Celebrate!

Hello everyone and welcome to my Craft Corner!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.  My Christmas has been filled with family, fun, food and many, many blessings.  My hubby and I received a special gift this year - we found out that we will be adding a new grandbaby to the family sometime next June!  How's that for the perfect gift?

I also received another, special gift this Christmas.  It actually came a couple of weeks before Christmas and I haven't been able to share it with you....until today.  I recently found out that I am now an official member of the......

Peachy Keen Design Team!

I cannot tell you how excited I am to be working with the fabulously talented Peachy Keen Team, and, of course, all those awesome Peachy Keen Stamps!  This is like a Christmas dream come true for me and I'm still pinching myself every now and then just to make sure that it isn't just a dream!

I've been celebrating the news ever since I found out and I made a special "Celebration" card just for today......

Recipe:
* I created this fun background paper using the PKSC-12 December 2012 stamp set.  I chose the sentiment "Celebrate!" and stamped in a row across a pale pink paper alternating bright pink and lime green ink.
* That darling party hat is from the Silhouette Online Store and his sweet face is from the Happy Lashes (PK-460) stamp set.
* I used my sewing machine gather my hot pink ribbon then glued it to the bottom of the hat.
* I used some cute twine in "Watermelon Taffy" by Trendy Twine to make a pom pom for the top of my party hat.

* Those fun, glittery gems are from Hobby Lobby
* A few stitching lines with my black gel pen add a finishing touch

I'm still doing the "happy dance" around here and this little guy makes me even happier!  Thanks so much for letting me share my news about Grand #4 and my new spot on the Design Team with you.  I hope you will stop by the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog and The Peachy Keen Connection and welcome all the new and returning members of the Design Team.  They are a wonderful group of talented ladies and I am thrilled to working with them!

Thanks again for stopping by today and I'll be seeing you soon...

Until next time,

Wishing You Joy

Hello everyone and Happy Christmas Eve to you!
I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season with those you love.  I've spent the day cooking and crafting with my Mama, something I haven't had the opportunity to in many years.  My sweet hubby is doing the last minute grocery shopping for us so that we can play together! My oldest son and his family will be here tomorrow, so we will have a house full of  grandchildren and a very excited Lola (my little Yorkie)!  We will be missing my youngest son who won't make it this year, but we did get a chance to be together earlier and I'll be seeing him a few days after Christmas.  Life is good and I am blessed beyond measure!

I have one last Christmas gift to share with you for this year.  I started out with 2 of these and thought they were so cute that I ended up making about 6 of them....

Recipe:
* "Fancy Topper Die" by Jaded Blossom
* Nail polish bottles are from the Cricut cartridge "Slumber Party" - they are cut at 2.5 inches.  The bottle portion is cut from clear plastic.  I used Glossy Accents on the nail polish portion of the cut.
* The Christmas sentiments are also from Jaded Blossom and are stamped onto flags made with the Jaded Blossom "Flag Die"
*Gusset Bag is from Jaded Blossom

I added a couple bottles of nail polish and a cute little manicure set I found at Target to these bags.  After I finished them, I decided I definitely needed to make more of these fun gifts.  Here's a photo of the next 4 I created.....

I used some Trendy Twine in "Candy Cane" and "Twisted Lime" on these bags.

I just love the way these turned out!

Ok, it's time to go make the Oreo Balls to add to our Carrot Cake, Rum Cake, Fudge, Orange Balls and chocolate covered peanuts.  I'm thinking that's enough with the sweets and I'm hoping someone bought me a pair of sweat pants for Christmas because that may be all I'll fit into very soon!

Before I go, I just want to wish all of you a wonderful, merry Christmas filled with love, family and blessings.  It may be a few days, but I'll be seeing you soon.....

Until next time,

Merry Christmas from the North Pole

Hello everyone and happy Friday to you!
Well, here we are...closer and closer to Christmas Day.  Are you ready?  I think I have everything all set to go, but there is usually something I've forgotten that I end up doing at the last minute!

