Yarned and Dangerous!

Hello everyone and welcome to my quiet little corner.
I say quiet because I just got home from taking my sweet Blake back home to his Mommy and Daddy! It's going to take me while to get used to the quiet around here after having him with us for the last few days. He was a sweetheart for his entire visit and a joy to have with us! I'm going to plan on getting him again in the very near future.  But, for now, it's time to get back to the "Craft Corner" portion of this blog...

Last week I made a journal for my Mama (you can see it here) when I visited her at my Aunt's house. While I was at it, I went ahead and made one for my Aunt...after all, she did put me and my hubby up for the night! My Mama and my Aunt are two seriously crafty ladies and I created these journals with that theme in mind.  Here is the journal I made for Aunt Peggy...

Cute, huh?
*For this journal, I started out with 6 X 6 inch chipboard.
*I inked up the edges with with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink and covered the the chipboard in this cute paper by Cosmo Cricket (Double Deck - Material Girl/Garden Variety).
*I used a Martha Stewart punch for the border along the side.
*The yarn is from Cricut's Country Life and is cut at 4.5 inches.

*After putting together the layers of my image, I used Glossy Accents on the knitting needles.

And how PERFECT is this stamp?
*Sentiment is from the Material Girl stamp set by Pink By Design.
*Pearls are Liquid Pearls in "Buttercup".

Here is a look at the back of my journal....

And here are the two journals...one for Mama and one for Aunt Peggy...

In case you are interested, I do have a tutorial for putting together the larger journal over at
Pink By Design.  The post is called Hem Your Blessings and you can see it here.

Well, I think I'm about ready to call it a night. I'm going to go let "Calgon take me away" for awhile and just relax.  If all goes according to plan, I'll be back in my Craft Corner tomorrow working on some projects to share with you over the next few day...see ya soon!

Until next time,
Tanya

We Interrupt the "Craft Corner" portion of this blog.....

...to share a bit of the "Nonna" portion!
Sorry, but no cards today, no layouts today, no mini albums today...I've got something even better!
My grandson, Blake is staying with us for a few days and he and Emma are having a great time....

How cute are these guys?

Ok, hope this buys me an excuse for this week's "one scrapbook layout per week" challenge!
I'm enjoying spending times with these special little people and will be crafting again very soon!

Until next time,
Tanya...er....Nonna

Hem Your Blessings

Good morning and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner.
Today I would like to share with you my Design Team project for Pink By Design.
I used the newly released stamp set Material Girl and Sewing Background on this cute little journal that I put together for my Mama!

This started out with 2 pieces of 8 X 8 chipboard which I covered in designer paper and tan cardstock that I stamped using the Sewing Background stamp with a chocolate colored ink.
The sewing machine is from Cricut's "Country Life" cartridge and is cut at 4 inches.
The flower is from "Mother's Day Bouquet" with layers being cut at 1.25, 1.5 and 1.75 inches.
The sentiment stamp is from the Material Girl stamp set and the mats are from Nestabilities.

(close up of sentiment and flower)

(sewing machine)

(inside pages)

I have more pictures and information on how I put the journal together at Pink By Design.
I would really appreciate it if you pop over there and check out my project and this great stamp set!
As always, I so appreciate you taking the time to stop in for a visit and I love reading your sweet comments!
Until next time,
Tanya

Sending A Trunk Full Of Love

Hello and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner.
Yippee...it's Friday! Do you have a fun weekend planned?  I'm thinking mine is going to be pretty busy.  But, I did manage to squeeze in some crafty time this afternoon and managed to complete a card (thanks to some inspiration from a great sketch)!
Before I share my card with you, I have a question for you.  Did you know that Pink By Design has added a fun, friendly, helpful Community Forum?  If you haven't already stopped by to check it out, I hope you will.  It's really a fun place to visit with lots of inspiration, suggestions, tips, challenges and a place to share your creative projects.  The card I'm about to share with you was created for this week's challenge, Let's Get Sketchy!  I encourage you to hop on over and check out this great new message board.

Now, let me show you my card...

(Isn't he a cutie?)

