Celebrate!

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
Today is my last post as this month's Guest Designer over at Twine it up with Trendy Twine.  I've really enjoyed my time working with Lesley Ann and her awesome Designers.

Since the 4th of July is just around the corner, I decided to create a patriotic project for today's post.  I came across a pretty, dark blue candle recently at one of my favorite stores (ok, it was Hobby Lobby).   The candle was very pretty, but it was just crying out for a bit of bling.  So, out came the glitter and some gorgeous twine and this is what I came up with ......

After blinging up my candle, I decided to bling up a gift bag,  just in case I decide to give this as a gift (probably gonna keep it for myself).

So, here's how this came together:
* I used some beautiful Cranberry and In The Navy Twine to wrap around the neck of my candle and to make that big, beautiful bow.
* Next, I used my Silhouette to cut out a few stars in red and white cardstock.  I glittered up the stars and glued them to the ends of the twine.

I love the way my candle turned out....

Again....just in case I actually decide to give this as a gift, I have the perfect matching gift bag all ready to go.  This was super simple to put together.....

* I punched a few holes around the top of a plain white gift bag and threaded my twine through the holes.  I tied a bow off to one side of the gift bag.
* I added a few of my glittered stars to the bag and a fun sentiment using the "Teeny Tag Greetings" Stamp Set by My Creative Time.

Okay - that's it for me today!  Thanks so much for stopping by. I always look forward to your visits and your sweet comments.  Have a wonderful weekend and I'll be seeing you soon!

Until next time,

So, before I get too lazy....let me share this week's Peachy Keen Challenge with you.  Our challenge this week is one of my favorite kind - anything goes!

These cute little treat boxes are for two of my favorite little guys - my grandsons Blake and Brayden.  They are filled with "Swedish Fish" gummies....yum!

Recipe:
* The gift box is from the Silhouette Online Store
* The super cute fish bowl and fun sentiment are both from the Peachy Keen Stamp Set PK-1255

* That darling little fish is from the June Peachy Keen Stamp Club Set PKSC-18.  Doesn't he have the sweetest face?
* I used some fun Blue Berry Twine from Trendy Twine to tie up my package of Swedish Fish.

So, I hope you enjoyed my little project for this week's challenge.  Be sure to stop by Peachy Keen Stamps to see what the other designers have in store for you.  I hope you will play along with our challenge this week.  I'll be stopping by to see what you have created!

Thinking of you

Good morning and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I've got a sweet little card and matching envelope to share with you today.....

I love the bright, happy colors on this one!

Recipe:
* The adorable image on my card is called "Sitting Cute".  This stamp is from The Greeting Farm and comes with the little cutie and sofa.
* I colored up my images with my Copic Markers - gave her pigtails a bit of twine and her shoes a bit of glitter.
* The pink banner running across the card is "Trimming" from Hedi Swapp.  It comes in an off-white colors and I used my Air Brush along with a hot pink Copic to pink it up!
* The fun felt flower is from Fancy Pants.
* Sentiment is from the stamp set "Card Sentiments" from My Creative Time

*I finally used my new Envelope Maker from We R Memory Keepers!!
* I made this one slightly over sized for the card because of my felt flower.  I also dressed up the front a bit because this card will go into a padded mailer when I send it off.

I still don't have the hang of coloring hair, but I think it's getting a little better.  I must have used 5 different colors in this girly's hair trying to get a realistic look!  Oh well...practice makes perfect, so they say!  Whoever "they" are!

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday....thanks again for stopping by and I'll be seeing you soon!

Until next time,

Happy Graduation!

Hello everyone and welcome!
I hope you are having a great day!  My day is going to be kind of busy- so many things on my "to-do" list.  I love to check things off my list, but these days it seems as if I'm adding things way faster than I'm checking them off!

One thing that I recently checked off my list was *Graduation Gifts.  We had so many seniors at our church this year and I've been slow to get my cards finished.  I started out making cards for each senior, but decided I needed to go a different route if I was going to get them finished before they all headed off to college!  Fortunately, I remembered the cute little Gift Card Holder die that I ordered from "My Creative Time" but have never used....LIFESAVER!
I love the way these turned out.....
Recipe:
* I used the "Embossed Gift Card Holder" from My Creative Time to cut out my card from black cardstock. I added a patterned mat to the front of each holder.
* I used my white gel pen to add a few stitching lines.

