Hi there and happy Monday to you!
After all the stormy weather we have been having in the south, I think summer has arrived with a bang! The weather has been warm and gorgeous for the last few days. And, I think if I listen very closely, I can hear the beach whispering my name...yep...there it goes again!
I may not make it to the beach anytime soon, but I have been having fun playing with the new flipflops2stamp/sandals4summer stamp set created by Stephanie at The Stamps of Life. At least with stamping you don't get sand in your shoes!
Here's another card I made with this fun stamp set:
I used several colors of Distress Ink to create my sunset background. I started with the lightest color (yellow) and worked my way up the card blending the colors together and ending with the darkest color (purple).
The waves were stamped onto white paper and I used the same blending method with 2 shades of blue. I traced the black outline of my waves with an Atyou Spica Glitter Pen in Silver.
For my sand, I tore a piece of kraft paper, inked up the edges and covered with some bright, sparkly coarse glitter in crystal.
I stamped the Enjoy sentiment and that cute starfish onto an oval cut from more kraft paper. I inked up the edges and punched a hole on each side. Next, I added some My Craft Spot Jute String in Natural through the holes and around the cardstock.
This was my first time to try this blending method and I really love the outcome. I'm thinking I will be trying this technique again. That is...if the beach will stop whispering my name so I can concentrate and get something done!
Thanks so much for stopping by today - have a great one and I'll be seeing you soon...
