

I really love this beautiful stamp called "Hope Anchors" from Neat and Tangled.
I stamped onto my inked up background with embossing ink and used Ranger's "Gold Tinsel" embossing powder for lots of shimmer and sparkle.

These metallic cards are so hard to photograph! I wish I could better capture the shine.
The mats were created with Distress Ink in Chipped Sapphire and Salty Ocean.

I added a few gold sequins and some red and white striped twine as embellishments.

I wish I had better photos to share with you, but these will just have to do!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I appreciate your visits and sweet comments more than you know! I hope to catch up on my visits to see what you lovely, creative ladies have been up to while I was in VBS mode.  Take care and I'll see you soon....