* The graduation cap is from the Graduates Cutting File from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.  I added a bit of Stickles in silver to the tassel and Glossy Accents to the button on top of the cap.
* The "Happy Graduation" sentiment and the numbers for 2013 are from the "Follow Your Dreams" stamp set by My Creative Time.

I added a gift card from Best Buy to each of the holders and there you go!  My last 3 graduation gifts finished and checked off the dreaded "to-do" list!

I've enjoyed visiting with you today, but I guess I need to go see what else I can get checked off that list!  Thanks so much for stopping by - enjoy the rest of your day!

For this month's Blog Hop, the Designers are all creating a "Get Well" project of some sort using the fabulous designs created by Lisa at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.  My get well card stash has gotten pretty low, so I made a simple but sweet card to share with you today.....

Recipe:
* I created a fun shape card using the medicine bottle from the Doctor Visit Cutting Files.  This file has some of the cutest images!
* My sentiment is from the "Get Well Soon" stamp set by Jaded Blossom

*I wanted my "medicine" to have a shine so that it would like a liquid inside the bottle.  It was hard to get a good photo of the shine - but it really looks shiny in person!
* I covered the green portion of my image with Vesamark Watermark Ink and then heat embossed it using clear embossing powder.

* I added some stitching lines around my card with a black gel pen.
* A bit of  pretty twine and sweet flower finish up this fun little card.

And, that's my card for today's hop! I hope you enjoyed your stop at my blog today.  Before I send you off to my sweet friend Brianna's blog, let me show you the awesome prize package Lisa has put together for one lucky follower.....

Happy Summer!

Happy Wednesday everyone!
Thanks so much for stopping by today - it's my turn to post on the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog and I can't wait to show you the step card I made using several of fun stamps from this month's release.

I had the most fun putting this card together!  It was a long process and a lot of work, but I really love the way it turned out!

Recipe:
* I started by making a step card out of Kraft paper.  Next, I cut some waves I found in the Silhouette Online Store from white paper.  I used my Copic Air Brush System to color them with some pretty shades of blue.
* Then I stamped, colored and cut out the sweet little fish and sailboat from the PK June Stamp Release (PKSC-18)

*For the middle layer, I hand cut a couple of layers of "sand" from some kraft paper, inked it up and covered it with clear glitter.
* I added the beach ball, sand castle and starfish to this step (these images are all from the PKSC-18 stamp set).

* The 3rd step was made with more "sand" and I air brushed my sunshine and sky.
* The darling little Hula girl (she has become one of my all time favorite PK stamps) is from the Rock a Hula (PK-1254) stamp set.  The guitar is also from this set.
* The coconut drink, starfish and sentiment are all from the PKSC-18 set.
I think this card is just going to sit on my craft desk so that I can crank up the AC, turn on my Buffett tunes and pretend I'm on some tropical island enjoying the sea breezes with my little Hula Girl friend!  Until next time......ALOHA!

Everything is better with coffee

Hello and happy Wednesday to you!
Today is Design Team Day over at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons and I have a sweet card to share with you.  The image on my card is from a cutting file that truly speaks to my heart - Java Great Day.  And, here's my card....

Recipe:
* Those pretty papers are from October Afternoon, one of my favorite paper companies.
* I used the old fashioned coffee peculator (reminds me of my grandparents) from the Java Great Day Cutting File.
* The coffee pot got a few doodles with my white gel pen and a Peachy Face from the Peachy Keen Stamp set Sweet and Innocent Face Assortment (PK-1300)

* I used a Copic marker to custom match my ribbon (I use Hug-Snug Seam Binding)
* The sentiment is from the Coffee Cozies Stamp Set by Lil' Inkers - and, in my opinion, truer words were never spoken!

