Addison Reece

Hello everyone and welcome! Thanks for stopping by today.  I'm happy to report that Hurricane Isaac has bypassed us completely!  We had a few minor sprinkles and a bit of a breeze - nothing else, thankfully.  Please continue to pray for those who have been hit by this storm.

Well, we finally had the baby shower for Miss Addison Reece and I can share with you the goodies I made!  Her parents are going to be calling her "Addie Reece"....isn't that cute?  And, her mommy is decorating her room in pink and orange with cute, girly safari animals.  So, here's the banner I came up with....

I know the picture isn't great - it's really a challenge to get a decent photo of a full banner.

Recipe:
* I used the Cricut cart "Birthday Bash", cutting the orange and pink layers at 6.75 inches.
* The pink layer is embossed with the "Bit of Paisley" embossing folder
* The white doily is from "Elegant Edges" cut at 5.5 inches
* Letters are from "Kate's ABCs", cut at 4 inches

* The zebra is from "Create A Critter" and is cut at 4 inches.

I also made these cute little baby shoe favor boxes for Addie Reece....

These are from the Silhouette Online Store.  I think they turned out really cute, but they were kind of time consuming. After cutting out about 60 of them, I inked up the edges, laced them with ribbon, assembled and filled with mints.

I don't have the photo yet, but we placed the shoes around the flower arrangement on the food table and it really was adorable, if I do say so myself!  Hope to have a photo to share with you soon.

Addie Reece is due to join her sweet family in about 3 weeks and I look forward to meeting her!  And, now I'm off to work on a birthday card for a very special little boy.  My sweet grandson, Brayden is celebrating his very first birthday today!  We will be heading to his birthday party in a few days and I've got to get busy! Thanks again for stopping by, I hope you have a wonderful day!

Until next time,

Autumn Days

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by!
My title for today's post, "Autumn Days" is pretty much wishful thinking on my part!  As a matter of fact, as I write this, we are getting ready for what will be soon be Hurricane Isaac.  At this point it looks as if we will be getting lots of rain and possibly some wind.  We have put away all the pool toys, lawn chairs and anything that looks like it might take flight!  The forecast for our area is lots and lots of rain and thunderstorms over the next few days.  I think we will be fine...wet...but fine.  Don't forget to say a prayer for all those who will not be getting off as lightly.

Ok, on to my card!  I have been having so much fun playing along with the Peachy Keen weekly challenges.  I have used stamped sentiments for a long time, but coloring stamped images is pretty new for me.  I'm still a bit intimidated by my Copic Markers, but I am enjoying them more and more with each image I color.  This week's challenge (Challenge 31) is a sketch challenge.  Here's my version of this week's sketch...

I just love scarecrows and this little guy is so, so cute!

Recipe:
* I started with a Kraft paper card base
*Printed papers are from the DCWV paper stack "Autumn Splendor"
*Scarecrow - Peachy Keen - "Faceless Scarecrow Dolls-Large"
* Face - Peachy Keen - "Monster Mash Face Assortment"
* Sentiment - CTMH - "Charmed" stamp set
* Leaves - Cricut - "Art Philosophy" cartridge
* Copic Markers

* I used my sewing machine to do a bit of stitching around the layers
* I gathered my Crinkle Ribbon to create a ruffle effect
* Leaves were embossed with "Divine Swirls" embossing folder.

Well, that's my card for today!  I need to get busy and get supper on the table.  I hope to have another project to share with you in a few days, but I'm thinking that may depend on the weather.  I'm hoping that we don't lose power, but you just never know about these hurricanes!  If you are anywhere in the path of this store, batten down the hatches and you will be in my prayers!

Until next time,

Coffin Break Anyone?

Happy Saturday to you and thanks for stopping by!
This is going to be a busy weekend for me, so I am making my post in the wee hours of Saturday morning knowing that I have to get up in a few hours and put in some serious time working in my very neglected yard.....sigh.  I would so much rather be scrapping.  Sunday will be spent going to church, out to lunch and then helping host a baby shower (this part of the weekend is fun).

Knowing that my weekend will probably be "scrap-free" has prompted me to stay up much to late to finish this fun, somewhat creepy (in a good way) project.  As soon as I saw the latest stamp release by Emma at My Creative Time and the Coffin she created using the Cricut "Artiste" cartridge, I knew just what I wanted to do.  As soon as those stamps arrived, I got started on my project.....

"Coffin Break"

* I used the Cricut cartridge "Artiste" to cut out the coffin on  page 76 at 7.5 inches.
* After assembling (very easy), I inked up all the edges with black ink and covered the top with this fun Halloween printed paper.
* Next, I started on the wreath....

