Sending Smiles Across The Miles

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
Well, we've made it to Wednesday and I hope your week is going well.  So far, so good around here.  I had a great time last night playing Bunco with a wonderful group of friends!  We always have so much fun and get in way more talking than playing, but I love our time together!  I didn't get home until around 10 last night (whooo...late night, huh?), and stayed on the computer until much later, so I'm kinda dragging today.  But, I did manage to get one card finished up to share with you tonight...
Recipe:
*  Paper - K&Company
* Crinkle Ribbon
* Martha Stewart Scallop Punch
* 4 inch Doilies
* Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Ink
* Stamps - Pink By Design Timeless Pieces & Ticket To Ride.
* Pearls - Recollections from Michael's

I had some Crinkle ribbon on hand, but it was the wrong color for my card (the end piece on the left is the original color).  To get the color I needed, I dampened the ribbon (wet, but not dripping) and used Vintage Photo ink on an applicator to apply color to my ribbon.  Then, I left the ribbon sort of crumpled up and allowed it to dry completely.  My ribbon went from a pale yellow to this golden brown color.

I also used Vintage Photo ink on my lace doilies to give them an aged look. (Don't look at how dirty my mat is...yuck...it really needs a good scrubbing).

Next, it's time to use these great stamps! Again with the Vintage Photo Ink!  I also used my Tim Holtz paper distresser on the edges of each piece of cardstock.  After roughing up all the edges, each piece was inked up with the Vintage Photo Ink.

It's hard to tell in the photo, but these pearls are a rosy-pink color and match the patterned paper perfectly!
 My family is scattered all over the map and this sentiment is perfect to send to any one of them to let them know that I am thinking about them...love it!

And that's my card for today...my attempt at Vintage.  It's not my strong suite (don't really know what is!), but I love the look of it and hope to improve with time and practice.

In case you missed it, you still have time to enter my give-away that is taking place this Friday (July 15).  I will be giving away two $10.00 Gift Certificates to the Pink By Design Store on Friday.  You can read the details here.

As always, thanks for stopping by for a visit!  I love your sweet comments, they make my day!
Until next time,
Tanya

  2. Theresa is just sooooo funny isn't she?! I would never make it to her 4am time slot!!! I love your card. I'm not good at the vintage look. I love to see the Vintage style though. I'm been thinking about getting some paper dollies to use on some cards. Love how you used yours. Great great card!! :)

  3. I love the use of the doily on this card...I've been wanting to try to remember to pick some up....I love the way I have been seeing them used on cards....this card really does have an old timey feel...I love the inked crinkle ribbon...that was a great idea! Sounds like you had a fun night. I find myself pretty useless after 10:00 pm these days...just can't quite put my finger on when that happened. ;)
