hello

Hi there and welcome to Studio 5380.

I hope you had a great Fourth of July weekend! We got a lot of rain here but it did not stop my neighbors from lighting up the sky with a couple hours worth of fireworks. My poor Lola spent most of the fourth shivering under my bed - poor baby.  She's back to her usual, frisky self today, but...the sun is still up and I'm thinking we may have another show tonight.

I spent most of today playing in my Studio.  I'm still playing catch up with all the images I worked on during the 30 Day Color Challenge. It's pretty great to have images all colored up and waiting to be placed on a card!  Today's card is the result of a watercolor panel I created during the challenge. I'm still working on my watercolor skills, but I'm pretty happy with the way this one turned out....

I stamped these fun flowers from the Doodle Buds stamp set by WPlus9 randomly on mat made of watercolor paper. Next, using my TomBow Dual Tip Watercolor Markers, I painted the flowers and background color.

I painted an extra flower, fussy cut it and adhered it to my card with foam tape to add a bit of dimension to my card.

The hello sentiment is die cut from Lawn Fawn's Scripty Words die. I cut out the word four times and adhered them together adding a layer of Black Wink Of Stella glitter.

I added a single flower and a touch of blue watercolor to the inside of my card.

The center of each flower has a bit of Clear Wink of Stella for a touch of sparkle.

That pretty much wraps up today's card!  Thanks so much for stopping in to visit today. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and I'll be seeing you soon....

  13. I am new to the watercoloring and I have a question. This may sound stupid but how did you overlap the flowers so that the lines from the stamp don't show? Thanks for your help.

    1. Hello Mary!

Thanks for stopping by blog! I'm pretty new to the watercoloring scene also but I am really enjoying this technique. I used "masking" to created the background for this card. I stamped a few of the flowers and leaves onto some Post-it brand removable labeling tape (2 inches wide) and cut them out. Next I started stamping the images onto my cardstock covering some images with the removable tape images so that my flowers and leaves look like they are over-lapping. I'm not very good at explaining the method and it is much easier than I make it sound! I've got link to share with you - it's a video from the very talented Kathy at "The Daily Marker". Check out this video and take a look around at her wonderful blog. You will find so much inspiration!

Sure hope this helps - http://www.thedailymarker.com/2015/06/day-24-giveaway/