For the last 3 months, on every other Friday, I've had a project to share with you as part of the Design Team over at Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge Blog.  I'm sad to say that my term is over and today will be last post with this sweet, talented group of ladies.  I want to thank the owner of Pause Dream Enjoy, Janis Lewis, for letting me play along with her team these past few months.  Janis is a wonderful, talented, kind hearted lady and I have truly enjoyed working with and getting to know her.

Ok...let's get to this week's challenge....

Quick Christmas Treat!

Hi there and welcome! Thanks for stopping by today- I've got a quick project to share with you. I needed a gift that would be quick, but sweet, so I put together this little treat last night.  Not very detailed, but cute just the same....

Recipe:
* Gusset bag from Jaded Blossom
*Fancy Topper Die from Jaded Blossom
*Coffee cup from Lil' Inker Designs
*Sentiment from Jaded Blossom
*Sentiment mat - Spellbinders
* Holly leaves - Martha Stewart Punch
*Trendy Twine

* My bag has 3 packs of cocoa mix and 3 chocolate covered peppermint sticks
* The recycled Frappuccino bottle has red and green mint flavored M&Ms

Here's a view of the top of my bottle....

I keep a supply of these bottles on hand, they are perfect for treats!  I also spray paint the lids white ahead of time so they will go with pretty much any color scheme and they are ready to put together when I need them.

My son is here today so this post is going to be a short one.  We will be picking Emma up after school today so that she can spend some time with her Uncle Matt before he has to head back home for work. Tomorrow I pick my Mama up from the airport....so excited!  It will be busy around here, but I know I will sneak in some computer time so that I can get my "crafting fix"!  So, I'll be seeing you...

Happy Birthday Kathy!

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner.  Thanks so much for stopping by today.  How are you doing with the holiday preparations?  I'm getting there...but...wow...the days are just flying past!  Even though I have so much to get finished, I still have to have my crafting time! I find that an hour or two at my craft table and a few minutes visiting all my bloggy friends can help me relax and get me motivated better than anything else.  Especially if I use it for a "reward"!  Clean the bathroom, wrap some gifts and fold the laundry...earn an hour in the craft room!  Hey...whatever works!

So, during my last "reward" session I finished up a birthday card for a special lady that I'm sure most of you "know"....the one and only Kathy from Peachy Keen Stamps has a birthday this weekend!  In honor of Kathy's birthday, this week's challenge at Peachy Keen Stamps is to create a card for her using the following sketch....

Happy Birthday Kathy!

Recipe:
* The sweet little birthday girl is "Tiddly Inks Anna Bell Sweetness" from My Scrap Chick
* That adorable face is from the "Cherub Face Assortment" by Peachy Keen Stamps
* The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the December 2012 Stamp Set by Peachy Keen Stamps

* I added some "Hot Pink" crinkle ribbon by My Craft Spot, a bit of twine and a button from my button jar.
* The felt flower is from Blue Moon Beads
* A few gems on her headband and some stitching lines with my white gel pen finish up this sweet birthday card.

Well, I guess I've used up the last of my "reward time" and need to go earn a few more minutes!  I'm thinking it's time to change the sheets and do some vacuuming....that should earn me an hour or two!

Until next time,

Turtle Love

Hi there and welcome!
I can't believe that another week has rushed by and it's Friday again. My goodness, the days are just flying by and I still have so much to do!  How are you doing on your Christmas "to do" list?  I think I finished my shopping today. I still have lots of wrapping to do and crafts to finish and I haven't even started cooking yet. I also have a house that is in desperate need of cleaning!  Our "Christmas" will start very soon - my youngest son will be home on the 18th and my Mama is coming on the 20th....so, I've got to get moving here!

My hubby has been so patient and so helpful as I'm frantically trying to get everything ready - so, I made him a little treat that I will leave on his pillow tonight.....

My hubby is a big fan of "Turtles" and I thought this cute little turtle from Peachy Keen Stamps would be perfect for his treat bag!

