Online research lead me to white vinegar several times so I thought it was worth a try! It has worked wonders, eliminating the musty odors. And I love the fact that it’s a natural product. <br /><br />Vinegar also helps “set” colors to prevent running. Years ago when I was an avid cross-stitcher, I was told to wash my finished pieces in mild detergent and white vinegar to remove oils (from hands) and any dirt before having a project framed. The vinegar was added to prevent the colors in the floss from running.
