Christmas Cards with Winter Frolic Cartridge

I have had a great time today working on Christmas cards.  Today was one of those days where I pretty much let everything else go, went upstairs to my crafting space, made a huge mess and just had a great time!

I have had the Winter Frolic cartridge for a couple of months and just haven't played around with it yet...what a great cart this has turned out to be. There are so many cuts that can be used for both Christmas and winter projects.  I think this will be a cart that I end up using alot.

Usually when I make a card, I end up with lots of little pieces of paper left over and I never know what to do with them.  This time, I decided to see if I could go a ahead and use up most, if not all, of those scraps.  I started out with 2 sheets of double-sided paper from Martha Stewart's "Playful Blue" stack.  Knowing that I could probably get at least 2 cards, I thought I would use basically the same cuts and see if I could come up with two different looks:

*For the larger card, I used a piece of red felt ribbon to run down the middle of the card.  I used the Divine Swirls Cuttlebug folder for the white background and cut my trees at 4 1/2 inches.  The stamp is from Stampabilities and I used Christmas Red Stickles.  The button is from my stash of goodies.

*I decided to go with "non-traditional" colors for the smaller card and used hot pink accents. The trees were cut at 4 inches and I used hot pink paper with Diamond Stickles for the trim.  The pink gems were from the dollar bin at Michel's.  I also added a hot pink envelope to use with this card.  I really like this card!

After finishing the 2 cards, I had just a few small scraps left...so...I flipped through my handbook and found that this cart also has some great tags.  I was able to make two great little gift tags, using up all my scraps!
