Good morning and happy Saturday to you!
Today is my first time to play along with the 100 Cartridge Blog Hop going on over at My Cricut Craft Room . This is a pretty big hop with the entire Design Team pitching in to use at least 100 Cricut Cartridges! I hope you will grab a cup of coffee (or the caffeine of your choice) and join me for today's hop.
If you are already hopping along, you should have reached me from Tammy at The Purple Muse. If you would like to go back and start at the beginning of the Hop, head over to My Cricut Craft Room.
Now, let's get to my projects for today's hop. I decided to work on a couple of scrapbook layouts for today's hop. This was perfect timing since my newest grandson, Brayden, just arrived on August 29th. I created the first page for Brayden's scrapbook and a double layout to add pictures of Brayden and his big brother, Blake. I haven't had the photos developed yet, but I can't wait to add them to my layouts.
Let's start with Baby Brayden's page first...
For Brayden's layout, I started with this sweet paper from DCWV's Baby Boy stack.
* The white mat at the top was created using a Martha Stewart punch. I ran it through my Cuttlebug using the Polka Dots embossing folder.
* The letters for Brayden's name are cut from Alphalicious at 1.5 inches.
* That cute little baby boy is from the Baby Steps cartridge and was cut at 4 inches. I used Peachy Keen's Wide Eyed Kids for that sweet little face. I added a few stitching lines with my white gel pen and adhered a couple of green gems on the wheels of the carriage.
* The mat behind the baby carriage is cut using Grand Nestabilities Grand Scalloped Circles die. I also embossed this with the Polka Dots embossing folder.
* The birth information was printed from my computer and the baby pins are from Sugar & Spice. I cut the pins out at 1.5 inches. Because they are so thin, I cut them out twice and glued the layers together. Here's a closer picture of the details...
Ok...time for Big Brother's layout....
Lot's of details on this layout! The patterned paper is from DCWV's All About Boys paper stack and the solids are from my stash. All the cuts are made from Cricut's Boys Will Be Boys cartridge. Here's the first page...
Cut sizes for this page...
* Letters were cut at 1.25 inches using the Arrow Font.
* Trike is found on page 38 and is cut at 3 inches. I used a white gel pen to add a few accents and Platinum Liquid Pearls in the center of the wheels.
* The football is from page 31. This was cut at 2.5 inches and I ran the football through my Cuttlebug using the Tim Holtz Burlap embossing folder. I used a black gel pen for stitching lines.
* The wagon is from page 33 and is cut at 3.25 inches. A white gel pen and more liquid pearls add the finishing touches!
* Photo mats - I cut squares from white cardstock, used my corner rounder on the ends and added stitching lines with a black gel pen.
Page two...
Cut sizes for this page...
* The phrase "Big" is found on page 44 and is cut at 1.75 inches.
* The phrase "Brother" is from page 58 and is also cut at 1.75 inches.
* The rocket is found on page 32 of the handbook. This was cut at 3.25 inches. I used my white gel pen and Platinum Liquid Pearls to add a few accents.
* The baseball and bat are from page 39 and are cut at 3.25 inches. The bat is embossed with the Distressed Stripes embossing folder. The green mat seemed a bit empty with just the ball and bat, so I added a few red stars that I created with a paper punch.
* The train is from page 60 and is cut at 2.75 inches. My white gel pen and Liquid Pearls finished up this cute little train.
*The arrows found on each page are from pages 68 and 77 and they are cut at 3.25 inches.
And...there you go...my projects for today's Blog Hop! I hope you have enjoyed your visit! But...we aren't finished just yet...what's a Blog Hop without a "little something"? I just so happen to have a special "little something" to give away to one lucky follower today....
