Happy Birthday

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
This has been one of "those weeks"'s peanut picking season in my little corner of Southeast Alabama and it does a number on my allergies every year!  So this week has been dedicated more to a stuffy nose, red, watery eyes and mind-numbing headaches than anything crafty.  We had a nice rain a couple of days ago and I think maybe it has settled the peanut dust down for a day or two, so I'm feeling a bit better and thought I would get a card for my Birthday stash completed...
I finally got a chance to use my new Sophie cartridge! It has some beautiful images!  This card was created using the image on page 28 and is cut at 4.5 inches.

* I first cut the image out of kraft paper and again out of my designer paper - Flea Market by Colorbox.  I layered the designer paper onto the kraft paper to make it more durable.

* All the edges are inked up with Ranger's Victorian Velvet ink.

* I covered the butterfly and outer frame with Glossy Accents and sprinkled with Martha Stewart's Tinsel glitter in Crystal.

* The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Pink By Design stamp set Kitchen Puns.  This was stamped in Vintage Sepia ink from Versafine and heat embossed with Polysparkle embossing powder by Ranger.

* The pearls are from Recollections.

* Brown Crinkle Ribbon is from Pink By Design.
And here's a look at the inside...

And...that's my card for today!  Off to buy more antihistamines and tissues!  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Until next time,

  1. This is great Tanya!!! I have to get my Sophie cart down again. I love all the images on it. I think it's one of the best Circle carts. I love those papers. All the colors, the glitter, bling, ribbon and those polka dots on the inside!! Awesome card!! Hope you are feeling better soon! Glad we don't do peanuts up our way. I would be sneezin, sniffin and coughin, too!!! :)

  2. Pretty card...isn't it funny what we can be allergic to!?! It totally ruins my crafty ambitions when I have an allergy headache happening. I hope you feel better soon!

  3. I have go to explore Sophie really is a beautiful cart...your card came out very the bling body on that butterfly (that is a lot of b's). Here's another one - hope you're feelin' better. ;)

  4. Oh Tanya, This is so beautiful! I love that cartridge and I think I have only used it once so far. Hee! Hee! Isn't that terrible?!? I am so sorry you are dealing with the crud. I used to try everything for allergies, but I now have a doctor who is a dietician. She told me to get generic benadril ($4.00 for 100 capsules) and take one in the morning when I get up and one when I go to bed. I haven't had a serious problem since. It's been wonderful! I hope you get to feeling better soon. Love the card and look forward to the next one!

  5. What a gorgeous card. I love the cut and the inking and sparkle? Oh my-just beautiful.

  6. What a stunning card, Tanya! I'd better take a closer look at that cart again - I love this image cut!

Hope you feel better soon too!

  7. This is sooooo PRETTY Tanya! I LOVE how it turned out... This is one of the best Circle Cartridges! Of course it's the only one I've ever liked! LOL Soooo Sorry to hear about your allergies.... I hope you get over that real soon and start crafting a little more! HUGS! :o)

  8. This is maybe my 3rd or 4th time to leave a comment...I think it is going to work this time ;-)

Beautiful card! I hope you stay well to keep on scrappin'. I am suffering from allergy issues due to the cotton defoliant. There are a lot of cotton fields here.

Take care and stay well! Hugs!

  9. Beautiful Tanya! I love that paper and the shape and cut of the card are gorgeous. I love all the sparklies!
