More Christmas in July!

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by!

It's Design Team Day over at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons and I have another "Christmas in July" project to share with you.  I need to do "Christmas in August" and "Christmas in September" and maybe I won't be running around like a crazy woman in December!  Who am I kidding?  It wouldn't matter - I would still have some last minute project to put together...sigh.  Oh well, it's a nice thought.  Enough wishful thinking, let me show you my cute little gift tags.....

Recipe:

* I used the Christmas Stocking Cutting Files for these sweet gift tags.

* I used the "offset" feature to create the white background, then cut the tags from some pretty, non-tradition Christmas papers.

* I added lots of Tinsel Glitter to the top of each stocking for some shimmer and some bright, hot pink tulle for tying the tags to my gifts.

* On the back of each stocking, I added a simple To and From sentiment using the Peachy Keen Stamps set PKSC-11.

Cute, huh?

Not only does this file make some cute gift tags, but these stockings would be great for a Christmas layout or sweet card.

You light up my life

Hello everyone and happy Sunday to you!

I hope your weekend has been going well for you.  I spent yesterday locked away in my craft corner working on a few projects for the upcoming August stamp release at Peachy Keen Stamps.  These stamps are some kinda cute and I can't wait to show you what I've been working on!

I also got a chance to play with the newest Friday Freebie (Cool Sun)  from Lisa at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.  How cool is this card.....

Recipe:

* I used a file from the Silhouette online store to created a "rocking card".  It's really very simple - basically just a circle folded in half for the card base.

* The fun sun is from the new Cool Sun Cutting File from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons

* My sentiment is from Peachy Keen Stamps - PKSC-16

* I added a bit of "Lemon Tart" twine from Trendy Twine and a few gems to finish up this bright, fun card.

I hope your week has been going well for you.  My week has just flown by.  I've been busy playing with the new stamps for the upcoming August Release by Peachy Keen Stamps.  They are super adorable and I know you will love them ♥

While you're waiting for the new stamps, we have another fun challenge for you to play along with! This week we have a beautiful Photo Inspiration Challenge and I decided to stick with our "Christmas in July" theme and use these pretty colors.....

Recipe:

* My cute little elf is from the PKSC-11 set.  I colored him up with my Copic markers

* I used some pretty Christmas paper following sticking with the colors used in the photo inspiration

* I added some wonky machine stitching around the edges of my mat

* I didn't have any ribbon that matched, so I colored a bit of white ribbon with a Copic marker to match.  Then, I added a layer of white pom poms.

* I also colored a few stars to add to the front of my card.

* The sentiment is also from the PKSC-11 set and is stamped onto a speech bubble created with the "Stitched Speech Bubbles" die by My Creative Time

Yay...another Christmas card to add to my stash! I need to continue our "Christmas in July" theme into August and September so I won't be in such a crunch come December!  Before I let you go, here are the details about this week's challenge.....

THE CHALLENGE
Create a project using the photo as inspiration. Interpret the photo ANY way you'd like, just be  sure to let us in on your creative process! The colors next to the photo are only suggested!
We'll be awarding "TOP PEACH" to the player who uses their Peachy Keen Stamps this week and  our two runner ups will receive a spiffy badge to display on their blog!
Guidelines:
- Design must be new

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner.

Today is a special day - it's my oldest son's birthday.

Happy Birthday Christopher!

I finally got a chance to play with a few of the stamps and dies I just received from the latest release over at My Creative Time.  This release is just awesome and made it pretty easy to put this simple card together.....

Recipe:

* I started off with these masculine papers from the Authentique "Curiosity Collection".  I distressed and inked up the edges, then used my sewing machine to stitch around the edges.

*The calendar is from the "Type Calendar" stamp set - I LOVE this set!

* I used the "Stitched Mini Frame & Arrow Die" set to highlight today's special date.  I stamped the word "celebrate" onto the bottom of my frame using the "Teeny Tag Greetings" stamp set.

* The star is from my stash of embellishments. I colored it with my Copic marker to match and stamped the number 23 in the center.

* I used a Copic marker to color my seam binding to match and tied it off to one side.

* The stick pin is from "Little Yellow Bicycle"

* I also used the "Stitched Heart Layering Dies" to create the little hearts in the corner.

And there you go!  I guess I need to apologize to my son because this card is still sitting on my craft table!  Sorry Christopher - it goes in the mail tomorrow!

Craft It Up & Link It Up Linky Party

Here is what I created for this linky party....

My youngest Grandson, Brayden will be turning 2 years old next month, so this challenge was perfect timing for me!  I decided to go ahead and make a birthday card and gift bag for my sweet boy.