Recipe:
* The bag topper is made using the "Fancy Topper Die" by Jaded Blossom
* That sweet little turtle is from the June Stamp Set by Peachy Keen Stamps
* I added the Santa hat from the Peachy Keen Gingerbread Doll Set and glittered up the fur and bell

* I added some fun twine from Trendy Twine in "Peppermint Stick" and a bright green button from my stash.
* Sentiment is from the Peachy Keen November Stamp Set
Now, if that's not "Turtle Love" , I don't know what is!
And, now I'm off to see what else I can accomplish.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend and get lots of items checked off of your "to do" lists!  I'll be seeing you soon.....
Until next time,

Peachy Keen Challenge #46

Hi there and thanks for stopping by!
It's been a busy day around here today and I'm finally finding the time to get this post up and running.  There are about 2 hours left before this challenge is closed - so (lucky you) this one will be short and sweet!

The weekly challenge at Peachy Keen Stamps is "3D Objects - Ornaments"....

Recipe:
* I started with a plain, paper- mache ornament from Michael's and gave it a coat of red paint
* The fun background paper is from Recollections
* That adorable gingerbread boy is from Peachy Keen (PK-408)
* Glittered peppermints are from Hobby Lobby

* I added some Martha Stewart Fine Glitter Paint to the furry part his hat, the icing on his arms and legs and the edges of the ornament. I had inked up the edges of his hat in red ink and it bled a bit when I applied the glitter.  But, I think we will just call that "shading" and go with it....whatcha think?
* I finished up with some cute twine, ribbon, button and gems from my stash of crafting goodies and added this cute little guy to my tree.

Lola made sure that I placed our newest ornament in just the right place!

Ok, I promised short and sweet - so I'm leaving now!
I'll be seeing you soon....

Until next time,

Postcards From Santa

Hello everyone and welcome!
I have some great news to share with you today.  You may have read that I was supposed to have Jury Duty this week (great timing, right?).  Well, I got to the courthouse bright and early yesterday morning along with about 150 other fine folks from our county.  I sat through roll call and the swearing in process then the judge asked anyone with a reason to be excused to come forward and speak with him.  All that took about an hour or so. After he excused a few people, he went over the next steps. Those of us who remained were in a group to be chosen for 2 Grand Juries.  They were each going to be going on for a several weeks with breaks in between, lasting around 3 months.  NOT what I wanted to hear!  All of our names literally went into the pot (in this case a Christmas cookie tin, I kid you not)!  Then the judge pulled out 18 names...mine not included for the first set of jurors.  When he got ready to pull out the second set of names, I started counting with him!  When he pulled out the 18th name and mine was not included, I wanted to kiss him (contempt of court maybe?)!  He then thanked the rest of us and sent us on our way!  You should have seen all of us making for the door just in case he changed his mind!  I was back home by 10:30....yay!

So...back to crafting, decorating and getting ready for Christmas.  I still have the stitches in my finger for a few more days, but it is getting easier and easier to work with...thank you Lord!  Today, I want to share some fun Christmas tags I made for my grands....

Recipe:
* Tag base - Spellbinders "Labels 17"
* Post card stamp is from Lawn Fawn's set "You've Got Mail"
* North Pole cancellation stamp is from "Ditto"
* Santa is from the Cricut cart "Doodlecharms" cut at 2 inches

*Santa's beard and fur got a sprinkle of Martha Stewart Glitter

* I used some fun twine from "Trendy Twine" to hang my tags

* My stitching lines and hand writing is still a bit "wonky" with these stitches in my hand - but it's getting better!

Ok, that's it for today.  I need to go get busy on my next project. I am so happy to be in my craft corner listening to Christmas music and working on gifts instead of being stuck in the court house!  See you soon....

Until next time,

Happy Birthday Emma!

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by!
It's been a busy day around here and I'm pooped!  We started the morning off at Church then out for a quick lunch.  Home long enough to change clothes and read the paper then off to Emma's birthday party.  After the party, I brought my hubby back home then headed out to do a bit more Christmas shopping.  After lugging everything into the house, I'm too tired to start wrapping the gifts!

So, I think I'm going to share my sweet Emma's birthday card with you lovely people then head to bed!  Tomorrow begins my week of Jury Duty and I cannot tell you how much I dread it.  I know I am going to spend my days at the courthouse thinking about the things I need to be doing at home as Christmas gets closer and closer and closer...