* Using my Spellbinders Circle die, I cut a circle within a circle, creating a "wreath form"
* I used my Martha Stewart "Branches" paper punch and punched out branches in black and gray.
* Next, you just glue around the circle until you have it filled in
* I sprayed the branches with Glimmer Mist in "Silver".  It's hard to see in the photos, but it leaves a nice shimmer.
* The roses are from "The Paper Studio" (Hobby Lobby)
* I added a big, fluffy Crinkle Ribbon bow
* And of course, the sentiment is from "My Creative Time" (Treats For My Sweet)

Ok...here comes the fun part.....ready for the "Coffin Break"....

I filled my coffin with.....

Coffee!
Fun, huh?  These little coffee pods that I use in my Keurig coffee maker are just the right size!

Ok, a couple more details...
* I used the spider web stamp (also in this stamp set) along the sides of the coffin
* The black, glittered design along the top of the coffin is from Recollections (Michael's).  It is a fun, self-adhesive tape...very cool!

Ok, just wanted to share this with you before I head to bed and dream of weeding, picking up pine cones, and trimming hedges.....(insert big sigh here).  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  See ya soon!

Autumn Greetings

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by!
It's still really warm here in southeast Alabama, and I 'm sure it will be for quite some time.  But, I am so in the mood for fall.  I have always loved the colors of fall - the oranges, yellows, browns and reds.  Fall is such a pretty time of year!  So, I've pulled out all of my pretty fall papers and embellishments, cranked up the ac, got my maple scented candles burning and tah...dah....instant fall!  I found a couple of fun challenges to enter and got my fall on....

Recipe:
* I started with a Kraft paper card base
* Printed papers are from the "Natural Botanical" paper stack by The Paper Studio
* Sunflower is from the Silhouette Online Store
* The ivory colored mat is embossed with the "Polka Dots" embossing folder
* Buttons and trim from my stash
* Sentiment - from a fall stamp set that is not marked, so I don't know who made these
* A bit of machine stitching

I am going to enter my card into the following challenges:

* Paper Playtime - "Polka Dots & A Sentiment"
* Tuesday Morning Sketches - "Sketch #160"

Well, I guess that's about it for me right now. Thanks for sharing my little bit of "fall".  I hope the real thing comes around soon!  Take care and I'll be seeing you soon.

Another Treat Box

Hi there and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
I hope your week is going well for you.  So far, so good around here.  I've spent most of my morning cleaning house (ugh), but I'm taking a few minutes for a quick bite of lunch and a fast post.  I finished another fun Halloween treat box last night using the Cricut "Artiste" cartridge....

These go together so quickly....I love it!  Here's the recipe for this one:

*Box - "Artiste" cartridge - image on page 49, cut at 5 inches
* I cut the box with Bazzill cardstock, then covered the lid and lined the bottom with some cute Halloween paper
* I used Spellbinders "Labels 25" for the mat
* Black cat is from "Chic & Scary" cut at 3.25 inches and covered with black glitter
* Sentiment is from "Pink By Design"
* A few doodles, fun twine and gems for spooky eyes finish this one up!

If you missed the first Halloween treat box I created, you can see it here.

Ok, like I said...fast post today!  Back to cleaning (ugh...again).  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful, crafty kinda day!

Until next time,

Peachy Challenge #31 AND a Winner!

Hello everyone and welcome to my little Craft Corner!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are ready to start a new week.  I've got a fun project to share with you today....and...a winner!  I have the winner's name for my little give away from the It's A Rainbow Party Blog Hop that I participated in last week.  I want to thank everyone who stopped by for a visit, wasn't it a fun hop?  I had 53 lovely comments, so I asked my hubby to choose a number between 1 and 53 and he chose...........

Number 23 - Chriss!
Congrats to you Chriss!  Please use the "Contact Corner" tab at the top of my blog to leave me your mailing address.  I'll get your gift out to you soon!

Be sure to check Candace's blog at Scrappin' 2 Little Princesses for the winners of the awesome prizes supplied by the fabulous sponsors of our blog hop!

Ok, on to today's project!  This week's challenge at Peachy Keen Stamps is called "Box It Up".  The challenge is to decorate or create a box.  Well, I just recently got the new Cricut cartridge "Artiste" in my hot little hands, so I thought this challenge would the perfect time to try out one of the cute 3D projects on this cart.  I'm also in the mood to work on fall projects....so, this is what I came up with...

Recipe:
* Box - Cricut cartridge "Artiste" page 49 cut at 5 inches
* After cutting out and assembling the box, I covered the lid with cute paper from the "Spooksville" paper stack by "The Paper Studio".  The edges were created with a Martha Stewart punch.
* I lined the inside of the box and the 2 ends with more fun printed paper.