The Java Great Day Cutting File is one of my favorites and is just full of cute coffee related images....
Perfect for the coffee lover in your life!
Well, that's it for me today.  Be sure to stop by Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons to see the amazing projects put together by the other designers.  There are some beautiful designs waiting for you!  Have a wonderful day and I'll be seeing you soon.....

Happy Father's Day!

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
I'm pretty sure all the people who visit my blog are women, so....Happy Father's Day to all the special Dads in your lives!  I've got a fun little treat for my hubby on this special day.....

Recipe:
* I found the toolbox cutting file over at the Silhouette Online Store. It was pretty simple to put together.  A bit of glue and a few brads did the trick.
* I stamped the Father's Day sentiment onto some white cardstock, matted it with the silver metallic paper and added some silver stick on "Bling" from Jolees.
* I added more silver bling on the sides of the tool box.

* The inside of the tool box is filled with my hubby's favorite candy!

Happy Father's Day to my sweet husband!

Until next time,

Noteworthy.....

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner.
I'm glad you stopped by because today I am a Guest Designer on the Twine it up with Trendy Twine Blog and I've got a sweet project to share with you....
Recipe:
* I used my Spellbinders "Grand Scalloped Squares" die to create my notebook covers from lightweight cardboard.  I also used the die to cut some pretty patterned paper to cover the cardboard and to cut my inside pages.
* The sweet little blue bird and musical notes are from the Silhouette Online Store.
* Sentiment is from the "Life is Good" stamp set by My Creative Time
* After decorating my cover, I used my Cinch to put my little notebook together.
* The beautiful twine at the top of notebook is called Blue Berry - isn't it a pretty shade of blue?
* I cut 2 strips of Blue Berry Twine about 5 inches long and tied them to each wire at the top of my notebook.  I repeated that process 2 more times to give the twine a nice full look.
* After tying all my twine, I trimmed everything evenly.

Here's a better look at this pretty twine....

Pretty, huh?

Well, that's about it for me today.  As always, thanks so much for stopping by. I always look forward to your visits and sweet comments!  Be sure to stop by Annie's Paper Boutique (Home of Trendy Twine) and check out the newest twine colors and current sales!

Rock A Hula

Hi there and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
How's your week going so far?  I'm still trying to recover from our week of VBS and attempting to get my house back in order after a week with the grands.  Cleaning house sure puts a crimp in my crafting time!

I don't know about your neck of the woods, but we have been having summer-like temps for what seems like a very, very long time here in Southeast Alabama.  It's hot, humid, muggy and steamy around here these days and there seems to be no relief in sight.  So....I think I'm just gonna get a cold drink, crank up some Jimmy Buffett, close my eyes and pretend to be on secluded tropical island somewhere enjoying the sea breezes and maybe...just maybe...doing a little Rock a Hula.....

Can't you just smell that clean, fresh ocean breeze?

Recipe:
* I created the Candy Tube Holder with a cutting file from SVG Cutting Files. (I extended the back on mine).
* My adorable little Hula girl is from the New Peachy Keen Stamps stamp set Rock a Hula (PK-1254).  Isn't she just cute as can be?

* I colored my little Island Cutie with my Copic markers.
* The sand is created with Kraft paper and lots of glitter.
* The starfish is from the PKS June Stamp Set (PKSC-18)

* The tops of the palm trees are from the Silhouette Online Store.  I added some dark brown pearls to the center of each tree for coconuts!  Then I used my hot glue gun to glue the tree tops to my candy tubes - ta da....instant palm trees!

Ok, I guess I have to head back downstairs and finish cleaning this house.  But, in my mind, I'll still be doing the Hula with a cool drink in one hand and Jimmy Buffett singing in my ear!  Have a great island day everyone!

Until next time,

VBS 2013 - Kingdom Rock

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by Nonna's Craft Corner!
We just wrapped up another awesome VBS at Westgate Church of Christ and I thought I would share a few pictures with you.  My husband, myself and a very good friend worked on the set for about 2 months before VBS actually started.  We had some major ups and downs with this one (like a screen falling on it and crushing part of it), but we managed to pull it together...

