Hi there and welcome to Studio 5380.
I hope you are having a nice, relaxing weekend. I can't believe that we are about to start the month of June...where did May go?
Have you ever signed up and participated in any of the "Online Card Classes"? I signed up for the current "Mask-erade" class and I've really enjoyed it. I haven't watched all of the videos yet and I have not completed all the "homework" but I have learned a lot. So, while I'm not very good with the homework thing, I did try out one of the masking method new to me...
For this card I stamped the ice cream cone from the Ice Cream Dream stamp set by Simon Says Stamp onto some watercolor paper. Next, I used my watercolor markers by Tombow to color/paint the ice cream cone. I let the paint dry, then covered the image with a small paint brush and Elmer's Rubber Cement...yep...the same stuff in the brown bottle you used in grade school.
After the rubber cement was dry, I used my watercolor markers to add some light, pastel color to the background of my card. The rubber cement keeps the color from seeping into my protected image. One the background was dry, I added a few ink splatters with Dylusions ink spray in Bubblegum Pink. Next, I scattered a few sequins here and there across my card front.
Then came the true test - peeling off the rubber cement. I am happy to say that it just rubbed right off of my ice cream cone with absolutely no trouble at all - way cool!
As a finishing touch, I added a bit of Doodlebug glitter to the top of my ice cream for sprinkles...gotta have sprinkles, right?
Thanks so much for stopping by today1 Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I hope to see you soon...
