Happy Birthday

Hello and welcome to Studio 5380.
Thanks for stopping by today!

The oh-so talented Kathy Racoosin of The Daily Marker has done it again....her fourth
30 Day Coloring Challenge began yesterday.  If you aren't familiar with Kathy's work or her challenge, do yourself a favor and stop by her blog. She is amazing and so inspiring.  I'm happy to say that this is my 3rd time to play along with her challenge and I'm hoping that I can keep up!

I can't share yesterday's project just yet - it's for a design team project and I'll be sharing it soon. But, I can share my Day 2 project with you.....

My first step for this card was to cut a mat from Neenah, Solar White cardstock using a die from the My Favorite Things Blueprint 13 die set.

Next, using the MFT Stamps Large Grid Stencil and Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon, I inked up my white mat.

After my background was completely dry, I stamped my sentiment from the Written in Watercolor stamp set by MFT Stamps. I am so thankful for my MISTI because I had to stamp the sentiment several times to get a nice coverage on my background.

I wanted to keep this pretty simple and stick with a graphic style.  So, I die cut a couple of stars from the MFT Stamps die set, Stitched Star Stax and gave them a bit of shimmer with a Black Wink of Stella Glitter Marker.  I also added a bit of silver metallic thread behind the larger star.

I really wasn't sure where I was going with this card when I started inking it up. I just knew I wanted that grid and those colors.  And, I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.

Thanks again for stopping by today.  I hope to be back tomorrow with something to share with you from Day 3 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.