Recipe for card:
* I started with a red cardbase and used a Spellbinders die to create the pretty edge along the bottom.
* The sweet little lion is from  the "Safari Love" cutting files by Lisa at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.  I added some fun balloons using the "Birthday Panda" cutting files also by PPPR.
* The sentiment on my card is from Peachy Keen Stamps PKSC-04

Recipe for gift bag:
* I started with a plain white gift bag - I try to keep a supply of white and kraft gift bags on hand all the time. They are perfect to dress up for any occasion.
*I cut a strip of the polka dot paper to fit around the top of my bag (about 2.5 inches in width).  I used a MS paper punch to create a pretty edge and glued the strip to the inside of my bag.
* Using the same background papers on my card and bag helps to tie everything together.
* This time I used the darling giraffe from the "Safari Love" cutting files by PPPR.  I changed out the heart shaped balloon on this image for another round balloon to keep things consistent.
* I used the new "Totally White" twine by Trendy Twine on all the balloons.

I think I covered most of the details on this project - hope I didn't put you to sleep!  I hope you are able to play along with this fun "Child's Birthday" Challenge this week. Go, get creative and be sure to link up your project over at Craftin Desert Divas.  I can't wait to see what you create!

* My stamped sentiments are from the "Live is Good" stamp set by My Creative Time

* After putting my popsicles together, I gave them all a spritz with some silver Glimmer Mist for a bit of sparkle.  It's hard to see on the photos, but it gives a nice icy shimmer to the pops.

* My journal mat is from the "Journal It" stamp set from My Creative Time.

Summer Fun!

Hello everyone!

I hope you are having a great day!  I don't have a project to share with you today - can you believe it?  We have been pretty busy around our house for the last couple of weeks.  We've been enjoying spending time with family and just relaxing a bit.  We had a house full of family for a couple days and had a great time catching up with them.....

The weather was great and most of our time was spent in and around the pool!

My granddaughter Emma and my niece Lily haven't seen each other in years.  They became instant friends and had a great time together.

After a year of trying to persuade my sweet hubby (ok, a year of nagging), I finally talked him into taking the RV plunge!  We took our first excursion this past weekend and had a wonderful time!  My Mama has been visiting us for the last couple of weeks and we met my brother at a half-way point so that he could take her back home.  After our little rendezvous, me, my hubby and Emma headed to a RV camping site near Callaway Gardens to spend the night. We wanted our first trip to be a short one and not too far away from home because we've never done this before and were not sure what we were getting into!

This is on the way to take my Mama back to meet my brother.  Traveling in style!

It was rainy at the campsite, but we enjoyed our first meal of Nachos inside the RV all nice and dry and cozy!

Emma loved her drop-down bunk bed above the cab.

So, I think we all really like this whole RVing thing!  Our trip pretty much went off without a hitch and I'm researching our next destination!  In the meantime, I've got to get my house back into order because apparently the cleaning fairy has her own RV and is on the road somewhere.  I'm also working on several projects and hope to have something fun to share with you in a few days.  Thanks so much for stopping by and letting me share some special photos with you!

Christmas Memories

Hello everyone and Happy Friday!

Thanks so much for stopping in for a visit today.  I've got another Peachy Keen Stamps "Christmas In July" project to share with you today.  This project features the super sweet Gingerbread set called Lorie and Al Gingerbread Set (PK-416).......

Recipe:

* I started off with this Printer's Tray that I picked up at Michael's

* I chose some pretty Christmas prints for my mats, inked up the edges and added a bit of machine stitching.

* 2 of the rectangles were decorated with the totally adorable Gingers and the other 4 are waiting for Christmas photos of my 4 equally adorable Grandchildren!

* I just love this cute little Ginger boy!  It's hard to tell in the photo, but all the "icing", the number 2013 and white scalloped photo mats are covered in sparkly white glitter.

*The white scalloped mats, banner and numbers were all cut using my Silhouette Cameo.

* The Gingers were colored using Copic Markers.

* I paper pieced the mixing bowl and oven mitt in the top corner rectangles.

* I tied a few pieces of pretty Crinkle Ribbon around the handle of my tray.

I'm really looking forward to adding photos of our sweet grands sitting around this year's Christmas tree!

I hope your week has been going well for you. It's been a busy one for me and all the talented Designers over at Peachy Keen Stamps as we share our projects showcasing this month's new stamp release.  If you missed these gorgeous "Christmas in July" stamps, you can see them all HERE.

I wanted to play along with the current Peachy challenge which is a fun sketch challenge.  You can see all the details about the challenge here.  I used the adorable add-on set PK-1326 for this SWEET card.....

I love gingers and this little couple is just too Sweet!

Recipe:

* I stamped the gingerbread body images onto kraft paper and cut them out.

* Next I stamped the icing image onto each body with Versamark ink, covered them with white embossing powder and used my heat gun to get a shinny look.

* Each ginger got a bit of red Stickles and a sweet twine bow.

* The sentiment and holly are both from this month's stamp of the month set PKSC-19

* After putting everything together, I added a big tulle bow for the finishing touch.

I hope your day is going well for you.  I have a lot planned for today - brunch with my son, granddaughter and mother then shopping.  Sounds like a good day to me!  If my post goes off as scheduled (fingers crossed) you should be seeing my card for Challenge #2 going on over at The Peachy Keen Connection.  This fun challenge is all about VACATION......

I had so much fun with my "shaker card" style gift tags, I thought I would give it another try!