Recipe:
* Paper - DCWV - Blossom Song Paper Stack
* Green mat - cut with Elegant Edges, oblong feature from page 24 at 6 inches
* White mat - Nestabilities - Eyelet Circles
* Elephant - Birthday Bash cut at 2.75 inches
* Sentiment - Pink By Design - Jungle Fever.
* White Gel pen for dots
* Polka Dot ric-rac from Michael's
* Hot Pink Gems from Recollections

And there you go...a bright, happy, fun card to send you off to your weekend!
Have a great weekend everybody!
Until next time,
Tanya

You Spice Up My Life

Good morning everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner.
I hope your day is going well for you!

Today I have a sweet little card to share with you.  I'm really proud of this card because I made it on my...
wait for it.....I made it on my....Imagine!  Can you believe it?  I finally dusted off  that poor, lonely baby and cranked her up!  And I have to add...my inspiration came from my wonderful bloggy friend Theresa at
Scrappers Anonymous.  Theresa makes the most wonderful cards and has really been putting her Imagine to good use.  I hope you will pop over to her place and take a look at her wonderful creations!

Thanks again Theresa for the inspiration and here's my card....

For this card I used Kate's Kitchen on my Imagine.
I added a bit of Diamond Stickles on the "poof" coming from each spice can.
Twine and a button compliment my sentiment tag. And the sentiment is from one of the newest
stamp sets from Pink By Design called Kitchen Puns!

Aren't these little guys cute?
You can see the entire stamp set Kitchen Puns here.

I'm really happy with the way my Imagine worked on this card.  And thanks to Theresa I think I may be cranking her up much more often in the coming days!  Enjoy your day and I'll see you soon!
Until next time,
Tanya

Happy Day

Hello and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
I hope you are having a Happy Day!  It's been a good one here.  I managed to get in a long overdue hair appointment this morning, go to lunch with some fabulous friends, get some laundry done and still had time to go upstairs and play with all my scrapping toys this afternoon!  Ahh...life is good!
I'm trying to keep up with my self-imposed challenge of completing one scrapbook layout per week.
It's only Tuesday and I just finished putting together a sweet layout for this week. I used a great sketch from
Sketch Savvy for inspiration. If you haven't visited their site, you really need to pop over there!
Here's the sketch I used for today's layout...

Isn't that beautiful?

And here's my take on this gorgeous sketch...

For this layout I used the paper stack "All About Boys" from DCWV

(what a good looking family!)
For the banners, I used Birthday Bash cutting the banners in various sizes from 1.5 to 2.5 inches.
The phrase Happy Day is from Cricut American Alphabet cut at 2 inches.

I'm so happy that my scrapbook challenge has been handled for this week!  Now it's back upstairs to work on more Pink By Design projects. My Design Team project will be posting this Sunday the 26th and I hope you will stop by here and at Pink By Design.  I always appreciate your visits and your kind comments!

Until next time,
Tanya

Let Your Light Shine

Good morning and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner
I don't know how my weekend slipped past me so quickly, but here it is...Monday again!
One good thing about Mondays...time for another Challenge Me Monday
over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge BlogThis week's challenge is to create a project with a sun on it.  Remember to use at least one Cricut cut somewhere on your project.
Here's my card for this week's challenge....

Recipe:
* Paper - DCWV - Playtime Stack
* Card base - Card/Tag Feature from Birthday Bash cut at 5.25 inches
* Mat- Nestablitities - Beaded Circles
* Sun - Celebrate With Flourish (I cut off the cloud portion of this image) cut at 4 inches
* Sentiment - Faith Stamp Set by Pink By Design
* Ink - Ranger Ink - Stormy Sky

Close up of sun.

I'm not sure if you can tell in the photo, but I used a Gelly Roll glitter pen around the edges of the sun for just a bit of shimmer.  These little pens are great when you want just a tiny bit of glitter.

Well, that's my project for today.  I hope you have enjoyed your visit with me today and I hope you will pop over to FCCB and see what all those talented ladies on the Design Team have in store for you!  After your visit...go....get creative...then link up your project under the Challenge Me Monday section at FCCB.  I can't wait to see what you create!