*The castle walls are made of 2 inch foam insulation sheets that are 4 X 8 feet.  We cut, painted, glued, nailed and duct taped the sections together to form our walls.

* The "torches" were ordered from Group and run on batteries.  They have a tiny little fan that blows the "fire" and the kids loved them.

* A wonderful friend let us borrow several of the props we used this year.  The throne and this table added so much to our set - thank you Susan!

* We filled paint buckets with cement and inserted PVC pipe into the cement to help support each column.  The PVC runs up the back of each column.  At the top we added a T joint and a small piece of PVC to jut out in front of the set.  We used these to drape our purple fabric over the front of the set.

* It was a wonderful blessing to have 2 of my 4 grands attend this year's VBS!
Emma and Blake and had a great time!
You can see more of the VBS sets we worked on over the past few years by clicking here.

I know this isn't my "usual" type of project to share with you, but it's been a major part of my life for the last few months and I just had to show you!  Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll be seeing you (with a more "typical" project to share) soon.....

Until next time,

"Sunny Days" Challenge at the Peachy Keen Connection

Hi there and welcome!
Thanks for stopping by today.  I thought I would share my simple, but cute project for the "Sunny Days" Challenge going on over at The Peachy Keen Connection.  This challenge ends on Sunday (June 9th) so you still have a chance to play along with us!  You can read all the details about the challenge over at the PKC, but the most important detail about this one is "your project must include the sun on it."  So....here's mine......

Recipe:

* I found this cute frame at HL, but it had an UGLY wooden, painted fish on it.  I pried that ugly little guy off the frame and got busy with my PK Stamps!
*  The fun octopus, starfish and sentiment are from the newest Peachy Keen Stamps Release PKSC-18

(Aren't these just the cutest?)

* My sweet little sunshine is made with the Peachy Keen "Large Sun" stamp (PK-246)

Be sure to check out the challenges going on over at The Peachy Keen Connection, you still have time to play along and there are some great Peachy prizes up for grabs!

I'm a "Twine it up with Trendy Twine" Guest Designer

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
I've got some fun news to share with you today - I am the June Guest Designer over at the Twine it up with Trendy Twine Blog!  I love crafting with twine and I am so excited to be a guest designer for Lesley this month!  So....let's get onto my first project for the month!

I needed to put together a special "thank you" for a very special friend.  I came across the cutest little black and white polka dot bucket at Hobby Lobby and thought how cute it would be with a POP of yellow.  Yellow made me think of bees...and bees made me think of flowers....and...well, one thing lead to another....

Recipe:
* I started my project by wrapping some pretty Lemon Tart twine around the bottom of my bucket.  I went up about 3 inches, applying drops of Glossy Accents along the way to hold the twine in place.

* Next, I created a cute little accent piece from the Lemon Tart twine by wrapping the twine across a piece of 3 inch cardstock several times, tying in the center then clipping the ends.  I added a black button to the center and used my hot glue gun to add my twine accent to the top of my bucket.
* The fun little bumble bee is from the "Honey Bees Cutting File" by Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons. I added a cute little bow to her hair using some sweet twine in Tickled Pink.
* My flower is from the Silhouette Online Store and the center is made of Lemon Tart twine.

* I came across some chalkboard plant markers at my craft store and thought it would be fun to wrap the stick portion with a bit of twine also!  I added a sweet sentiment and my friends name, stuck it into a pretty white Germanium plant and there you go... a special thank you for a special friend!

I look forward to sharing another fun Trendy Twine project with you next month!  Be sure to visit the Twine it up with Trendy Twine Blog when you get a chance - you will just love all the beautiful shades of twine they have in stock!

Until next time,

Follow Your Dreams!

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
I hope your week is going well for you.  Mine has been very, very busy as I'm in the middle of our VBS week at my church.  We had 109 kids in attendance last night!  I also have 2 of my grands staying with me, so things are pretty busy around here these days.

This week is just flying by and I can't believe it's already time for another Design Team Day over at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons!  I used the beautiful Home Sweet Home Cutting File to create this sweet, sweet shape card.....

This card is for a special couple I know that are going to begin building the home they have dreamed of for a long time.  I am so excited for them!

