Filigree Frame Cards

Hello and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
I hope your week is going well for you.  So far, so good around here.  Monday was spent cleaning house.  Yesterday was spent running errands and today I was able to play in my craft room a bit!  I'm afraid that I've done more shopping in the Silhouette Online Store than actual creating with my Cameo!  So, today I was determined to put something together from my library of Silhouette images.

I have accumulated several beautiful cards that are available through the store and really fell in love with one in particular called "Card With Filigree Frame"....

The card base and the filigree frame both fit well on one sheet of 12 X 12 cardstock.  So, I cut out both images, once on ivory cardstock, and once on dark brown cardstock.  I added the ivory frame to the brown card and the brown frame to the ivory card.

I covered the swirly portions of the frame with Glossy Accents and Martha Stewart Coarse Glitter.  Because the frames are so bold and busy, I wanted simple images to complete the cards.  I used Cricut's "Sophie" cartridge for the bird and "Art Philosophy" for the dragonfly.

The sentiment for both cards is from the Pink By Design stamp set "Faith"

I just could not get a good photo of the dragonfly card.  The glitter and my lights just did not work together for me at all.  But, I think they both turned out very pretty and will be perfect for those occasions when you want to send someone a little note to brighten their day.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have enjoyed your visit!  I always look forward to reading your sweet comments!

Until next time,

  6. Oh No She Didn't! You didn't actually show another amazing cameo creation. I am turning away now and thinking... maybe I can create something like that with the Gypsy. Then I think... well... it would take so much time that I would be money ahead to just buy a cameo. So... I am going to look one more time and then try to forget because I don't need another machine, right? Hee! Hee! GORGEOUS!!!

  11. Wow! These cards are gorgeous! The filigree frames are stunning and you are so clever to reverse the colours to get more use out of your papers. The images you've used with the cards work perfectly within the frames too!
(I had to laugh when I read that you had cleaned house on Monday. That's what I SHOULD be doing now - and I'm taking a break before I've even started!!)