On to better things... my Emma will be turning 8 years old on December 23rd and today was her birthday party.  She wanted Cats and the color purple for her party so that's what I went with for her birthday card....

Recipe:
* I started with some purple Bazzil cardstock and formed my cardbase. I rounded off the bottom edges and added some stitching lines with my white gel pen.
* The fun printed papers are from Hobby Lobby's "The Paper Studio" line
* The bright pink ribbon was in my stash and added a nice splash of color
* The mat for the birthday kitten was cut with the Spellbinders "Labels 17" die.  I embossed the mat with Cuttlebug's "Happy Birthday" folder and added more stitching lines

* That sweet little kitten is from "Create A Critter 2" and is cut at 4 inches.  A few gems dress up her outfit. I added lots of gold glitter to her crown and wand for a touch of bling!
* My sentiment mat is cut from the "Flag Die" by Jaded Blossom.  The sentiment is from the "Celebration" stamp set by CTMH
* The cupcakes on either side of the sentiment were in my stash and I'm not sure where they came from, but thought they were perfect for Emma's card!

By the way, if my stitching lines look a bit "wonky", please note that this card was completed with the stitches still in my finger (at least that's what I'm blaming it on)!  I will have them in for a few more days and can't wait to get them out!

Thanks again for stopping by - as always, I appreciate your visits and sweet comments!  I'll be popping in as time permits over the next few days.  Keep your fingers crossed that I don't get chosen for any crazy cases this week!

Until next time,

Frosty Treats

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
Yay...it's Friday!  And, I've got a fun challenge to share with you from the Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge Blog.  This week's challenge is all about one of my favorite winter color combinations :
Blue and White.

I made a sweet treat using this pretty combo:

* I recycled a Starbuck's Frappuccino bottle and filled it with Peppermint flavored M&Ms.
* The lid is spray painted white
* I made a label from this pretty blue plaid paper and added a row of white pom poms to the upper and lower edges.
* The snowflake is from the Silhouette Online Store.  After cutting it out, I inked up the edges with blue ink and covered it with some Martha Stewart Coarse Glitter.
* The glittery blue gem in the center of the snowflake is from "The Paper Studio"
* I added a white tulle bow around the neck of my bottle and a gem in the center of the bow.

* The box is also from the Silhouette Online Store and gets the same pretty blue paper and white pom pom trim along with a glittery snowflake. 2 packs of cocoa fit perfectly into this box.
* The "Merry Christmas" sentiment is from  the "Christmas Wishes" stamp set by Jaded Blossom.  It is stamped onto a flag cut with the "Flag Die" also by Jaded Blossom.

* The lid to my Frappuccino bottle is topped off with another snowflake and a sweet sentiment from Jaded Blossom's "Winter Candies" stamp set.

Here are all the details for this week's challenge:
Ch# 49: Blue & White

Starts: Friday, December 7th 12:00 am EST
Ends: Thursday, December 13th, Noon EST

Ok - it's your turn now!  I hope you will stop by the Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge Blog and check out all the fabulous projects the Design Team has put together for you.  Then...go get creative and link up your project with us. I can't wait to see what you create!

Before I go, I would like to thank everyone for their concern and sweet words about my recent puppy bite!  It is healing nicely and looking better each day. I will have stitches for several more days, but it is becoming more and more flexible.  I also wanted to let you all know - this project and all the ones before it were completed before the bite!  I think a few of you thought I had made these with my poor, mangled up finger!  Fortunately, I had a few projects ready to post before hand!  After this one however....mangled finger and all!   So, again, thanks for your sweet words and thanks for stopping by today. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I'll be seeing you soon!

Peachy Keen - Shape It Up Challenge

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by!
If you follow my Facebook page, you've probably already heard this story - feel free to scroll on down the page!!!  If you missed it, I have to share my latest "misadventure" with you!