* My cute little monster is from the Silhouette Online Store
* I used the Peachy Keen stamp set "Monster Face Assortment" for that sweet little face!
* I had cut a "Trick or Treat" bag and stamped it with a "Pink By Design" stamp
* Martha Stewart glitter adds a bit of bling to my monster's hairdo!
* A few doodles with my white gel pen and some cute purple twine are the finishing touches.

* "Happy Halloween" is from the Pink By Design stamp set "A Haunting We Will Go".
And, there you go, a cute little Halloween gift for one of my little monsters!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you've enjoyed my "Box It Up" project.  Please drop by again soon - I love your visits and your sweet comments just make my day!  Take care and I'll be seeing you soon.

Memo Board for Courtney

Hello everyone and happy Friday to you!
I've got a quick post to share with you today then it's back to work for me.  I'm putting the finishing touches on the baby shower project I've been working on and hope to share it with you soon.

If you are looking for the "Rainbow Party" Blog Hop that I took part in this week, you can see that post HERE.  You still have time to check it out and leave a comment for a chance to win my little give-away.  I'll be posting the winner's name on Monday.

My son called me recently to see if I could put together a little something for his girlfriend's birthday.  Courtney just graduated from Auburn University and is about to be entering the world of employment and all the "busyness" that goes along with it, so I thought that maybe a pretty memo board would be helpful when it comes to keeping up with appointments, interviews, and those never-ending "to do" lists.  I knew that I wanted it to be pink and blingy and I found the perfect memo board to work with at Office Depot....

I love that this is half magnetic/white board and half pretty bulletin board!

I pulled out some pretty pink vinyl and cut Courtney's initials using the Cricut cartridge "Nursery Rhymes".  The outside letters are cut at 3 inches and the middle letter is cut at 4 inches.  After placing them on the magnetic board, I added some clear gems for a bit of bling....

I also added a clear gem to the center of each black button on the bulletin board side.

Next, using the "Flower Shoppe" cartridge, I made 3 flowers from the "Ooh La La" paper stack and glued each of them to the top of  a magnet using my hot glue glue.  I love the way the flowers add a punch of color.....

And there you go!  This was really quick and easy to put together and I think it turned out super cute.  Happy Birthday Courtney!

Ok, it's back to work for me.  I hope you all have a wonderfully fabulous weekend, and I'll be seeing you soon!

Until next time,

You're The Best!

Hi there!  Hope your weekend has been a good one for you.  I spent most of my Saturaday in my craft corner.  This morning my hubby and I went to church, out to lunch, stopped to pick up some chalk (you'll see why in a minute), played with Lola, read the paper...then...a long Sunday afternoon nap for me!  I do love my naps!  After my nap, I spent about an hour trying to get a decent picture of my card....no luck.  I tried it in my light box, in the sun room - blinds open, blinds half open, blinds closed....ugh.  Easel cards are just hard for me to photo...if the top portion looks ok, the bottom looks out of whack and vice-versa.  So after about a zillion photos, I just gave up!

Ok, today's card (bad photos and all) is for my sweet granddaughter, Emma, who will be entering the 2nd grade in about a week.  I don't know when my baby girl grew up, but it seems she is well on her way....(big sigh).  I used my fun August Peachy Keen stamp set for this card...

Recipe:
* Bazzill cardstock for card base
* Printed paper - "October Afternoon" and "The Paper Studio"
* DCWV - Chalkboard paper (see why I needed chalk?)
* Peachy Keen August stamp set
* Twine - "Pink Paislee"
* Button - from my stash
*Copic Markers
* Glossy Accents

*The "wooden" part of the chalkboard is embossed with the "Woodgrain" embossing folder.
* I added Glossy Accents to her eyeglasses for some shine
* Her clothing is paper-pieced with cute "October Afternoon" scraps

I'm entering Emma's card into the Peachy Keen Challenge #30 - "Just Cards - Popped Up".  The challenge is to "pop up" your images.  I used pop dots all over the place on this one, but then again, I usually do...love my pop dots!

Well, I guess that's about it for me today.  I need to get a few "non-crafty" things done around this house...(insert another big sigh here).  I hope you enjoy the little bit of time remaining in this weekend and have a wonderful Monday!

Until next time,

Fab{u}lous

Hello and happy Friday to you!
Whoo-hoo the weekend is finally here!  What are your plans for the weekend?  I'm planning on staying in my PJs all day tomorrow and crafting my day away.  I have so many projects going on and would love to cross a couple of them off my list!

I'm sure that most of you know Madison of "Funky Cards" and I'm sure that many of you are familiar with her I Feel The Love project. If you aren't, you really should hop over to her blog and check it out.  Each month Madison selects a special person in need of encouragement and uplifting.  She then does a little write up about this person on her blog and encourages crafters to create something special just for that person.  Personally, I think I get more of a blessing by participating than the person on the receiving end!  I so admire Madison for putting her creative talents to such a wonderful purpose.  This month, Madison is collecting cards for a sweet young lady named Olivia.  Olivia is 9 years old and recently lost her mother to cancer.  You can read more about Olivia's story here.  Here's the card I created for Olivia...