Recipe:
* Home Sweet Home Cutting File from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.  I used the "offset feature" to create the card base, duplicated the layer, welded the 2 pieces and cut with my Cameo.
*  After cutting all the layers for my house, I inked up the edges and assembled the sweet little house.

* I hand cut a small sign for the door and stamped my sentiment using the "Teeny Tag Greetings" stamp set from "My Creative Time".

I really love the way this sweet card came together.  I love that Lisa's files because there are lots of easy to assemble layers that add so much dimension and texture to my projects.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Be sure to check out the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Blog to see the beautiful projects created by our talented Design Team.

Life's a BEACH

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by!
Have you been enjoying the fabulous sneak peeks going on over at Peachy Keen Stamps?  This new release is just amazing..Kathy, our fearless leader, has done it again!

Today is the last day of sneak peeks and the Peachy Keen Stamps Release Party will be tomorrow night (Wed, June 5th) at 6:00 CDT.  So...before the party gets started, let me share another little sneak peek with you.....

Recipe:
* All stamps used in this project are from the Peachy Keen Stamps new June Stamp of the month club (PKSC-18).
* I came across this fun Shovel Slider Card at SVG Cutting Files and I knew it would be the perfect background for these fun summer stamps.
* After cutting and assembling my slider card, I stamped the sentiment "Life's a Beach" onto the pull out portion of my card.
* I stamped the "Fun in the Sun" sentiment onto a piece of Kraft paper and covered it with some coarse glitter for some sparkle and shine.
* A few stitching lines with my white gel pen and a pretty blue bow finished up this part of my card.
* In this picture, you can see how the slider portion of the card fits into the little pocket.
* I made some "sand" by hand cutting 2 strips of Kraft paper and covering it with glitter.
* The sand castle was stamped onto Kraft paper and I inked up the edges and added a few sprinkles of glitter. Then, I used pop dots to add it to my card.
* The starfish is colored with Copic markers and I added a few dots here and there using an Atyou Glitter Pen in Gold.

* The cute beach ball was colored with my Copic Markers then covered with 2 coats of Glossy Accents.  I love the way it shines!

Well, that's my last sneak peek for you this month!  I hope you can join the Peachy Keen Designers at the Release Party tomorrow night at The Peachy Keen Connection.  There will be fun, inspiration, games and prizes...you don't want to miss it!  Unfortunately, I will miss the party (insert sad face here).  This week is our VBS program at church and I will be helping out and watching my grandkids enjoy themselves (insert smiley face here)!  So, I'll miss you all, but I'll be seeing you soon!

Happy Summer!

Hi there and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
I'm so happy that you dropped by today, because...you know what time it is?  It's time for the June Peachy Keen Stamps Sneak Peeks!!!  Oh my gosh - I wish I could share them all with you right this very minute because they are so cute you aren't going to be able to stand it!  Kathy has designed the most adorable stamps, just perfect for summer!  Here's my first sneak to share with you....

Those of you who pop in for visits regularly know that our 4th grandchild was born on May 28th (and...yes...she's gorgeous...thank you for asking)!  I wanted something to take to her big brothers when we went to visit.  So, I found these cool buckets with a built in water hose and all sorts of fun water toys inside.  I knew these would be perfect for 2 busy little boys, but of course, I had to dress them up just a bit!
Recipe:
* The mat for my tag is cut from the Spellbinders die "Curved Matting Basics A"
* The fun sand bucket, shovel and sentiment are all from this months' new Peachy Keen Stamps Release (PKSC-18).
* I hand cut a couple layers of "sand" using Kraft paper and covered them with glitter.

* I added a few stitching lines with my white gel pen and used some twine to hang my tags onto the handle of the bucket.
And because boys will be boys....I added their names to the buckets using some bright colored vinyl so there will be no confusion on which bucket belongs to which boy!

I just love the way these turned out...

Be sure to stop by the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog to see what the other Design Team Members have in store for you.  The sneaks start today and will go through Tuesday so be sure to pop in everyday so you won't miss a thing!  Thanks so much for stopping by today and I'll be seeing you with another sneak very soon!