Many of you "know" my little 8 pound bundle of energy, Lola.  Well, Sunday night my hubby and I were playing with her, trying to tire her out before bedtime.  I got a little too rowdy with her and she snipped at me - I think one of those sharp little teeth sort of "snagged" on the crease at the base of my finger.  She yanked back and so did I and the two of us managed to mangle my right, index finger - YES - my crafting hand!  Off to the ER at 10:00 that night - 2 hours, 4 stitches, tetanus shot and prescription for antibiotics - then finally home!  All this on my hubby's birthday!

I will spare you the gorier details, but will share the blessing that it seems the bite missed the nerves that run along the sides of the finger and missed the muscle that helps spread the fingers. So, hopefully once the swelling goes down and the stitches are out I will be back to normal (whatever that is).  So, if I have lots of typos, am slow to post or slow to visit your blog - just know that I'm working on it as I am having to hen-peck everything!  I'm thankful that I had a few projects finished and ready to post!  And now I'm stop blabbing and get on with it....
This week's challenge at Peachy Keen Stamps is "Cards Only -Shape It Up".
And, here's what I came up with....

* The ornament shape is from the Silhouette Online Store.  I used the Offset function to create a shadow, duplicated and flipped it.  Then I welded the 2 shapes together to make a card base.
* That cute little tree is from Peachy Keen - PK-12
* The Santa and sentiment are also from Peachy Keen - PK-332
* Sentiment mat is Spellbinders die "Grommet Tags"
* This card got lots of glitter and bling!
* I used Stickles on Santa's clothes and Martha Stewart coarse glitter on the sentiment
* The red "ornaments" are from Recollections
* The green, glittery gems are from The Paper Studio

* I also used lots of pop dots to make my little Christmas scene stand out!

I am also linking this card up with the following challenges:
Die Cuttin' Divas - Challenge #94 - Holiday Spirit
Little Scrap Pieces - Make It Sparkle
Paper Playtime - Christmas Colors

Ok, this hen pecking is getting to me!  Thanks for letting me share my sad story with you!  Oh, by the way, we are thinking of changing Lola's name to Spike...whatcha think?

Until next time,

Happy Birthday Donell!

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by today!
Today is a special day around my house - it is my sweet hubby's birthday!  I never know what to buy for him on his birthday (or Christmas or Father's Day or our Anniversary) because he just never asks for anything.  And if I ask him what he would like, I usually just get a "I really don't need anything".  Guess I ask for enough for the both of us!

One thing he does receive on those special days is a card made by me.  And, I think he has everyone that I've ever made for him in a display case in his office along with the sports memorabilia he collects - nice combination, don't ya think?  It just makes my heart happy that he saves all those cards!  So, here is this year's birthday card....

Recipe:
*Paper - October Afternoon - "9 To 5"
*Typewriter - Silhouette Online Store
* Sentiment - Pink By Design "Vintage Greetings"
The typewriter file comes with blank keys.  After I put the card together, it just looked like something was missing (duh...the letters).  I thought about stamping letters or cutting out letters, but the keys are just too small.  After looking at it for awhile, I realized that would not work anyway because the number of keys is incorrect.  I was really beginning to give up and started taking photos deciding to leave it the way it was.  Then...ta da...it hit me...tiny little hearts!  And, I had the perfect Martha Stewart punch on hand.... I love the way it turned out!

I did cut out the letters I and U for the space bar. And for a punch of color, I used a red heart.  And, there you go - a birthday card for my hubby!  Thanks again for stopping by today!

Happy Birthday Donell - I love you!

For My Sweet Lil' Deer!

Hi there and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
It's officially the weekend and I'm planning on crafty one - how about you?  I am really hoping to get a few Christmas projects crossed off my list this weekend.  So, I've got a quick little post for you today, then it's back to work for me!

I love making tags for my gifts. A big beautiful bow and a pretty gift tag can make even a gift of underwear look good!  Here's a super sweet tag I recently made using Peachy Keen's November Stamp Set......

Isn't she sweet?

I used the Spellbinders Die "Labels 17" for the tag and some beautiful lace by "Melissa Frances".  I'm not sure where the sparkly brad came from - I've had them in my stash for awhile.

Now, none of these gifts have underwear in them...but...even if they did...don't they still look pretty?