Recipe:
* Fun paper is from the "Uptown Flair" paper stack
* Scalloped mats are from the Cricut cartridge "Elegant Edges"
* I used the new "Anya Lifts" stamp from "The Greeting Farm"
* Sentiment is from "Pink By Design"
* Sentiment mat is from "Spellbinders
* Hot pink ribbon is from "My Craft Spot"

I colored my image with my Copic Markers and paper-pieced the balloons with scraps from this cute paper stack, "Uptown Flair".

* I am linking this card up in the challenge going on over at Cooking With Cricut - "I Feel The Love"

I hope this fun card puts a smile on Olivia's sweet face!
Ok, I'm off to get a few things accomplished around this house so that I can craft tomorrow without a guilty conscience...yeah...like a dirty house is going to bother me when I'm in the "crafting zone"!  Have a great weekend and I'll see you soon.

Until next time,

Silhouette Birdhouse

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner.  I hope your week is moving right along for you.  The weekend is getting closer and closer!

I have a cute Silhouette Cameo project to share with you today.  I am really enjoying this amazing machine and all the fabulous things it can do.  And, I really enjoy shopping in the Silhouette Online Store!  The selection is wonderful and every time I go shopping, I find so many cute images.  So, let me show you one of my latest finds....

Recipe:
* The birdhouse image is from the Online Store and is designed by "Snapdragon Snippets"
* Printed papers are from my favorite paper company - "October Afternoon"
*The flowers on each side are also from the Silhouette Online Store
*Everything is inked up with Distress Ink in "Pumice Stone"

I couldn't resist finding a twig to use for the perch!

Ok, that's it for me today.  I've had the grands over for a couple of days and I'm very behind on my blog visits, so I'm off to see what all of you creative people have been up to lately!  I'll be seeing you soon!

Until next time,

Thankful For U

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by!
We are still in the middle of a hot, muggy summer here in southeast Alabama, but the latest challenge going on over at Peachy Keen Stamps has me ready to work on fall projects.  This week's challenge is a color challenge using the colors, purple, cream, orange, brown and green.  With fall on my mind, this is what I came up with....

Just a few days ago, I made a trip to Hobby Lobby and they had their fall items marked down 40% (already).  This card was just perfect to use a few of my new embellishments!

Recipe:
* Card base - kraft paper with the corners rounded off
* Printed paper - scraps from several other projects
* I machine stitched around the edges of green plaid paper
*  Brown burlap ribbon - Hobby Lobby
* Fall floral spray - Hobby Lobby
* Raffia with button - Hobby Lobby
* Scarecrow - Cricut's "Simply Charmed" cut at 5 inches
* Face - Peachy Keen Stamp set "Monster Mash Face Assortment"
* Sentiment - Pink By Design "Bracketful"

Now I'm really in the mood for fall!  But, I'm sure it's still at least a good 2 months away for us, if not longer.  I hope you have a good week and I'll be seeing you soon!

Oh, before I go...thank you all for the sweet comments about my headaches. They will come and go with the crazy summer weather, but at least I can deal with them and really have no right to complain. But, I am thankful for your comments and concern...you guys are great!

Until next time,

Happy Birthday!

Hello everyone, welcome and thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you are having a great week.  I've had issues all this week with nasty little headaches that just won't seem to go away.  I have "weather induced" headaches....I know...crazy...right?  My head seems to think it's a barometer and when the atmospheric pressure is out of whack (like it is most of the summer in southeast Alabama), I have to deal with these headaches.  I am thankful that it hasn't been a bad one this time...just one of those that gets right behind your eye and doesn't want to go away.  Anyway...that's what "Excedrin Migraine" is for!

So, I do have a sweet little birthday card to share with you today....

Sweet, huh?

Recipe:
* Cupcake pocket card is from the Silhouette Online Store - (I ♥ this card)
* Papers - More gorgeous "October Afternoon"
* Cutie Pie birthday girl is from "The Greeting Farm" stamps
* Sentiment - "Pink By Design"
* Copic Markers
I love the way this little card is put together.  The "cupcake" pulls out of the "liner"....

I mean seriously...how cute is that?

I used a few pop dots to lift up my images and create some dimension....

And there you go....total sweetness!

Ok, I'm off to see what I can work on while this headache is not too bad. It's almost Friday so I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!  I'll be seeing you soon.

* I am linking this card to the DL. ART Happy Birthday Linky Party and Give-away!