Until next time,
Tanya

Make A Quilt!

Happy Saturday and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner.
I hope your weekend is off to a grand start!
I've been busy this morning working on my project for my next post at Pink By Design.  My project will be posted on Sunday, June 26th and I hope you will stop by to take a peek!

Last night I was looking through my stamps in need of a bit of motivation.  Have you ever had one of those moments when you can just see the completed project in your head before you ever even cut a piece of paper? When I picked up this stamp, my card pretty much put itself together!  Granted it's a very simple card and one of the very few I've ever put together without a single Cricut cut!  But, I love the way it came together and I love the sentiment....

Recipe for this 5 X 5 card:

*Cardstock is from Martha Stewart "Classic Botanical Paper Pad"
I cut each square 1.5 X 1.5 inches and inked up the edges with brown ink
*Sentiment tag - Nestabilities "Grommet Tags"
*Stamp - Pink By Design - "Material Girl"

Thanks for stopping by today!  I always enjoy your visits and love your comments!
Until next time,
Tanya

Up, Up & Away....

Hello, hello and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
I hope you have a wonderful day.  It was a good one around here.  Summer is moving right along complete with hot, hot days, swimming lessons, afternoons at the pool followed by afternoon naps! Love it!  We also finally had a wonderful thunderstorm this afternoon.  It has been a long, long time since we had a decent rain around here and today was the day!  We needed the rain so badly, I tried not to let the thunder and lightning bother me too much...not a big fan of lightning!  But, I did unplug my Cricut!

After the storm passed I finally broke out my new cartridge "Pop Up Neighborhood".  Now I'm really not interested in spending hours trying to figure out the "pop up" part of this cartridge.  But I do think that many of these images are really cute and can be used just like any other cartridge.  Here's the card I made this afternoon...

Recipe:
*  Patterned paper - DCWV - All About Boys
*Balloon - Pop Up Neighborhood cut at 4.5 inches
* Grass- Pop Up Neighborhood cut at 1.5 inches
* Cuttlebug Forrest Branches folder for basket
* Sentiment Mat - Nestablitities - Grommet Tags
* Stamp - Pink By Design - Oh Boy stamp set
* Red Baker's Twine
* White Gel Pen

I used Ranger Ink "Fired Brick" to ink up the edges of my sentiment mat.
The Oh Boy stamp set from Pink By Design was perfect for this card.  You can all the stamps in this collection by clicking here.

I cut two bottom layers of my balloon and used pop-dots to give it some dimension...

Well, it's getting late and we have one more day of swimming lessons bright and early in the morning.  Guess I need to call it a day!  Thanks for stopping by, I always enjoy your visits and your sweet comments.
Until next time,
Tanya

Scrapbook Layout For This Week

Good morning and welcome to my little corner of the crafting world!
Between working with our VBS program and getting ready for my first post as a Design Team member over at Pink By Design, I got a bit side tracked on my personal challenge of one layout per week!  I've had a couple of days to recover and I did manage to create a layout for this week...yippee!
Before I share my layout with you, I would like to say thanks to everyone for all of your encouraging words and kind comments as I made my Pink By Design debut!  You guys are just the best and I so appreciate the way you cheered me on! (ummm...could you just keep that up for awhile?)

Now, let's move on to this week's layout.  You may be seeing some pictures in my layouts that look familiar.  That's because I am working on 2 scrapbooks at the same time.  I'm making one for myself and one for Blake's mommy.  It's tough trying to work on 2 layouts with similar photos and not get bored to tears!  I'm trying to change each layout up a bit, but you will probably be seeing the same photos every so often...good thing my grands are so cute :0)

This layout started with cute background paper from DCWV.  This paper stack is called "All About Boys".

Recipe:
* Orange background mat - Elegant Edges (Book Feature page 48) cut at Fit To Page
* Sweet phrase - Baby Steps cut at 1.5 inches
* Baby Boy - Baby Steps cut at 3 inches
*Blue and green skittles from Michaels

* Baby Rattle - Baby Steps cut at 3.5 inches
*Journal tag - Nestabilities "Scalloped Rectangles Large"

Now I have to get off this computer and get Emma to swimming lessons.
I hope you enjoyed this week's layout.  I hope to have another one for you soon.
Enjoy your day and come back for a visit anytime!
Until next time,
Tanya

Classy and Fabulous!

