Good Monday morning to you and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner!
I hope your Monday is off to a great start, my is off to a quiet start. Today is my Emma's first day in the First Grade. I am having all sorts of emotions today, I am so proud of her, I'm nervous for her, I miss her and I'm excited for her...First Grade is a big deal! And through it all, I'm thinking this is probably a lot harder for me than it is for her! I sure do love my Emma Grace!
Ok, let me get on today's post before I start crying and get nothing accomplished! Mondays aren't all bad, because with Monday comes another.... Challenge Me Monday over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog! This week's challenge is called Piece of Cake and the name says it all! Create a project with a cupcake or baked good and remember that you must use at least one Cricut cut!
Here's my card for this week's challenge...
Recipe:
* Paper - I used the beautiful paper stack Wild Saffron from K&Company
* Martha Stewart punch for the border
* Nestablilities die cut Beaded Circles for the scalloped mat. I cut two of these and used pop dots to adhere the two layers together.
* Cricut's Birthday Bash for the cupcake. I cut the cupcake at 3 inches, cutting the bottom layer twice and using pop dots between the layers. I also added Glossy Accents to the cherry.
* Sentiment - Kitchen Puns stamp set from Pink By Design
* Brown pearls - Close To My Heart. My favorite place to buy CTMH is HERE.
Love this cupcake!
Lots of Layers!
And here's the inside of my card.
Thanks so much for stopping by to see my card today. I always look forward to your visits and kind comments! I hope you will stop by FCCB and see what the other fabulous Design Team members have put together for your inspiration today. After your visit...go...get creative...and join the challenge for this week. I can't wait to see what you create!
Until next time,
you are going to spend the day worrying, and she will come home thrilled by the adventure that first grade is. kids are still great at that age...now, middle school, well that's an another story. ;) i love your creation. the colors are not what i would expect, they are "fall-ish" and i love how it works. that cherry looks good enough to eat. hope your day flies by and you get a good first day report.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous, Tanya! Love what you did with this paper.

Saundra :)
Yum!!! This is a great card. Chocolate always makes Mondays better.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous - inside and out! I LOVE your papers and the border punch looks fantastic with the circles in your scalloped frame. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI'll be praying that Emma has a fantastic day - and that you do too. What an exciting time for her! It is tough to end a chapter and move on to the next.
This is beautiful! I love the colors and papers you used.
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty...and the inside as well! Just love the papers that you used.

Cute card and sentiment! The inside of the card is as nice as the outside :)Amy
ReplyDeleteYummy card!! Those papers are great!! First day of first grade is so very special. Our twin Grands started first grade today. The female half was so excited. She said at Church yesterday, "School starts tomorrow, how cool!" She loved kindergarden and I know she will love first. The male half just takes it without all the excitement. They also split them up this year, so another first. That's been my worry today. Us Grandparents fret about this stuff a whole lot more than the Grands or our Children do, I think. :)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! It's refreshing to see a cupcake card in non-traditional cupcake colors. Is there even such a thing as traditional cupcake colors? LOL! Fabulous card!
ReplyDeleteThis card is fabulous!!!! Love the colors and I think it is SO pretty!!!
ReplyDeleteThis card is just YUMMY! Love every single little detail! Now I have to go get another punch! Thanks a lot! Hee! Hee! Just kidding. I love it and I will have that punch! YAY!
ReplyDeleteOh I love the colors you used for this, just beautiful. My little princess starts 1st grade in September, so I know how you feel.
ReplyDeleteHappy Craftin'!

Fabulous card!!! Which Martha punch is that? I may need to get it! And the K & Company paper...so pretty!
ReplyDeleteJosie...I'm sorry to say that I don't remember the name of this punch! I've had it for ages and didn't write the name on it. I wish MS would engrave the name of each punch on it somewhere, it would sure make sharing info much easier!
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness, Tanya! The papers and colors you used on this are absolutely stunning! I love, love, love this! Will you make me one? Pretty please? I'd love to have one just like it to hang in my craft room. Let me know if you can do another one and I'd be happy to pay you for it of course.
