Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by!
Well we are into our second full week of September and I have officially started my Christmas Card Stash! Yay....I love working on Christmas cards! Have you started on your stash yet? I find that if I get started early and space them out, I don't get all bah-humbug quite as fast! When I try to create too many Christmas cards in a short time, I get burned out on Christmas paper and images. This way I get to spread the joy over a few months!
I'm pretty happy with my first Christmas card of the season. Just wishing I had a better touch with my Copic markers. I'm seeing some improvement, but my cute little elf's face is still a bit streaky to me. I'll keep trying and hope to get that skin tone down one of these days. I really love this adorable little elf from Peachy Keen Stamps and I'm going to link him up for this week's color challenge...
Recipe:
* Cute little elf is from the Peachy Keen stamp set "Lauri Loves Skip" Faceless Elves
* I used my Copic markers on his face, hair, shirt and stockings. Everything else is paper pieced.
* The card base is cut from Bazzill paper using my Grand Scalloped Square Spellbinders Die
* The sweet, printed papers are from the Recollections stack "Jolly Holiday" I used a zig-zag stitch around the hot pink patterned mat.
* Sentiment is from the Pink By Design stamp set "Winter Fun"
*All the white portions of his clothing got covered with Martha Stewart's Fine "Crystal" glitter
* I added some "Lilac" twine from The Twinery
* When I started on this card, I pictured it with jingle bells and I knew that I had some in my stash....somewhere. When I was ready to add the bells, (after looking everywhere) I could only find gold bells and I had silver bells in my head. And, no, I could not talk myself out of silver bells. So, it was off to Hobby Lobby where I found the cutest little silver bells! I don't know if you can tell, but the cut out portion on the bottom of the bell is in the shape of a snowflake. Silver and cute!
And there it is...my first OFFICIAL Christmas card of the 2012 season!
Now, if I can only make myself start the Christmas shopping. Ok, that's it for me today. Thanks again for stopping by and I'll be seeing you soon!
Until next time,