I am writing this on Saturday night to post on Sunday morning.  As I type this I have butterflies as big as bats making loops in my stomach!  Sunday will be my very first post at Pink By Design.  It's not torture enough that I am so intimidated by the wonderfully talented designers I am now working with, but I'm also trying to learn how to post on WordPress!  Everything looked good in the preview mode and I guess we will all know soon enough if all goes well with the actual post.  If for some reason you aren't able to see the post, please check back soon.  The good folks at Pink By Design are great at working out blogging issues!  So, don't give up on me!

I'm really excited to share a bit of my project with you.  I used an awesome stamp set called Shop-a-holic.
With sayings like "Born Free. Now, I'm expensive" and "A woman's place is in the mall", my hubby would agree when I say these stamps must have been made just for me!

Ok...here's my card...

Supplies for this card:
*DCWV "Black Currant" paper stack
*Dress Form - French Manor cut at 4 inches
*Shoes - Forever Young cut at 1.75 inches
*Purse - Kate's ABC's cut at 1.75 inches
*Mat - Elegant Edges (Book Feature, pg 39) cut at 3.25 inches
*Ribbon, tulle, bling from my stash
*Sentiment - Shop-a-holic stamp set from Pink By Design.
(You can see the entire stamp set here).

Here's another angle...

And here's a good look at this classy and fabulous stamp...

How cute is that?

I have more pictures and info on my post at Pink By Design (if it worked, please..please...please)!
I so appreciate your visit here and hope you will stop by Pink By Design and have a look around.  It would be really nice to see your familiar faces over at my new playground!  Come on by...I know you'll like it!
Until next time,
Tanya

VBS 2011

Hello everyone!
I hope your weekend is off to a good start.  We have been really busy around here this past week working with the VBS program at my church.  I'm sorry to say that this week I did not meet my challenge of a new layout per week.  But, I do have some pictures to share that will help explain why I have no layout for this week!
My hubby, a good friend and myself have spent the last few months working on the set for this year's VBS program....Hometown Nazareth.  We worked with 4 foot by 8 foot sheets of foam insulation and carved about a gazillion stones to build our set....

Our program kicked off on Sunday the 4th and ran through this Thursday.  We had games, crafts, Bible lessons, snacks and a music class each night from 6:00 until about 8:30.  You can see why there was not much crafting done at my house this past week!  The kids had a great time and it was worth all the work just to see the smiles on their faces!  I wish I could post pictures of some of the events, but they all have shots of the children and I don't want to post photos without permission from parents.

It was a great week and I look forward to working on the set for next year (which we will begin in February)!
And now it's time to get back to work in my craft corner!  My first post with Pink By Design will be this Sunday.  I will have a sneak peek for you here, so please stop by and tell me what you think!  In the meantime, I'm gonna get busy on that layout!
Until next time,
Tanya

Each Day Is A Gift

Hello and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
I hope your week is going well...we are halfway to the weekend!
I have a sweet, simple card to share with you today.

For this card I followed a great sketch from Mojo Monday.
If you haven't visited their blog, you really need to stop by.  They always have the most inspiring sketches!
And, here's my card...

I used the very pretty "Summer Song" paper stack from DCWV for this card.
The medallion is cut from Cricut American Alphabet at 3.5 inches.
That cute little flower is from Kate's ABC's and I cut this at 2.75 inches.

I love the sentiment on this card!
This stamp can be found in the fabulous Faith stamp set from Pink By Design.
You can see the complete Faith set Here.

In case the first photo with the busy background was distracting, here's one with a plain white background...

Hope you enjoyed my card for today!
Remember that my first post for Pink By Design will be this Sunday, June 12th.
I hope you will pop over there for a visit.  It would be really great to see a few of your familiar faces!  Especially since I'm more than a bit intimidated by all the wonderful designers there!  I think I'm gonna need my own cheering section and you guys are the best there is!
  Until next time,
Tanya