Recipe:

* Printed papers are from the "Key Lime" collection by Bo Bunny

* My shaker card is filled with Martha Stewart Coarse Glitter

This style of card is just so much fun!

Christmas Tags and Stamp Give-Away

I hope you had a wonderful, relaxing weekend and are ready for some more "Christmas In July" with Peachy Keen Stamps.  To help celebrate the newest stamp release we have a couple of fun challenges going on over at The Peachy Keen Connection:

I thought I would share my project for Challenge Number 1, which is to create a Christmas project of your choice without using the colors red or green......

I love to decorate my Christmas gifts with big bows and pretty gift tags.

So, for this challenge I created a couple of sweet "shaker style" gift tags.

Recipe:

* I used the "Stitched Capture" Frame by My Creative Time to make the base for my tags.

* The darling little penguins and sentiment are from the July Stamp of the Month Set - PKSC-19

* I used some Martha Stewart coarse glitter between the layers for lots of sparkle.

* I colored some seam binding with my Copic marker to match my polka dot paper and added a fun snowflake to the bottom of each tag.

* The twine at the top of the tags is "Totally White" by Trendy Twine and it got a hit with my Copic marker for a perfect match - love that!

I've been having so much fun with our "Christmas In July" theme that I decided to have a little give-away of my own!  How about this fun little Peachy Keen Set.....

Christmas in July with PKS

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
Did you make it to the Peachy Keen Stamps Release Party over at The Peachy Keen Connection last night?  If you didn't make it, you can still head over and check out all the wonderful new stamps, inspiration by the Design Team and fun challenges!

In the meantime, I've got another sweet "Christmas In July" card to share with you.....

Told ya it was sweet!

Recipe:

* I created my card base with Spellbinders "Grand Scalloped Squares"

* The white background mat is embossed with the Sizzix  "Snowflakes" folder

* The darling Gingerbread house is PK-1329.  Everything is colored with my Copic Markers.

* The sentiment is from this month's Stamp of the month set PKSC-19

* I used some bright green ribbon and a bit of "Cherry Cupcake" twine by Trendy Twine.

* I colored and cut out an extra peppermint for the front of my house.  I covered the candy with Glossy Accents and used a pop dot to adhere it once it was dry.

* I added some jewels and a bow of "Cherry Cupcake" twine to the wreath on the front door.

* The "icing" along the roof line and on the chimney got a bit of Stickles for some sparkle and shine.

Christmas in July with PKS

Hello everyone and welcome to the fourth and final day of fabulous new release "sneak peeks" by Peachy Keen Stamps.  This month's release is sure to get you in the Christmas spirit and the Design Team has put together some gorgeous projects for your inspiration.  I've got a sweet project to share with you today made with the new Stamp Of the Month Set and a couple of the Add On sets.....

Recipe:
* I started with a plain 4X12 canvas that I purchased from Michael's. I painted my canvas with a pretty lime green paint.

* I used a red stripe and solid white for my background mat, stitching the two layers together with a crazy, loopy stitch on my sewing machine.
* Next comes the fun part! I colored each of my cars with my Copic Markers and got busy with the embellishments.  Warning: Lots of Glitter was used of this project!

* The train, adorable Santa and sentiment are all from the Stamp Club Set (PKSC-19).
* I pop dotted my wheels and the ice cream cone.

* These 2 cars are from the Add-On set "Sweet Carts" (PK-1327)
* All the wheels and the fun sucker are pop-dotted and covered with glitter.

*Just look at that cute little caboose!  The last car is from the Add-On Set "House Train" (PK-1325). The roof and peppermint candies are all pop-dotted and covered in glitter.

I just love all the sparkle and shine on this piece!

It's Design Team Day over at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons and I have the perfect 4th of July card to share with you.  I used the Star Spangled Card Cutting File for my quick and easy card....

I love this cutting file!

The entire card is included in this awesome file, including the cardbase. All you have to do is cut it out and put it together. How easy is that?

Recipe:

* These beautiful printed papers are from the "Vintage Nation" paper stack by The Paper Studio (from Hobby Lobby)

* I inked up all the edges with Vintage Photo ink by Ranger

* The sentiment is from Peachy Keen Stamps

* I pop dotted my stars to add a bit of dimension to my card.

So....did you know that there are only 176 days left until Christmas?  Yep...that's all!  And, you and I both know just how quickly those 176 days are gonna fly by!

Not to worry - Kathy, our fearless leader from Peachy Keen Stamps has created a gorgeous collection of Christmas stamps to help you get started on all your Christmas cards, gifts, tags and home decor!  You are not gonna believe how cute these stamps are!  The sneaks started today and I've got a cute little project that would make the perfect teacher gift, hostess gift or "just because" treat.......

Recipe:

* The treat box is from the Silhouette Online Store.

* That cutie pie little penguin, candy cane and sign are all from this month's new release (PKSC-19).

* I colored everything up with my Copic Markers

* I also added some silver Stickles to the chain on the sign

* I tied up the treat box with some "Cranberry" Twine from Trendy twine and added a fun blue jingle bell.