Thanks again for stopping by today.  Your visits and sweet comments always make me smile!  I hope you have a wonderfully crafty weekend and I'll be seeing you soon!

Save Santa A Stop....

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by!
I have a fun Christmas project to share with you today.  I put this little cutie together using products from some of my favorite online craft stores....

* This darling little Santa candy box is from My Scrap Chick - this is part of a 5 piece Santa Claus set that includes this box, a card, a tag and more....so cute!
* The fun stamps I used for the bottom of my kisses are from Jaded Blossom.  The set is called "Christmas Candies".  Santa's sign is made from the "Flag Die" also available from Jaded Blossom
* The too-cute sentiment is from the fabulous Peachy Keen Stamps!  This sentiment is from their November Stamp Set.

*Santa's hair and clothes got sprinkled with some fine, white glitter
* The snow is covered with coarse glitter
* I used a burlap embossing folder on his belt
* The gold "sign post" is a lollipop stick that I covered with Glossy Accents, then sprinkled with gold glitter.

This little gift box holds quite a bit of candy....yummy!

Ok - back to working on Christmas decorations!  I've got to get this house finished soon because I recently found out that I have Jury Duty during the week of December 10th.  Can't they just suspend court during the month of December...lol!  Ok - back to it - I'll be seeing you soon!

Until next time,

Emma's Birthday is Coming....

Hi there and thanks so much for stopping by today!
So, how was your Thanksgiving holiday?  Ours was pretty low-key.  My boys were not able to come home (both had to work) so the hubby and I managed to get several things checked off of our "Christmas to-do" lists.  We wrestled in our 12 foot live tree and the house is almost completely decorated! I can't wait to have my entire crew home for Christmas.

I did get to have my sweet Emma over to spend the night on Friday and Saturday (something I am very thankful for).  When Emma spends the night, she wants to do 2 things - go to Hobby Lobby and make something in Nonna's craft room!  So, we made our run to Hobby Lobby then got busy with paper, Cricut carts and glue!  Emma's birthday is December 23rd, but her party is going to be next weekend - so we got busy making a few goodie bags for her guests.  Emma wanted everything to be decorated with cats and the color purple. So this is what we came up with....

Recipe:
* Goodie bags from the candy making section at Michael's
* Grand Labels 11 Spellbinders Die
* Create A Critter for the kittens
* Worn Lipstick Stickles for the noses
* White gel pen for "stitching"

* I typed up and printed a little thank you note
* Next I used a Labels 11 Die to cut them out and had Emma sign her name
* These were added to the bag of the bag

Emma was really happy with the way her goodie bags turned out!  Best of all, we both enjoyed our time together crafting away the afternoon!

And that's about it from Emma and Nonna today!  I hope you all have a wonderful day and I'll be seeing you soon!

Until next time,

Christmas Ornaments for my Boys!

Hello everyone and Happy Black Friday to you!
Are you one of those brave souls who ventures out into all the craziness for wonderful bargains?  Not me!  The older I get, the less I can tolerate the crowds, noise and confusion!  I've already got a lot of my Christmas shopping completed and hope to finish it up next week after some of the craziness has passed!  So, my Black Friday will be spent between decorating the house and crafting Christmas goodies...my kind of day!

Well, it's not only Black Friday, it's time for another challenge over at the Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge Blog!  This week's challenge (#47) is my favorite kind of challenge....
"Anything Goes"!
I decided to work on some Christmas ornaments for my grandsons Blake and Brayden...
Recipe:
* I started with some cute unfinished wooden sleds I found at Michael's
* I painted the sleds in fun Christmas colors, then once dry, I covered with with Crackle Paint in "Clear Rock Candy" - this gives them an icy, frosted look
* The cute teddies are from the Cricut cartridge "Teddy Bear Parade" - cut at 4.25 inches

* The letters are from "Kate's ABCs" cartridge
* I used lots of glitter on the white, furry area of Santa's suit, the belt buckle and gift ribbon
* Twine and a jingle bell finish off these sweet ornaments

And, here's the side view.  I think you can see the "icy" effect a bit better in this photo...

Here are the details for this week's challenge...
